Where do some of these reviews come from

I have now owned my 2023 Nissan Frontier for almost a year. I'm one to read reviews on anything that I purchase. The frontier had mixed reviews with the newer engine to the mpg. I figured 24mpg on the highway wasn't terrible for a V6 and most of my commute is on the interstate. This truck has exceeded the 24 mpg, I average 27-29 mpg! The ride quality is good and passengers in the rear say it's comfortable. There are complaints about the controls and things being dated. I have found everything easy to use and not too difficult to navigate. For what the truck has to offer and the price, it was hard to pass it up.

Woke up Monday morning kind of irritated I had 2 cars on my insurance policy . So on a whim I went on Car Max and got an offer for my 2024 Toyota RAV 4. Shocked when they offered me $32,000 for a car that had almost 12,000 miles and paid $34,675 to purchase the new RAV4. Thanks for the Tariff war , no doubt that increased the trade in.Right then and there I decided I wanted to get a Pickup Truck to tow my 25 Foot Panga Boat. My 2017 Kia Sedona towed it well , just worried my $17,000 investment in that Minivan would be lost if towing that 25 footer damaged the frame. Who knows ? And I wanted the automatic braking that the Sedona didn't have. So I looked around for a used Pickup Truck on Car Max. Looked at the Ford F150, the Ram 1500,Toyota Tacoma, even at the Honda Ridgeline. The F150 with it's Turbo scared me , wasn't fond how the Ram 1500 looked. Looked kind of Bloated and rounded. The Tacoma was either a Turbo new or had less HP on the used ones . Wanted an engine over 300 HP and no Turbo's. Came across the Nissan Frontier on Nissans website and really liked the boxy shape ,that it looked like a real truck . Wanted a naturally aspirated motor and only Nissan and Honda offered those in the Mid size segment. So I traded in my Rav 4 for $32,000 and purchased a 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro 4 x in Blue Pearl for $34,900 on Car Max. Had 19,900 miles on the odometer.Nice clean , almost perfect body , just the truck bed was all dirty with scratches . I might pay $600 to have a new bed liner sprayed in , it'll cost $125 or more for a bed liner mat . so $475 extra for something more durable and it has a lifetime warranty . The Frontier is the best looking truck on the road in my opinion. Gas mileage is about the same as my 2017 Kia Sedona. Good MPG on the highway, so so MPG in the city . I tested the truck the other day. Filled up the tank and drove 72 miles in a loop going 55 MPH. Drove 85 percent highway and 15 percent city. Went back and filled up the tank and needed 3 gallons to fill it back up. Calculated 24 MPG.Gas had 10 percent ethanol. When I put the torneau hard top bed cover on the back I'll get even better MPG.Some people claim they get 3 extra MPG's with the back cover on. Might even use Lucus Fuel Injector cleaner every fillup for more MPG. I drove along the beach road /highway on the south shore of Long Island and as soon as I got on that highway going west I saw the MPG number on the gauge drop pretty quickly as I drove with a crosswind blowing in from the ocean.Didn't have the bed covered. Drive 55 MPG and you'll get good gas mileage. I coast a lot when I see red lights off in a distance. Amazing I got an almost top of the line Frontier trading in the Toyota Rav4 , ended up paying $2900 out of pocket extra after the trade in at Car Max. $1700 for a 75,000 mile warranty . The Frontier is so much better than the RAV4. More comfortable, 10 x better radio with navigation. Reviews say the Frontiers radio is so so, It's the best radio I ever had in a car, the navigation map is fantastic. I wanted to punch the Toyota Rav's radio, the worst radio I ever had to deal with. About that water pump they have in the new 3rd generation Frontier. It's very costly to replace, 10 hours of dealership labor. But from what I read, very few water pumps ever fail. They consider it a lifetime part and most people will have sold their truck well before it fails. Realize you're paying a lot less for this truck new or used compared to other trucks. You might have to replace the water pump or you might not. Very few ever fail. If your timing chain goes you could do both the timing chain and water pump to save. But is a truck with 250,000 miles worth it to save ??? That's 20 years of driving for me on Long Island driving 12,000 miles a year. People complain how heavy the steering wheel is to turn, If I didn't read about that I'd never have noticed anything difficult with the steering. Seemed alright to me. I'm 6-6 and with the front seat all the way back it's very comfortable sitting in the Frontier. People complain about the steering wheel not being able to telescope, CRAZY !, I'm tall and it's very comfortable turning the steering wheel even when the seat is fully back . Nice wide window sill on the door where you can rest your arm while steering. So comfortable for a tall person and I weigh 260 pounds and I'm somewhat wide bodied. Driver comfort and front passenger comfort in the front is very good. More than enough leg room for tall people in front. The rear seats and leg room are alright. I'm 6-6 and can sit back there if there's a short person up front.I might have to spread my knees on each side of the seat if the seat went back further.Wish they had the on/off feature that would turn the truck on and off at traffic lights . Would cut gas consumption driving on Long Island where every 500 feet there's a traffic light. Nissan doesn't build a lot of quality cars, but they build quality trucks. The V6 310 HP motor will last a long time. The 9 speed transmission was used by Mercedes Benz. First time I ever owned a pickup truck and I'm 61. Love the look of this truck , the dark wheels look so much better than the silver wheels you see on the lower trims. Side mirrors are kind of small, wish they were bigger. Wish Nissan just made a truck a few inch's longer and had more legroom in the back. Probably did nothing to fix that because they want people to buy the more expensive Titan. The 5 foot bed is more than adequate for my needs, enough room to transport a 6 foot lawn tractor in the back. Saved at least $8000 buying used , with the trade in there wasn't much sales tax to pay and the Car Max warranty covers my truck until 75,000 miles. Nice little deal!!!!!!!!!
