Up your technology game...
I have to disagree with the other reviewer regarding the technology and specifically, the navigation unit. If you are used to Mercedes legacy systems, this new one is far more robust which will require a definitely learning curve and require time to familiarize yourself with the locations and the procedures for creating your own customized shortcuts to make navigating the system even more user-friendly. I have not had my unit freeze up, however, I don't doubt that it can happen being that it is software. I am used to V8 engines so this will be an adjustment however, I did test drive the vehicle climbing steep hills and it had no problem. I'm returning to Mercedes after leaving them since 2003 due to electrical problems of my E class back then and stayed away to due the dated technology (which I love) and found that Mercedes decided it was time to catch up with this car. Good job! The seats are comfortable (I have package 2, sport package, and sport wheels). Be aware that the 19" wheels come with run flats...something I neglected to check before purchasing the car. These tires typically cost more to replace. If you can swing it, definitely go for the panoramic roof. Definitely "opens" up the cabin to make it feel more spacious to your back seat drivers and lets in a considerable more amount of light in the vehicle while driving. The ambient lighting is a nice touch if you are impressed by that sort of thing...makes for a nice interior at night while driving and adjusts to the brightness and color that you also like. I opted for the illuminated star in the front which makes the front end stand out....just another aesthetic if you enjoy that sort of thing. I have a iPhone 6s and have found that the system works well with the phone and with Siri (holding down the talk button on the steering wheel accesses Siri's commands). Played with Apple CarPlay as well...initial thoughts is that I won't have much use for it based on the system being able to handle calls, reminders, and texts through Siri using the steering wheel. Also tried the MercedesMe remote function through their app and was able to lock, unlock, start and even send a destination to the car prior to entering it from inside the house. I found that convenient to use the app rather than having to use the car nav system to just send the address to the car. The app also has some more useful elements of setting a valet perimeter for when your car is handed off to a valet to ensure they don't exceed what ever diameter you set (you get a text). Overall, great value in this car for comparable pricing that I did with the 5 series BMW. I decided against Jaguar XF and XE due to the technology has not been advanced despite the new screen in the XE and other Jaguar parts/reliability issues I've experienced, Audi because I didn't thing the ride was a s quiet or smooth, and Lexus because their cabins too have now become a bit more noisy than I like with their louder engines you hear coming through the front of the car in the cabin. I hope this review helps others. Worth noting, this car is very new so their may be future issues/recalls that I am unaware of as I write this review. The most recent is to have the homelink programmed if your garage door does not hold your garage door opener code...it's a simple software update and it works fine now.

E300 was not ready for production.
Bought a 2017 e300 with P3 package, complaint. It is awful. It's been in the shop 4 times. Transmission issues, back up camera problems, climate control, HD radio does not work. Doors had to be slammed shut. Home Link did not work. There is still not a fix for the HD radio. It was in the shop for 2 weeks, with no resolve. It is back in the shop now for rear view camera intermittently working, climate control turning off and again to look at the HD radio. The transmission was fixed, and the body shop reset the doors on the third try. I've asked the dealer to buy it back and they won't. 12/2016. Mercedes finally agreed to buy back the car due to its inherent suspension problem. Strangely the service records say no problem found.

Buyer Beware - Please read
I've been a Mercedes owner for 10 years now, and loved my cars. I started with a C class and then three E classes after that. I just picked the 2017 E300. I've never been so disappointed... First, let me say that I'm a very experienced technology consultant. The COMMAND system is way too techie. Many features take multiple actions, sometimes 6+ if everything goes right, and it frequently doesn't because of the swipe action. This makes it incredibly distracting to the driver, I hate to say it, but I feel unsafe changing the song in my car while driving. There are way too many inconsistencies in the rest of the electronics to spell them all out, but I highly encourage any potential buyer to take the car for a minimum of a couple of hours and really test it out, especially the COMMAND system. A few small things to note. There is no CD player. The engine is a turbo charged 2.0, I was told 3.0. Voice control is fair at best, I'd call it poor myself. On three separate occasions, the COMMAND system went blank, froze, and was completely blank. The dashboard clock continued to work and the COMMAND clock stayed at the same time. Remote features via MB mbrace, a whole slew of problems, again, too many to list. The dealership told me that it's not uncommon to have some problems with a new car, but I strongly disagree. I bought a Mercedes Benz. There is an expectation that I have as a customer that they are providing a superior product, in this case, my expectations were not meet; not even close. I've never any problems with my other cars, not even close to this. Last, but not least, my check engine light came on with less than 100 miles on the car. I would say buyer beware for sure, and trust me, I hate to have to say that.

