A Great Car
I have owned Acuras, a toyota, and quite a few American cars which were very unreliable, i must say I had my doubts about mitsubishi. i am fairly young(23) and been thru quite a few cars. this car has plenty of power greatfeatures for the money. I think better than the 3.2 and 3.5 RL and TL Acura's respectively, which are nioce. This car is very reliable . I haven't had any issues with it, and I am really suprised at this. I thought it was not as reliable as Honda / Acura, but it is. Dont get me wrong, the build quality isn't Lexus, it sure is close though. great car.
Honest Reality
I've had to replace the transmission and the passenger side window. The sunroof also has occassional difficulties opening but will eventually open if you play with it long enough. But its an overall good car/ powerful car.
Diamante dilema
Great looking car - go easy on braking as they will need frequent replacement - would've liked heated seats for the leather (not avail in '97 model)- would like directional in the area where little tv screen - negatives include continuos trans problems in 2nd gear slipping and catching, some burning of the fluid - dealer seemed to keep doing little things to stall on replacing it- no other problems so may replace trans - also a little problem with trunk release occas not working or key in trunk not working properly when trunk has boxes in it -
Upside potential
I bought this car used and have been driving it ever since. It has the style and finesse to hang with the big boys but won't break the bank. Surprisingly fun to drive and very reliable. Overall a great buy.
Nice car
Love my 97 diamante ls. Only thing bothers me is the transmission. Sometimes it jerks like a stick shift but other than that its a great car to have and buy.
