Almost two months in.....

I have had my 2004 E-320 almost two months and it is running fine. I didn't get the $2000 phone. The folks at RBM said that I should be ok using my cell phone because others have used theirs and had no problem. Just got back from Savannah and the ride was great! A couple of glitches (1 the feature to open all windows and moon roof at once dosen't allways work and 2) the passenger side mirror doesn't allways turn down to show the curb in reverse. No mechanical problems (knock on wood).

I got my E500 in October 2003. It was a beautiful and incredibly fast sedan. By February 2004 it would spend a month at the dealer with a bum transmission and audio system. My dealer was terrific and allowed me to trade the car for another E500. The first one I ordered came in with a bad ignition system. Then, finally, Mercedes swapped cars and another car was ordered. This one came in with a bad brake system. By now I had it with no confidence in the E class. Any chance of a refund was between me and M-B. So, with no desire to be David vs. Goliath, I accepted the car after it was repaired and then the next day drove it to my Jaguar dealer for an S- Type.

After 1900 miles on my new $60,000 vehicle, I' ve had to have the front end replaced due to failure in cross arms and bushings. I thought maybe I it was an unusual occurance. I'm now at 4800 miles and 45 days later. Oh I'm on my way back to the dealer with the same problem. I 'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem???

This has been an absolutely fun car to drive. It has an incredible amount of power and quickness. I smile everytime I step on the gas. Very smooth and stylish. I own several Mercedes and this is certainly the most fun to drive so far. I also live in a northern climate and when it snows the 4matic is excellent, it will motor right through the snow.

After having a 2002 C 240, I decided to upgrade to the 04 E320. I am rarely ever in the shop. With the C Class I was there Twice a week and finally had the car bought back under the lemon law. The E320 is a stiff Sold Ride with not enough power. The Styling is Very Classy but Plain. Its a nice looking car, but only when real clean and in nice colors. Gas Mileage is excellent and Naviagtion is a Life Saver. Handles excellent. I think I would have been 100% Satisfied if I got the E- 500. If I had the power, I could not say anything bad. I will be upgrading to the E500 in 16 Months. I woudl recommend this car to anyone looking for the finest 4 Door Sedan Made.

I have only had this car for a week, so this review is obviously limited. Traded up from a 1997 Lexus E300. This car is beautiful, with a smooth powerful drive. Checked out VIN w/dealership to make sure it was not part of the recalls (on Edmunds) --so far have not had any mechanical/electrical problems for which Mercedes is becoming quickly known. Disappointed that leather seats are not as cushy as Lexus and are not even an option on E500. Also, Nav system is somewhat complicated to program.

Iwas reticent to purchase an MB. My prefeence was the Lexus 430 but, it is big and clunky much like a Cadillac. This 500e has the looks, performance, power and luxury I sought. My confidence in the vehicle has been verified in driving the car and asking it to deliver power, when necessary.

Warning to other potential buyers: been through 7 recalls on the SBC brakes and other electrical problems. This lousy vehicle needed a wheel alignment at only 6000 miles and the warranty only cover the labor and not parts and guess what? parts costs over $220 to set the steering straight. Pretty pathetic for a pampered vehicle that is only driven on the weekends

I bought this car on Mercedes reputation of quality. It turns out that it is the worst car I have ever owned. It has been in the shop 3 times and I have only owned the car 3 months! Even after all that time in the shop the car is still not fixed. The electrical systems on these cars is a disaster. DO YOUR RESEARCH before buying this car. Check the online forums dedicated to the E class cars and see what real owners are saying about their cars and how Mercedes is treating their customers - it is not a pretty picture!

Have only had it for 2 months -- less than 1000 miles. Superb quailty. Quietest car I've ever owned. Gorgeous interior. Peppy acceleration. Sporty and sleek exterior. No problems so far.. Some people have complained about the "hard to modulate" brakes, but I havn't had any trouble using them. And the brakes are quite strong.

Best car I have ever owned and I now wonder why I did not consider MB before now. The c class is affordable and something I could have managed financially before the e class model. Overall MB is superior in many ways. I drove researched every sedan and SUV between $30K and $60k and think the E320 is perfect with regard to size, price, performance and options. I highly recommend the phenomenal voice- activated phone package with includes CD and radio. It makes it as safe or safer than listening to the radio while driving.