E300 fit for taxis in Europe not a luxury vehicle
Styling and interior design is great. Smaller version of S class, however the 4 cylinder engine sounds tinny and the interior materials are getting cheaper. The MBTex doesn't even wrap around the entire front seats, with no audio on, the engine noise is loud and reminds me of a smaller import, seems like MB has put in cheaper materials and lighter materials to save costs and fuel efficiency. I drove this car for a week as a loaner while they were fixing my 2014 E350. Which is much more luxurious then this newer version. I would say in Europe they use smaller engine MBs as taxis and this reminds me of one. I would not purchase this newer model and will look to others when I replace my car

What’s happen to Mercedes quality
Took procession of our 2017 E300 after turning in our 2015 E350. 2017 E300 seem like an improvement over the E350. As we drove off the dealer lot we had a check engine light. Turns out it was a bad oxygen sensor. We also had a rattle in the dashboard that had to be fixed. Drove for another 100 miles and windshield wiper motor needed replaced. Never work. Drove another 75 Miles and the passenger set has an air leak from massage system. This is crazy.

Great Driving E43
Our family already has 2 BMW's, so I came into this purchase with a bias. We bought an E43 Premium 3 after looking at other sport sedans in this price range (BMW 540, Audi S/A 6/7, Maserati Ghibli, Lexus GS were main options we considered). Even though some were slightly faster and more sporty looking, overall we chose the interior/exterior styling and capability combination of the E43. We've had it for a month now, and so far so good... and so FUN! Even though we liked the e300 when it came out, I couldn't come to grips with the 4 cylinder - so the E43 offers a sporty-driving alternative to the e300 without the race capability (and 6-figure price) of the E63. The power is great, the options are awesome - and once you get used to using voice commands (we find them quickest vs. COMMAND system menus for some functions) it's easy to master. Love Sport+ mode for fun and the option to go full-manual shift. Challenges so far: As some other reviewers, we have not been immune to software issues. We've had strangely intermittent navigation and HD radio issues, with the dealer still waiting on the latest patch for one of the issues. Software issues alone keep me from rating 5 across the board. OVERALL: After one month and 1500 miles, we would definitely do it again! 18 month update: more electronics problems and reliability issues. Have had new GPS antenna put in, front brakes replaced @ 17k miles, repair for left rear door "cable misrouted", and have had 3 tires replaced (versus 1 in all 5 of our other cars). Still drives / looks great, but we're not impressed with the quality.

Traded in a 2014 E350 and it's an upgrade.
Our lease was up on our 2014 E350, which we loved. We weren't even thinking about the new E300 because of the change from the 302 hp V6 to the 241hp turbo 4. I did have the opportunity to experience how smooth an powerful the new generation of twin turbo 4's can be as I recently also bought a BMW 328i. Two days after picking up the E300 I took it on a 500 mile trip that I did often in the 2014. There is really no discernible difference in performance between the two engines in speeds up to 90 mph. The 4 with the 9 speed transmission is incredibly smooth. The full torque is available at very low rpm so the car felt just as powerful, fast and quick as the V6. Both cars have a similar smooth ride with the new car having a little better driving dynamics. The beautiful exterior and interior styling, amazing seats with power thigh bolsters, and cutting edge safety and entertainment tech makes the new car superior to the 2014. Our new car stickered about $4k less than the 2014, but overall was better equipped. Although I don't have adaptive headlights or pano sunroof this time, having lane departure, self parking, autonomous braking, Appleplay, etc makes up for it. Don't hesitate being concerned about the shift from the 6 to the turbo 4. It makes no difference in real world driving. Compared to the BMW turbo 4, the Benz is smoother and quieter, the BMW is quicker and more athletic. The E350 was the best sedan I ever owned and the new E300 is clearly better. Surprisingly though the gas mileage is not that much better: 2 mpg on the highway - 29 for the 2014 and 31 for the new one, both 4matic. This was at average speeds of 75-80. UPDATE at 1 year. I will not be getting another Mercedes when this lease is up. Car performs well, but the technology does not work as advertised. Appleplay conks out, the screen goes blank, nav is very awkward to use, voice recognition is not very good, self Park is useless, Mercedes app doesn’t work right. Mercedes service doesn’t have answers. Beautiful car, nice highway ride, but not really an upgrade on the old E350. Next time I’ll be looking at Audi or BMW.

Avoiding Pot Holes and Manhole Covers
My wife loves this car and is her main form of transportation. I leased this car primarily because of all the advanced technology and was concerned that maybe there would be lots of maintenance issues. None so far, but to my surprise the run flat tire system got my attention--no spare! Prior to leasing I drove the car up and down the freeway that was close by and the ride was as expected. I did not look in the trunk and had no idea there wasn't a spare. (I've owned E350s for 30 years and never was there not a spare.) Living in San Diego county you get used to driving on roads with pot holes and when you hit one with this car it is really jarring and even though the car was probably engineered for these tires, there is a marked suspension bounce and a slight bit of skipping if you happen to be in a turn. You feel EVERY bump in the road with the run flats. (I also purchased a battery operated tire inflator just in case the pressure ever drops on the tires when I'm traveling in the hinterland as you are only guaranteed 50 miles running flat. Research indicates you may even have to replace the tire, which are very expensive and according to reviews are somewhat hard to find, and in worst case you wipe our the rim too--really expensive.) It is very obvious that a lot of effort has been made to reduce the weight of the car by eliminating some enhancements that used to be on the 2014. I have had almost zero maintenance issues in the 3000 miles the car has been driven, the only one is that the trunk lid does not spring fully open as it did when new causing a few head bumps. Otherwise we are very pleased with this machine--plenty of horsepower for us (85 years and counting). The ambient lighting, massaging seats, USB/Phone capability all are very pleasing. Wished they had stayed with the same navigation software as the 2014. Yes, the seats could be fully covered as before, but again that is probably a weight thing. Have not yet decided if I would purchase this car primarily due to my issues with the run flats.

