4 years ownership and still happy!

No surprises. I drive lots of highway miles, so wanted the most comfort and performance I could get, but stay in budget for purchase price, fuel, repairs. I've had it over 4 years. I had the timing chain issue around 45K. It was under warranty then, so no big deal. I pulled in the bay at the dealership, said "what's this ticking?" They gave me a rental while repairing. Happened again around 90K. They had done a recall by then and put on a the redesigned timing system. Going through tires fast, about 33k. Fuel efficiency less than expected, 27/24 prob. It will get 30 or so on hwy only if you stay around 50 mpg. Find a good dealership. One in Nashville, I find predatory. I tried another and get treated like I'm not a chump there.

Love/Hate Relationship With This Car

Brought the car for driving to work. Drive a lot of miles on a daily basis to get to work. I have had a number of issues with the car, such as the CVT transmission had an issue and the car was no longer under warranty. This was $2,400 to replace, the gas tank had an issue, to replace, it was $1,500. But, I still love the car as it is reliable and is cheap to do maintenance. It's a fun and cute car. Just had engine failure due to the timing issue with the engine. The deals hip did honor the recall and my Juke is back on the road. My car didn't have the timing issue until 187,000 miles. I expect to put some investment in the car maintenance due to the mileage that I will put on the car. Overall, this is a good car. My 187k miles is all highway miles andoverall runs excellent. I am considering to trade it in due to the mileage, and will likely get another Juke. I never cared about the space in the other seats since I am not sitting in them :). Hope you all go the distance as I have in my 2011 Juke!

Purchased in October 2010. To date no issues with any mechanical systems. Rear window stopped working but self-healed. Average 25 mpg's almost all the time. Easy to park. Enough room for really only two adults in front and small ones in the back........I'm 6'2" and have plenty of leg and head room, but would crush another adult behind me.....Not bad pricing for an AWD vechile with decent gas milage....

Engine Dies After 68,000 miles / 2 years & 3 months

Great driving vehicle. Enjoyed our time together. That is until it died without any warning. Guess what - it was the timing chain. No warning and no sign of any problem. It broke and left me in the middle of the highway. I was able to coast to the next exit and wait for a tow to the nearest Nissan dealer. I had no idea what the problem was. I thought it was electrical. They confirmed it was not electrical and it was the engine. But it would take 5 hours to take it apart to diagnose the problem. That means I would have to pay them $500 to tell me the engine was dead and needed to be replaced. The timing chain appears to be very common. Nissan was not helpful. It was just outside the warranty.

Engine problems

I have a 2011 Juke and recently the timing chain broke causing engine damage to the point that the engine needs to be replaced. I have 75000 miles on it due to my job requiring travel. Nissan told me that it is a good car and can handle anything I throw at it. NIssan has agreed to pay for the engine and parts but want me to pay for labor. I am caught over a barrel on this one. The new engine is only covered for 12 months or 12000 miles. This is the first nissan I have ever owned and I promise it will be the last.