Excellent handling and stability with an almost surgical attachment to the road when cornering a little too fast for those hairpin turns. Pickup very good although I debated between the 320 and the 500 won out, I almost wish I went for the E55 AMG which would have taken my horses from 302 to 467. Reliability as compared to my 2002 ML is far in away better although I've got under 10k miles and have yet to see the yellow ! go on for any AWD action. Contour seats seem to breathe around you and those bladders fill and empty whenever you take a curve at high speed and it senses the g forces to hold you firmly in place. And the girls seem to like it also.

This our fourth Merecedes: 1980 450 SL, 1981 300SD, 1990 300E, and a 2004 E320. Drove the SD 10 years, 200,000 miles. My wife totaled the 300E in six months, when an 18 wheeler pushed her into a bridge on I75. But she walked away whole, only a red nose from an airbag. We have owned Jaguar, Lincoln, and Cadilac. My wife, now very safety conscious, drives a beautiful 2000 Volvo S80. These are fine vehicles, but none, including the Mercedes, compare with the 2004 E320. For my driving taste, my 04 E320 Mrcedes is the nearly perfect machine, by far the finest car I have ever owned.

I am very happy with my new E-320 4matic sedan. I love the premium features that I added to the car, but it would have been nice if more of these features were included in the base price. Adding the many extra options definitely increases the purchase price. However, considering the safety of this vehicle and the overall quality and my initial driving experience, I would highly rate this vehicle.

Compared MBE320 with BMW 530 03- heavily discounted(04 model not arrived) and the 04 Audi A6. - MB had quiet, solid, fine-manuevering agility. We liked that this was the 2nd year of this particular car remodeling.Felt electronic issues in the redesigned 03 model would be worked out by 04.Liked MB loaner car option. Liked having 2 MB large dealerships to negotiate price with. -BMW 530had a smaller interior, driving more like a sports car.Thought redesigned 04 might have glitches like the 03 MB did.Local dealership had poor service reviews. Audi was nice! Liked the all-wheel drive feature at $10,000 less than the MB & BMW. Jeep loaner?

I traded a 1997 5-Series BMW,which I enjoyed in every way. Looked at and drove the 2004 5-Series BMW and left the dealership with negative views on its appearance and interior features. I tried the E320, gave it the same drive and bought it on the spot. Both my wife and I are enjoying it. We have lost our thoughts of BMW for the time being.

Even though I have only owned my MB E500 for 2 weeks, I can tell you that it is an amazing automobile. I have been a faithful BMW buyer for the last 15 years, and after owning my first "benz" I'll never buy anything else. What a well built automobile this is. And if you need trunk space, look no further, huge amount of trunk space, unbelievable. Just an all around extremely well built automobile, and a very safe vehicle to boot. You couldn't ask for anything more.

The car is well built with great safty features, great style, and great options (if you're willing to pay for them). The only problem I am having is with the braking system. Every time you let off the brakes a computer humming sound happens for a couple of seconds. Mercedes says that is normal. The problem is sometimes the humming is so bad that it rattles the dash. Will soon take in to service for a second time. I have noticed the computer system sometimes misreads but hopefully very minor and not too often. Other than that it is a great car.

This is my first MB (2004 E320)and it is a very nice car that handles extremely well, looks like it was engineered and put together well and looks good. Handles like I would imagine a German car should handle. After reading owners manual I was a bit dissapointed to find out that I couldn't use my cell phone without an external antenna (could interfere with electronics). But I may opt for the $2000 phone. I'll post more feed back as I put a few more miles on this car. So far a great car!

I've only owned my E500 for a few weeks, but at this point I'm thrilled with it. My previous car was a 2001 BMW 530i and it was great, too, but the solid ride and creature comforts make the E Class a better car to spend a lot of time in. One questionable area is the feel of the brakes. They are difficult to modulate and the pedal is mushy.

The dealer picked up the vehicle and found a "software installation" problem. I haven't had a problem with the vehicle since. Even though this is the most expensive vehicle I have ever owned, by 20K (the last was a Vette), I really feel I got my moneys worth.

I have had BMW, Porsche, Lexus, and other Mercedes in the past. My E500 Sport is almost all those cars combined into one. It is sporty, comfortable, and classy. The power is simply smooth and strong. I love this Mercedes.