Missing my 2014 E350
This is my 6th Mercedes and 4th E class. The 2017 E300 is nothing like my previous E's. I have had electrical problems, brake problems, keyless go issues and the command center freezes up. When the command center freezes, all features of the car are inoperable-the nav, phone, radio, etc. The dealership has had the car multiple times and can not seem to get everything repaired. The command center just went blank today on the way to the office today. Also, be prepared to hear squeaks and buzzes from the dash and doors. The dealership has been able to remedy SOME of them. Please don't make the same mistake I did and get 'wowed' by the 'technology'. The controls are difficult to figure out and require multiple actions for simple adjustments. Lastly, the four cylinder is not appropriate for a car of this caliber. Drive it for a long time before deciding.

Mercedes Benz - It's A Keeper!
This car is packed with state of the art technology, which I love. One day, I was driving along with my sister in heavy traffic. She said something that distracted me, and I took my eyes off the road for mere seconds when traffic came to a sudden halt. As I refocused on traffic, I was headed for a rear-end collision, and I was too close to apply enough pressure on the brake to stop the car. Thank God the electronics took over. The car started beeping, letting me know I was too close to the car in front of me while it simultaneously applied enough pressure on the brake to stop the car, avoiding an accident. Love my car; it's a keeper!

MB Makes Strategic Mistake with E Class
I have been a loyal BM owner for the past 15 years. Aside from owning or leasing MB's we have also had our share of BMW, Audi & Porsche. Needless to say that we are suckers for German Engineering. During this time I can recall that we always had an E class in the household foe us to drive. We currently have a 2015 E350 coupe which we all absolutely love. Upon bringing our vehicle to get service at our local MB dealership we were provided with a 2017 E300 as a loaner for a couple of days. Wow! I do not know where to start. Let me start by saying that the previous generation E class was by far the best MB ever produced. In total we had 4 of these vehicles and never had an issue with any of them. They were still built like mini tanks. Unfortunately, my first impression of the new 2017 E is that it drives like a hybrid. It is a complete and utter travesty to put a 4 cyl engine into this car. Newsflash MB, the E class is not your entry level model. But it gets worse as the vehicle I was provided had only 2k miles on it and parts of the dash were not assembled correctly and still had clear glue residue on the wood and plastic areas. And yes, lots and lots of plastic. The dash and console are very flimsy and have way too much movement when applied minimal pressure. This will be an issue with rattles in the future. The gauges are facing outward instead of inward which posed a problem while driving. Overall, the dashboard does not flow at all. It is 2 gauges with a big screen in the center. Very original. Can say for the rest since I only had the car for a few days but I was sure happy to receive my car back. I am still scratching my head guys. Sure enough sales on this model will be severely impacted by the poor quality of materials, engine choice, and performance. Expect a redesign and engine modification in 2 years.

2017 Mercedes Benz E300
I've had quite a few E Class Mercedes, but just tested the new 2017 and won't consider it. It is only available with a tiny, 2.0 litre 4 cylinder, about half the size of the prior E Class models sold in the US. If you are not a car person this might be ok, but I'm interested in the mechanical side of the car and this one is a loser! Under hard acceleration the car is "screaming" under the load. While MB is trying to trick customers by added two speeds to the tranny, you can't disguise the characteristics of the 4 cylinder. Open the hood, it makes the typical 4 cylinder noise. If I wanted a car with a tiny standard engine (no options) then why not get a Hyundai Excel or similar? There are AMG models coming, but only with the so called "sport" styling which is anathema to MB purists, not too mention who needs that much horsepower. A 300 HP six like Audi or BMW offer, in addition to their 4 cylinder offerings is fine. A smooth refined 6 is appropriate in a car in this class. I am aware that in Europe small engines are the norm, even in the E Class, but at least you can get a diesel that is better than the 2.0 "mouse motor". If you like cars, I'd steer clear of the 2017 E Class. Wonder what compromises MB thought they were making to make this engine mandatory. One more thing, it's a gas hog also. 24 mpg rating, my E350 with 61 HP more and faster acceleration gets 23 mpg, So what benefit does the buyer get to live with a new E class that's noisier and slower than the outgoing model? One mpg! Not a good trade off in my opinion.

