Got this Ciera as a second car and have been but satisfied. I'm a little confused by a few of the negative reviews because for a mid 90's car this one is well built, drives nicely, the fuel economy is not up to 2009 levels but that is to be expected. It is comfortable. This one is a SL model so it has a/c, tilt wheel, power windows, power locks, cruise control, power mirrors, power drivers seat, and remote keyless entry. bought the car with 82,000 miles not has 93,000 other than oil changes have only done a few things cause i am picky. (new back shocks, replaced factory cassette stereo with a cd unit, new spark plugs and spark plug wires.) As said before is a really good car for the money.

Nostalgia for the days of Olds!!!

I loved Cutlasses since my first one in the early 90's. It was an '81 Supreme, and ending up owning two other Supremes also. Now, that was a BE-U-TIFUL car. I yearned for a '68/'69, but that was a little out of my price range back then. BUT we are not here to talk about those, we are here because I found myself 25 years later, owning a Cutlass again. Of course, this is the Ciera, meaning it is more of a family car than a sports car. The nice thing is that GM didn't forget that those parents grew up in a time of sports cars when they chose the engine for this car. It has power no doubt, and should be expected when you put a 6-cyl in a small car like that. I was the typical mom driving a bad-a** minivan, that was powerful, comfortable, and great for camping, but it lost all it's water on the way home one night, and cracked the head. I was in desperate need, and came across an ad for a '94 Cutlass Ciera with 200,000 miles for $500. A year later, my friends and I joke that I bought a stereo and got the car for free. Installed in the dash is a Kenwood color-changing, USB, Bluetooth, (w/microphone installed at the edge of the window for calls), Pandora, Sirius, etc. ready stereo. So, as you can imagine, the $500 I shelled out is probably close to the price tag on the car stereo. The car has been reliable, aside from the fuel pump suddenly going out, and a power steering hi-pressure hose leak. I had it on the Interstate doing the speed limit in our state, 85 mph on a 2 hour trip. No problems. The battery is weak so it needs a little help on cold mornings to wake up, but after that, it is fine. I am replacing it with a good used one, because last time I put a new battery in a vehicle, it took a s**t on me. Superstitious, maybe? but I need the old girl to keep running for awhile, because it becomes my son's when I replace the van this spring. I agree the gas mileage is not spectacular, but it is probably in need of good tune-up before I can judge it too harshly. I love that it came with all the amenities, power everything including driver's seat with three separate switches so you definitely are comfortable. One other problem, the front windows do not go down, and when I attempted to check it out, I suddenly realized just how much steel I am encased in. People keep describing it as a tank, but most of them have no idea how true that statement is. I feel very secure in the car, because someone hits me with a new vehicle, I probably won't even feel it, and the car sure won't show it. That is when they actually built a car for longevity, not to be replaced every couple years. As stated by many, the trunk can hold two or three "dead bodies", as that is how trunks were described when I was growing up in the Midwest. It is old but the interior is in excellent condition for being 25 years old, and my original remote still works to open the doors and trunk. My son and I are 6'0"+, so maneuvering in and out can be hectic, when we were used to my '06 Dodge Caravan. Not much more to say, except Dodge brought back all the classic sports car names and revamped them (and laughing all the way to the bank since GM and Ford just stick with one or two classic names), and I think GM needs to do the same with Oldsmobile. Come on Detroit! Have you forgotten what cars used to be about! It wasn't always about hauling the family around, and fuel economy, or autonomous electric. It was about pride, and status, and FUN more than anything! Nostalgia can have a funny effect on wallets, especially since most of the ones who remember are around middle age. I would love to see a "true sports" car from GM and the 2020 Oldsmobile Cutlass would be Supreme. ;-) Enough chatter, no matter your opinion, minus a couple hiccups for a car older than my children, and 200,000 miles, it has been a reliable, safe mode of transportation and, hopefully, will continue to be for my son next year. 2020 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme: Get on it GM!!!

A pretty decent first car

I'm 17 yrs. old, got this as my first car. it was wrecked on the freeway during icy conditions and survived!!! I put a new front clip on and it's like new (well, for a 15 yr. old car!) Fully loaded with all features, fairly easy to service stupid things (like the antenna that I broke). Mine wasn't broken in properly and has to be warmed up before taking off, but i got a remote starter to take care of that. A/C still works, brakes don't seem to wear out that fast, and it starts everyday. Sure, im not driving the coolest car at school, but hey, it goes. I have had the car up to around 80-85 and not even know it(gotta be careful), VERY smooth riding

typical 90s GM product

I cant complain to much the car was free with only 25000 miles! it was a gift from my great aunt, knew since it sat there for 20 years it would need some work but anything and everything seems to be failing the longer i have it. (new oil/tranny gaskets, ac compressor, ac lines.) alternator is about to go out. it runs well very nice ride for the moments nothing is wrong but to much hassle for an ugly cheap gm product of the 90s

Think Twice

Think twice before purchasing one of these poorly built cars. Just did a complete brake overhaul, check engine light is on and abs light is on. Many other problems need to be fixed not to mention the styling is about 15 years behind its time.
