Green Machine
The car that I'm currently driving has 156k+. Been passed down through the family since we purchased it new, in 99. It has taken a beating, but still drives pretty good. My opinion it's a well worth it care and a good buy. The car is considered a legend in my book.
3rd Montero
This is my 3rd Montero - 1st Sport. Love the exterior looks, especially when first intro'd. All Montero's have been mechanically sound and virtually trouble free. Only issues came when we replaced my wife's Acura with a Landcruiser. I realize I can't compare the two, but man what a difference. The Montero feels like a sportscar handling-wise, but several aspects, the lack of power mostly, have been highlighted. Still think it's a good car for the money, but the Landcruiser has me spoiled.

can't wait to buy another
This is the first Mitsubishi I've owned, and not one regret. I don't ususally keep a car for more than 2 years but I have no plans to get rid of this one any time soon. I love everything about it. There isn't anything on it that I wish were different and I haven't had any reason to take it to a mechanic.
good
I bought this SUV a few days before my Junior year of high school ended. It was a good price and had very low mileage for the year. I have had it for 8 months now and have had no problems with it. I feel it's a wonderful car and i love driving it. Compared to numerous other SUV's, the monter sport is a comfortable, quiet ride. I am very happy with my choice
Can't wait to buy a second one!
I have 65000 miles on my Montero Sport and it has been worry free. I love the way it handles, how it looks, and all the great comments I get when people step inside. It's roomy, comfortable, solid and fun.
What a truck!
I have owned since new. Could never ask for a more dependable truck. Not one problem in 4 years. I have heard the Sports last well beyond 125,000 miles +. Comfortable, good gas mileage, pulls my bass boat with ease. I have no idea what these other people that have posts on this site are driving. Would recommend this truck to anyone I know and love!
Lemon
I hate this car. I have had it in the shop every three months since I bought it for everything from warped brake rotors, dead batteries, bad alternator, transmission leaks, torque converter rumble, NEW TRANSMISSION AT 44,000, broken seat heaters, broken thermostat, you name it. The interior is not comfortable and the seats are bolted on with blatantly visible hardware, and the console space is so poorly designed that you cannot have a drink in the cup holder and change the radio at the same time. The cargo compartments under the floor in the back are about all I can say good about this car. I traded up and OUT of Mitsubishi.
stand by your product!! P.O.S.
We got suckered in a "smart buy" program. What a joke! The name applies only if you don't fall for it. The Stereo went out the first five minutes after we took it off the lot. It took over a week to get a replacement.Steering wheel wobbles and they won't fix it. Front end feels as if it is about to fall apart and it chews up tires like crazy.