2017 leftover
I got this at the end of October. It was a leftover that never sold. It was a black on black E550 loaded with the level 3 premium package, sports seats, etc., etc. Traded a 2011 E350. By far this is the most fun car I've ever driven. It fast, solid, heavy yet light and extremely agile. It only has 3,000 miles so far...but it runs very strong and has no issues. If you;re looking for great gas miles do not buy this car...but I did get 27 mpg going to Vegas and I didn't drive slow. To me...the fun and feel of being in this car offset the price of gas.

2017 E 300 4Matic CPO - Very Nice!
This is my 2 1/2 year update. I sold this car but in total put on just over 54,000 miles. I only had one warranty issue, which was the park pilot function. It stopped working and my M-B dealer fixed it quickly. Every service was performed per schedule and I had use of a no-cost loaner car at my disposal. Alternatively I had the use of the M-B dealers customer service lounge which included refreshments, work areas, etc. Overall, I would give my experience with this car 5 stars.I have now semi-retired due to health issues so I no longer have the need of an M-B vehicle for my job...I have a 1995 Miata for my daily around town driving! This is my 1 year update...forgot my 6 month...ha. So far I have brought my car in for the standard 20K (B) and 30K (A20 services...I have put 20K on the car in the first year of ownership. No unexpected issues, just regular service. All of my original impressions hold true...this is a well engineered car that has some very nice touches. I have decided that if I go with an MB again I will get the V6 or AMG version...the turbo 4 is fine for commuting, but I have a heavy foot and like speed. I do have a bone to pick with MB about their Mercedes Me app...it is awful...it fails to work on a consistent basis for the simplest, and most used feature...remote starting. If it works 50% of the time I'm shocked...seriously, hire some tech weenies and get it fixed! Otherwise, this is still a solid car. The driving dynamics are fine for what it is (luxury mid-sized car) and the ride with the air suspension is amazing. I bought my E300 4Matic as a CPO vehicle as I put 25 - 30K miles a year on my car. My car was purchased with 10K on the clock at 1 year of age, so with the 2 extra years of unlimited mileage warranty I added on top of the 1 year unlimited mile CPO warranty, I should be good until 2021 at least...and the original owner took the massive depreciation hit! I have driven the car a little over 1K miles so far without issue. My car came fully loaded with the P3 package, air ride and other goodies...the only major option missing was the very expensive $ 4.5K sound system upgrade...the standard upgraded sound system sounds good to me. I don't understand the hate for the Comand system...it is quite intuitive and I really like the controls on the steering wheel...I can control the sound system with the right hand control and never let go of the wheel...you don't have to use the center console Comand controls...and I am 56 years old and started out with stone age 70's era electronics, so go figure. I have enjoyed the Distronic system...it is quite handy on business trips...I mind the car of course but it does a good job of pacing other cars, performing freeway turns, etc. on its own. The seats are extremely comfortable and fully adjustable. The storage is fine...if I wanted more storage room I would have bought an SUV...and as noted by one reviewer, the rear seat folds down completely and offers a lot of room in a pinch. Regular maintenance costs will be high...but it is an M-B and you should have know that going in...ALL luxury vehicle maintenance costs are high. I will update this review at 6 months of ownership to see how all the electronics are holding up. Right now I am completely satisfied!

The perfect blend of sport and luxury
Driven in comfort mode, regardless of speed, this car is a paragon of luxury: amazing seats, comfortable ride, near total silence. Flick the dynamic switch to sport plus and you get a fire breathing, curve slicing rocket that is as fast and swift handling as any road car has a right to be, the near silence replaced by an excellent engine tune that is loud enough not to be annoying! The car simply seems to hover over the pavement regardless how abruptly or hard its driven. There is no squat, nose dive or lean. The engine is powerful and responsive at any speed, the transmission seems to divine the right gear for seamless, effortless thrust! Fuel economy is very good for the level of performance, I have been achieving exactly the EPA estimates. The interior is simply superb, excellent materials and fit and finish. After you drive a car with dynamic seat bolsters everything seems a little less special. Even the rear seats are a very nice place to be. The command system is a huge improvement over the previous version of the system and works amazingly with the dual screen dash which offers HD level graphics. The additional AMG modes for both the screens and the heads up display add another layer of wow factor. The standard Burmester audio is excellent and fully appreciated given the almost anechoic chamber level quietness that the quiet comfort package provides. Definitely a home run from Mercedes Benz-AMG. 15000 mile update: Still thrilled with the E43. This far it has been flawless. The perfect 4 season sport sedan. We celebrated spring at Road America! m.youtube.com/watch?v=LcsYy6Gy1WA Update 2020: Still loving it. Zero issues. I have successfully calmed my impulses to trade for a new E63. The E 43 is still a more than worthy alternative to the full blown AMG Godzilla 😁

I loved my Mercedes E350, but my E300 is unsafe
The navigation on my E300 is so full of bugs that it's risky to use it. For example, when I take a route that the car did not intend, it has trouble adjusting. After I changed my route yesterday, it told me to make a right turn (and then discovering that a right turn was not possible, told me a few seconds later to make a left turn. I strongly recommend that Mercedes fix the navigation in all 2017 E300s before someone gets killed using their navigation. Mercedes should also encourage E300 customers who have iPhones to use Apple Car Play for navigation.

