What they don't tell you about the gas mileage..... It only has a 10.8 gallon tank. Your driving range is not too far. The 31/39 MPG on the paperwork is not too real. The computer on the dash says your travelling at 34 to 40 MPG in town . The low on gas light kicks off and the dash starts counting down how much mileage you have left in the tank. I had 41 miles. I then filled the car 8.8 gallons with 39 miles on the dash computer. 229/8.8 = 26 mpg not the listed 31. I am not a speed freak I got the car for the MPG rating. Note: 6 months later the car still does not reach it's CITY MPG rating. The true mileage is always 4-5 miles below the posted on the dash number. Note: 1 year later much happier about miles per gallon. City wise it is still at 27-28 mpg no matter how I drive. BUT long distance trip best result was 47 mpg. Went from south WV to ST. George SC. The odometer read 386 miles, the computer said I still had 111 miles in the tank. The official HWY mileage was 39 so I got gas in St. George SC. I only put in 8.2 gallons of gas. The 111 Mileage was correct. With AC and cruise control the car got 47 MPG. It is a really good trip car. At 18 months the car has settled in to about 29 mpg city. At 26 months the car gets 33.9 mpg all around. The hatchback is great for chores. lots of space. At 36 months put in a new battery. The one that the car came with was almost 5 years old. I fill up the car every three weeks with gas. I have had the back seats folded down since I got the car. It can haul a lot of stuff easily. Paint around the hood corners is flaking off. 3.5 years... no major problems. I do follow the manual for all maintenance. Get a manual on the car so you can replace all the simple stuff like air filters. YouTube videos show you how to do it. Also when changing the battery put on a battery trickle charger, then remove the battery. This will keep all your radio stations installed and not erased. Loading 20 -30 stations back on is a PAIN. YouTube will show you how to change the battery. At about 5 years the car is going strong. I follow the scheduled maintenance. Bought 1 tire, will buy 2 more in June at the regular maintenance check up. Gas mileage in the city is finally up to 31 MPG. It is great for rush hour traffic. It can zip out of a turn. 1-27-23 Six years and all I do is the regular manual suggested maintenance. I have had no problems with the vehicle. Bought only tires oil, and gas. 7-27-23 No major repairs. Replaced the battery and got new tires. I change the oil every 6 months and do all the maintenance in the book on time. Car looks brand new. Got 28,000 miles on it. Need to change the wipers, that's about it 1-28-24 About 34000 miles. Change the oil and the maintenance on schedule. Averaged 40 8 mpg on a 2000 mile road trip with ac and cruise control through mountains and flat lands. No problems other than tires and batteries 7-29-2024 Runs like a "TOP". No repairs since it rolled off the lot, just the normal oil change and filter replacements.01-29-25 still no issues. I just oil change every 6 months, gas, and air for the tires I have only 37000 miles on the car and don't abuse it.

We absolutely love this little car. Fuel economy is excellent. It has great options for the price range. And it has a good warranty for a vehicle in this price range as well. Very versatile car with lots of space. We test drove a fiesta and a sonic and the versa was the biggest of the smallies!

The Price is Right

It was sitting at a dealership over a year and I watched the price drop from 15k to 11k. I decided to move on an odometer that only had 400 miles on it. 2 months and 3k miles later nothing has broken yet. The breaks are stiff, the turning is stiff, the suspension is stiff... no give in anything. I can live with all of that considering the seats are comfy and the next car with mileage that low was an extra 5k. I average 36 mpg where over half is city driving so quite happy with that. My biggest pet peeve is the front window, it creaks over every bump when the temp drops below 40 and when I wake up for work the condensation on the window is as much on the inside as the outside. I think the contraction of temp on the window seal is letting it get on the front window. All the other windows are normal. When the temp is above 40 it is not an issue. Honestly my only long term worry is the CVT transmission, it is an unknown in the reliability department.

Review, but non-sale

Here is my review, while unfortunately my sale did not go through due to my financing. I use my auto for puttering around town, to work, to store, etc. I really liked this one...I went to 2 different dealers. I have a 2013 Toyota Yaris, which I am very happy with. I was shopping due to my desire to have more details on the dash than I presently have. I was specifically seeking a light or reminder on the dash to remind me to turn off the lights, or headlights. I tested the 2015 Versa SR, the 2017 Versa Note Sr & SL. Both gave me good acceleration compared to the Yaris. The new technology has the USB placement in a more ideal place, not hidden away or hard to reach. The car has 4 cup holders. The seating was fine, I don't ride in long trips often with exterior room. Overall, I would get this car, maybe not new but used. I do not feel vehicles need to be 20K dollars. That's all.

I have had problem with the radio not working from day one but the dealership did fix the problem. Took the Versa in for the first oil change and was told both front axle nuts were unwinding, the dealership fix the situation. Took the Versa on a long distant trip the car handle well but the transmission is slipping. Got to make a third repair appointment. I'm starting to feel this call was put together by drunken New Years Eve employees at Nissan. Questioning my choice of cars.
