Nissan builds pretty CRAP

Transmission went at 90,000 miles. Only 90,000! I have Toyota trucks that have gone over 200,000 miles without problems. THEN, the replaced transmission (by local Nissan dealership) only lasted 20,000 miles! Once I got to the point that new repairs were going to be over $1200, I couldn't sell it fast enough. I'm still paying on the $4000 THIRD transmission but am SO relieved to be rid of that piece of crap. And not just me. A mechanic told one of my techs that Nissans help keep him in business. That once they get past the warranty, they break down more than any other brand. I LOVED the ride. GREAT power for its size. GREAT sounds system. But those are reasons to keep a vehicle that has SO many repairs? Not for me.

Only Path I found is to repair shop!

Bought this car to accommodate children, and have regretted it for the past 3 years. The gas mileage is 25% lower than advertised, the doors slam on my legs constantly (as a result, I never let my kid climb in or out without me holding the door open). The third row seat is useless if you need to have even a load of groceries at the time - no legroom, hard to get back there to put carseats if you want to give teens/adults the 2nd row. The technology/entertainment was outdated in 2013 and even more noticeably so now. And constant repairs, including the most recent left hand door handle but in the past it's been the lift gate, airbag sensors, just issue after issue. Poor value, I would associate this poor level of quality with a much less costly vehicle.

No blind-spot warning!!!

This car is very comparable to the Infinity JX. The JX has some high technology features that are not offered in the Pathfinder, but costs about $9k more. One of these features is the blind-spot warning. Unfortunately, Nissan offers the blind-spot warning as an option in the Altima, but not in the Pathfinder.

More Problems...Poor Build Quality

We purchased a new 2013 Pathfinder Platinum AWD. 3rd gen CVT. You would think Nissan would have figured it out by now...NOT!!! By the time we had driven 4000km the car had been in the shop twice to reprogram the transmission. By 6000 km, in the shop two more times, but with a new transmission. Within 500 km after the new transmission was installed, the same drivetrain vibration. Nissan Canada says "It's a good car...we'll fix it" We said you have wasted too many hours running a vehicle back and forth from the shop. We lost 10k on trade in, and bought a 2013 Lexus RX350 F Sport. Wish we had bought the Lexus in the first place!!

I bought my 2013 PF, SL, 4x4 premium in June 2013. I have almost 2,000 miles on it so far and it is the funnest SUV I've ever owned. Absolutely comfortable inside and plenty of room for my two kids. Lots of fun gadgets and great has milege. I haven't had any problems with anything and have absolute trust in the Nissan name.