Disapponited
I bought this car in July and in less than one week the dashboard started rattling. Few weeks later, the check engine light came on with less than 80 miles. The car was at the dealership for more than three weeks and several trial-and-error attempts were made to repair the check engine light. Finally, they diagnosed the problem and it was repaired by replacing some computer parts and some components in the transmission. This problem should not have happened in any brand new car, especially in a luxury car. I have driven two loaner cars of the same model and they all had the dashboard rattling which is a manufacturing defect. This is my first Mercedes Benz and I am very disappointed with its quality and reliability. I have had a 2014 BMW 528i and several Japanese cars and never had these defects.

Command Module Fail and other issues
The first issue I have is the way the extras are packaged. If you want safety be prepared to pay a lot extra for what is standard on many other cars today. The biggest fail is the overpriced command center. The GPS is a complete joke but if you want other options you have to but it. Unreliable and inaccurate and overpriced. Required multiple return visits to the dealer (Manhattan Mercedes) to "fix" but I still use Waze on my cell phone as I simply don't trust the MB navigation system to a) get me to where I want to go and b) navigate me around traffic jams (yes I have Sirius for traffic). The command center user interface is so badly programmed that I simply don't bother using . Connecting my phone - I can't even upload all me contacts. Not enough memory. In this day and age how can anyone restrict the phone's memory? This is another feature I don't bother with. The much vaunted MBrace is another failure. My wife used it once an waited more than 4 hours for service when she hit a pothole and blew 2 tires in Manhattan and MBrace couldn't even locate her or were too lazy to look so they asked her what her location was. MB was so embarrassed that they paid for the wheel repairs. This leads me to the next problem - wheel repair. They did such a poor job that the car had to go back 4 times to get it fixed. What really ticked me off was the service reports that stated that the car was operating within MB specifications - MB must have pretty low standards! On the last visit it was finally fixed but MB delivered the car with paper strewn all over the passenger side and they left the paper floor mat for me to throw away. The last problem is on MB Manhattan poor quality control problem. When it comes to choosing a car I look at the not only the performance but at the creature comforts. Much like flying today. All reliable so I look at how much seat and overhead space I have, do I get a full can of diet Coke and a bag of pretzels and a skinny person next to me. So I look at MB the same way. The car is great and the engineering may be brilliant but so are BMW, Lexus, Audit and I take that as a given and then I look at the features like the Command Center and find that it is seriously lacking and this detracts significantly from my driving enjoyment. Be prepared to be frustrated by a clunky unreliable Command Center - it really sucks.

Nothing but PROBLEMS!!!!
I purchased this car in October. It's now June 30th. My car is currently in the MB service dept. It has been there this time so far 19 days!!! The car has been back to service dept. at least 7 times since I have gotten the car. Had to be towed once. There is some kind of a major issue with this car that they are unable to figure out. Since I got the car, when I put it in reverse to back out of my parking spot, it sounds like metal is being torn apart. each time the replace things thinking they resolved the problem. I get the car back and a day or 2 later it all starts again. Not only that, but each time they find something else wrong with the car!!! This is unbelievable that a car of this expense has caused me nothing but aggravation every time I get in it!!!!

Mercedes Lover No More
The 2017 E300 is my 9th MB and I have always had great experiences with these vehicles until now. The car itself is beautiful and comfortable but from DAY ONE the technology has been an awful experience. The primary problem is the "Live Traffic" overlay on navigation. From delivery it took almost two months to get it to work consistently. When the problem was finally "resolved" it still worked intermittently meaning there were one day periods each week when it did not work. Recently it stopped working, again, and has not worked at all for two weeks. Mbrace, MD's customer service program (which costs $285/year!) has been absolutely useless in solving the problem, telling me to go to the provider, Sirius. Wait a minute... I paid MB for the car, I paid MB for Brace and you are telling me to do the legwork to call YOUR supplier?? BTW, Sirius totally useless in solving the problem as well. Another issue is how long it takes for the Command infotainment system to boot upon starting the car. The squirrels inside have to wake up I guess. This is Mercedes Benz?? So, I am done. This is the last Mb I will own. Buyers beware.

love my new e class
only have the car a couple of weeks, less than a thousand miles. this is primarily my wife's car and I have not heard ONE complaint since she started driving it, quite the opposite. so that alone makes it a great buy. we had the homelink problem but the dealer fixed it in about an hour. i pretty much like everything about this car except it could probably use the v6. it's actually got me thinking about trading in my range rover sport for an mb estate. takes a bit of time to get the interfaces down, but once you start getting it it's not that bad.

