Great truck in a crowded market

I spent 2 years test driving trucks and making a decision. I have now owned the Titan for about 1 year and could not be happier. Coming from the Ford Expedition, I really tried to like the new F150. Problem is, I had to spend 70-80K to get what I wanted and the value was just not there. Enter Titan with a better ride and better comfort for 10-15K less. I tried to like the Ram, but didn't trust the reliability. Having to give up a trick tailgate was the penalty, which is not much with the Titan step that folds easily under the bumper. I use the Titan boxes all the time with gear stowed to support towing needs and boating items. I travel long distances frequently with a family of 4 and 2 smaller dogs and a 20' boat. The towing capability is excellent, and everyone is very comfortable. Seems as though the spec wars and marketing favor the other truck brands, but I am extremely happy with my choice.

2nd Titan 2021 Platinium

Bought new 2004 and loved it, the look & style, ride, comfort and handling. 238,888 miles and motor transmission still great. Started spending on expected repairs and decide too many miles pulling RV long distance. Bought the 2021, like the gas mileage, but premium is expensive and math makes it ok with the additional power. The agility was better in the 2004 and transmission was much smoother. Not crazy about the clunky gears, told it’s memory related. Has gotten much better with 8k miles. Nice accessories and excellent ride, tows RV well, love the camera technology. The GPS is terrible, use Google map instead. Like how dealer has always taken care of me. If the transmission smooths out, I’ll be much happier and relaxed.

I got lucky and found a loaded up 2021 Pro4X with lots of rebates. Walked out with a truck that stickered for 61k for only 49. I love the sound of the 5.6 V8 and it has a decent amount of punch for a full size truck. My biggest gripes were how low the front end sits at stock height and also the lower than average fuel consumption. I've averaged around 16-17 mpg and that seems to be on the high side compared to others. The ride height was fixed with a Bilstein upgrade from the stock 4600's to 5100. The front end was leveled with rear for less than $1000 including Dirt King upper control arms. It rides great and will get me anywhere I need to go and almost anywhere I want to go. The 5 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty was the icing on the cake. I do still need to take it on for a transmission issue where it clunks while downshifting from 2nd to 1st. The final issue pertains to the infotainment. My truck is one of the many that has had an issue with the screen "delaminating" causing a small spot that looks dirty or scratched. Great truck overall and as long as Nissan takes care of these small problems, I will be a repeat customer.

Terrible since driving it off the lot

I recently had a 2004 Nissan Titan that was very reliable, so when I upgraded, I decided to buy the 2021. Overall it handles very nice. However, I am having a few problems with it. First, the transmission is terrible! I bangs going into 1st gear and shifts hard. When I take my foot off the gas, I feel the transmission downshifting, almost to the point of it feeling like I’m pressing on the brake. Second, the windshield was not put in correctly. Any time I drive over 45 mph, it sounds like a window is cracked open. Lastly, I took it into service and they said all the bolts for the rear suspension were completely loose. After sitting at service for 3 hours, they were unable to diagnose the transmission or figure out where the clunking sound is coming from. Plus they had to put in a request to Nissan engineers to figure out the windshield. I’ll be dropping it off again to them tomorrow morning. Oh, last thing, the AC unit is very loud in it. It cycles on and off non-stop and every time it turns on, it makes a clunking sound as well. Overall, not very happy with my purchase.

More options than I was expecting. The ride is smooth and it pulls our camper extremely well.
