I bought this car about 3 months ago with 70,000 miles on it, and it has been nothing but a complete joy to drive for me. I am one of the few that took the plunge and bought the yellow, and this car stands out in the crowd and definitely draws a compliment everywhere I go. It is fun to dirve, but definitely has the Mercedes feeling to it, sexy with a lot of luxury and style!

Great car if you want a solid, smooth handling sports car. Plenty of pep, but not enough to get you in trouble. Motorized top is exceptional. Fantastic workmanship inside and out. Not a car for you if you want an all-out racer, but great if you want to cruise in style and confort

Of all the roadsters out there under $50k, this one is the easiest to live with every day without giving up the fun. The retractable hard-top means you have a coupe with the top up. The trunk is 9 cubic ft, better than any other roadster. Power is great from a dead stop, but it does hesistate a little when accelerating at speed. Reliability has been great.

My Mercedes SLK 230 is now 19 years old. I love this car; it zips up and down the curvy mountain roads where I live. The hard top convertible keeps working; I bought extra insurance from the dealer because I thought that could not happen, but it did. The design of the front bumper is the only thing that is flawed; it is so low it goes over parking curbs but does not come back without tearing the plastic. The trunk space is incredible; I can easily carry large backpacks, or a set of 100 cu ft SCUBA tanks and lots of accessories with even putting up the top. With the top up the space is enormous. This is a great car!

I had an SLK 230 1998 that lasted me till 284,000 miles. In the end the engine loss pressure and I’m sure it could have been fixed but I wanted to get a newer to me vehicle. I got another slk 230 this time a 1999 with 148,000 miles on it. At 151, 000 I was hit by a semi truck on the free way. He didn’t see me and tried to switch lanes smacking me from one side of the freeway to the other. I have no clue how the car didn’t flip or I’m not dead or seriously injured. The whole back bumper was taken off and was drive able after. Then a week later the car started to shake if it wasn’t driving. I still kept driving it while dealing with commercial insurance which is an absolute nightmare. At 154,000 miles the car finally stopped driving, will turn on but won’t ‘go’. These cars are just awesome. If I hadn’t been hit I know the car would have easily gone to 200,000 and probably over like my last one. They are super fun to drive! Easy to park, especially in San Francisco. If your looking for a reliable used vehicle I would go for one of these. Only con is the limited storage and both of mine the tops stopped working but besides that awesome car! It will get you where you need to go!