A disappointing surprise
I have previously owned three MB E-Class cars, with complete satisfaction. Now comes the new E-Class with impressive design and high tech features, but a very disappointing engine. The acceleration is poor and it runs out of steam above 80 mph. The options list is large and can bring the price, with a V-6, to the mid eighties. I ended up buying a Lexus LS 460, a far superior car in every way, for a lot less money.

Nice car with lots of bells and whistles
Lots of technology but the interface falls flat... most of the functions of the car require you to look away from the road in order to activate them or shut them off. I also own a BMW and their technology is (most of the time) centered around the driver and are much easier to use.

Excellent Car
I love this s car. It’s the 4th MB I’ve owned. It has powerful V6, double turbo, RWD. Comfortable, fast and smooth. Totally recommended.

Over all I'm happy with the car. The only thing is when going on bumpy roads you feel a lot of vibrations.

2017 E Class Benz is Still Perfect Just Like Me!
7 years later, and my Mercedes Benz E Class continues to be perfect, just like me! This is a Baby S Class but with more technology. Any complaints you read with any of these reviews about the small engine size has come from men with small engines of their own, and need a larger car engine to compensate for what they lack in human horse power. This engine is quick, fast, quiet, and gets great gas mileage. The interior of this Mercedes E Class is what really sets it apart from a BMW 5 Series, Lexus, and Audi. There is no comparison, as the class and WOW FACTOR that this car exudes will make BMW 5 Series owners cringe even more with their Mercedes Benz jealousy than they normally do. The over 12 inch navigation screen and 64 color ambient lighting that run throughout the front and back of the car are simply stunning. If you are looking to drive the best of the best, and like to watch your neighbors drop their jaw when you pull in your driveway, purchase an E Class and set yourself apart from the rest of the pack, just like me!

Cachet name, but ...........
I drove the new E class as I was contemplating a new lease deal. Unfortunately, this new E class with the 4 cylinder turbo engine was not as good as it's ancestor. The old sport 4 door E350 with the larger six cylinder engine was larger, quicker, quieter, had a better ride. IMHO the new E300 was a disappointment. For a car which lists over $50,000 leather seats were not even standard (they had vinyl seats called leatherette). Not what you would expect in a car of this class. I did read Consumer Reports prior to test driving the E300 and I would agree with their objective 50 test assessment. The E300 was not a top 10 luxury car selection. On their suggestion I am presently deciding between a Infiniti Q70 and a Lexus GS350. Both are very RELIABLE and are fun to drive. IMHO, every car has its quirks but you just don't too many of them. Read CONSUMER REPORTS then do some driving before you lease/buy.

Not as advertised "a supercomputer on wheels".
I bought the 2017 during the first week it was available in the US and now have 23k miles on the car. Overall, I like the way it drives and have been getting great gas mileage - in line with the published targets. The con's: My trim package that was advertised as having every available semi-autonomous feature. Pre-release, I even saw MB sponsored internet demonstrations with this car parking itself via the remote app while the driver stands outside. Beware, this car is not capable of keeping itself in a lane without constant support and is not, therefore, semi-autonomous. The dealer no longer provides updates on when I will be able to park it remotely via the phone app. Even a feature as simple as the MB remote starting feature has worked less than 50% of the time over the past 2 years with countless updates performed to the app. Each time the app is updated, a stated reason is to improve stability and availability of the remote starting system. As others have stated, nothing about the interface is intuitive or easy for a driver to operate and the voice response system feels like a bad joke from the 1990's. Come on Mercedes, hire some talent from Google to take over the cars user experience programming and software quality control before its too late! Overall experience: underwhelmed.

Do Not Consider
Between my wife and I we have at least 8 Mercedes. On or about late August we both leased and had delivered two 300E sedans. Hers was fine, mine with 40 miles on it got caught on a parking bumper and the entire front came off. When I picked it up at the body shop I learned there was already the same model in the shop for the same reason, the model could not have been out more than three weeks. I was out of pocket $600 and my insurance company out $3000. I measure the front of my car and it was just under 3" from the ground. My wife's was 6", when I inquired from the dealer I was advised that warning lights come on when the car comes to a bumper. It happen again at a 1000 miles and again towed to Mercedes. Mercedes Financing and USA refused to do anything about my second event and advised from Maria at USA the warning lights come when something in front of the car; but, not as low as three inches. So there the car sits at a dealer building storage charges and on my way court.

A good car that should have been great.
It is an expensive car. It is technologically far more complicated than it should have been. Simple maintenance is very expensive. The warrantee should be longer with maintenance included. The electronics are badly designed. The NAVI system is incredible complicated. I will often use my smart phone instead when needing an address. I wrote the new young president of my concern. As yet no response. I guess they are tied up with the new stadium.

Comand System much too complicated
I have had several Mercedes prior to this one. I loved my E350 and leased the E300 when that lease was up. I am completely disappointed with the entertainment system. I am somewhat of a techie so I usually enjoy playing with complicated systems. Not this one. I dropped Sirius and signed up for the Internet hotspot figuring that I would use iHeartRadio instead. Big mistake. The car kept losing the internet signal ("Connected; No Internet") even though I was in densely populated and internet active parts of the Northeast. It took too many scrolls and pushes to get a radio station - forget about changing stations even as the passenger. Changing between cell phones for Bluetooth is another disaster - everything takes multiple swipes, scrolls, etc... Ridiculous. I'm dumping the Internet hotspot and signing up again for Sirius because it is the lesser of two evils. Even playing Amazon Music from my cell phone via Bluetooth requires too much work. It's a shame. I just leased a GLA250 (much less expensive starter SUV for my mother) and the entertainment package there is much simpler and much more basic. The good news is that both the driver and passenger can use it without thinking that they will cause a crash. When my lease is up in 1.5 years, I'm not sure whether I will lease another MB if the Comand package remains as complicated -- and dangerous -- as it is now. The rest of the car is fine and lives up to the standards I expect from MB. The entertainment system, however, is a huge dealkiller.

A sporty E300!
Love this car! Handles great and after an 8 hour drive I don't feel like I have driven that far. I get 33 MPG on interstate driving at and above limits. Look and feel inside is great; controls are a little bit of a learning curve but all is intuitive.
Luxury abound but underpowered
Full of luxury options but should have had a bigger engine option for the real drivers.

CRAP
The most expensive junk I ever bought. Starting with poor delivery when the dealer scratch the entire clear coat and make it looks like two year old car. Sorry unless they were looking after me and they did it so I don't have to get upset when someone else will put a scratch on it. LOL. And now on top of it we getting all the recalls and the whole middle console broke. Great. DON'T BUY IT.

Great new E-Class
I have owned three Mercedes E-Class sedans and this is, by far the best. The styling is classic Mercedes, yet very up-to-date. The redesign of the instrumentation is excellent, greatly simplifying the number of buttons. Operation of the radio, navigation, telephone, etc. is easy after a short learning curve. The car is comfortable and has great touches, such as the active side support as one goes through a turn. My car has the basic turbocharged engine. It provides plenty of acceleration, especially when using sport mode when on-ramping a freeway. Great car.

A Very Strong 4-Cylinder
I love the way this car drives. I’ve enjoyed it now for 8,000 miles. I had a irritating vibration on the front dash that the dealer quickly resolved, but I’ve had no other problems. It’s a smooth, quiet ride with good get-up and go. I feel safe driving on ice-snowy roads. It took time to learn some of the tech features, but the videos helped. I’m impressed with all of the tech features. The trunk is a bit small, but works for two people. Overall, it’s a keeper.
All the Luxury sedan you’ll ever need !
This vehicle is absolutely beautiful and loaded with technology. A respectable head turner with aggressive yet conservative lines. The interior is second to none compared to other sedans in its class, and the ambient light never gets old , I never want to leave this cockpit. The only thing I would change about this car would be it’s speed. The four cylinder and 9-speed transmission is smooth and quick, but it’s missing something. Overall proud owner love my Big Body Benz !

2017 E-Class is best car to ride in
THe 2017 E-Class 300 is my sixth Mercedes and by far the most comfortable to drive and sit in as a passenger. Much seems to be said about the small trunk, but nobody mentions that the back seat fold down in all versions of the sedan, and that extra room helps transport a lot of stuff/gear. I personally go skiing in it and have extra long (205 cm) skies that fit just fine inside the car. Though the infotainment systems take time to get used to, the level of control/refinement is awesome. It took 2 hours to walk through the features (with dealer) after buying the car. But once set they are easy to find/use. Moving the drive from comfort to economy makes the car get over 30 MPG, even in the mountains of Colorado. I am always surprised going up Eisenhower tunnel when I notice how I am zipping by other cars struggling to make it up the 11,000 foot high tunnel. I am usually going 75 mph up the steep tunnel incline. When in the mode I set (sport engine, comfort body and sport steering) I zoom along better than my 6 cylinder on my last E350. Apple CarPlay works well, though I leave it on the Mercedes system a lot of the time. Overall this car feels luxurious like no other when you sit inside and all the time you are in the interior. If anything, the outside could use a little more style. Best car I have owned and best car to ride in, and I have ridden in all of the competitors. Update after 13,000 additional miles. We drove cross country with his car and were amazed at the comfort that the E300 provides. From Colorado to California and winding through several stages for 2,700 miles we averaged 32 MPG. When on a long stretch of the freeway I keep the car in “economy mode” while driving 78 MPH. With one long flat stretch I calculated 38 MPG. Still an awesome car at 21,000 miles.

Happy Mercedes 2017 E 300 owner
My first Mercedes was an SL, then an S class, then an M Class and now an E class. I have always been a happy Mercedes owner and the 2017 Mercedes C300 is as enjoyable as all the other Mercedes I have owned. Exterior style wise, I think if one removed the badges, it would not even earn a second look. Interior style wise, it is awesome. Technology wise, it rates an awesome as well. The car is comfortable to drive, the sound system is top notch, it has great acceleration and great mpg. The black center console is a disappointment. I think it should match the wood trim selected, and the newer models have that. I have the burl walnut trim and it looks to me like the fake wood in a Buick. But it is real (I think). There is a very innovative storage compartment in the trunk which expands and contracts, as necessary At first, the start/stop only worked occasionally, and now it does not work at all. I am sure Mercedes will remedy that upon the next service appointment. Mercedes of Manhattan treats me like royalty every time I go for service. So, I look forward to the service appointments. When I decided to trade in my M class, I was looking for a smaller car and test drove or was given courtesy cars for all the smaller versions and even a few E class courtesy cars. For six continuous weeks, Mercedes of Manhattan gave me different courtesy cars, thus my high opinion of them, but not the only reason. I had to go with the E class for the interior, even though it was larger than I wanted. I do not like the ipad look of the interiors of the smaller Mercedes, the A class didn’t offer burl walnut as a trim option, and I did not like the dash of the S class. The ambient lighting feature does not do anything for me, and I doubt anyone would purchase a car because of the feature, but it comes with. I tried the self-parking feature about a dozen times and each time it worked flawlessly. For me, it is too stressful. I am certain my car is going to hit another car, although it never has. But it is a cool feature. I can park my own car, especially easy with the cameras. The car is loaded with features that take some time to become comfortable with or knowledgeable of. I often visit YouTube review to learn tips and tricks. The black center console is the only think I would change. The body style does not impress me as the SL, S and even the M class did. Nor does the body style impress me as the smaller models do. Most of my time is spent inside the car, and that does impress me. I am past the age where I feel that the car defines me, so the exterior blandness is a non-issue to me. I am not trying to impress with this car. I do want a car that I enjoy, and this car does that.

Buy a Wagon
Our MB wagon has answered all our questions. Convenient, classy, comfortable, and beautiful. Love the upgraded interior. The run-flat tires are horrible; noisy, rough riding, and not sport handling. We've owned many MB and they just don't make them like they use to. Paint finish is rough, replacement batteries for fuel saving, (motor off when stopped), and key fob, have a 6 month life span. Much wind noise. Looks like a LS in our future.

still waiting for air bag
it's almost 2021 and Mercedes still does not have a replacement air bag for the recalled airbag. we can not get a honest answer about this.
safety issues
This car since I leased it 3 moths ago had many electronic issues, the car was suppose to have accident prevention system which should stop when the car may have a colision if the driver doesn't stop . I have involved in minor accident as I didn't see the car on te dide front stopped suddenly while turning , obviously the car did not stop. I compainted to Mercedes USA and they claimed the car was working properly. So my question is how can they claim this as a safety features?! This was exactly the car was supposed to do, stop! This is a complete misrepresentation from Mercedes-Benz USA. The car also is too expensive for lease.

Best in Class
Superior styling, excellent technology, spacious interior, seats and ride more comfortable than prior E class, don't even notice the change from 6 to 4 cylinder in everyday driving but notice the mpg improvement. The only negatives I have noticed to date is the electric brake release can be glitchy and exterior noise.

Over a Year in: this beauty keeps my attention
Leased the red version of this car with Premium package. Brown interior. Pros: Voice activated navigation is incredible. Works 90% of the time the first time. I don't use Waze or Apple Carplay - the navigation is that good. Safe: Almost too safe. It prevents you from doing anything stupid like: Opening the door when the car is in Drive. It puts car in park. Backing up when the trunk is open. Nope. Rear cross traffic saved me from backing into a passing car in a parking lot. Literally stopped the car. It's incredibly quick for a daily driver. Sport mode is surprisingly fast around town. Rotary dial is great and the volume control next to it was a wise choice. Auto start stop is smoother than other cars I've driven. Wireless charging - How do all cars not have this by now? It's also in a place where I can't see the screen which is safe. This car is incredibly beautiful. The main screen is larger than anything else on the road. I find people just staring at the navigation it's so bright and colorful. Cons: Apple CarPlay. Plugging it in is one issue. Second, it crashes all the time. I think it's Apple's issue. The parking sensors are sensitive in a garage and loves to put on the brakes. I guess that's to be expected. Triples the time to get out of the garage (from 2 to 6 seconds). There is no leather smell. Leather is not standard. NFC sensor above the wireless charger is terrible. Keeps putting my iphone into apple pay mode when I put it in the slot to charge. This is the biggest issue of this car because it occurs every time I get into the car. The place you rest your palm when using the rotary dial is also touch sensitive. Sometimes it gets confused. This is more of a nit along the lines of being old. The parking brake is always on even while in Drive. At stop lights and so on the brake is on until you hit the gas. Once you get used to it, it's awesome. There is no rolling backward or forward.
