Used 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Consumer Reviews
Bob Doud's Review
I bought the car new in March, 2003. It is fun to drive and gets excellent fuel economy. I have never got less than 20 MPG. The car "turns eyes" wherever we go. In late June - early July we took cross country road trip. The ride was extremely comfortable for both me and my two passengers. Mileage averaged about 25 MPG for the trip (over 8,500 miles total). Extremely quiet and comfortable even at high speeds. Only one problem - that was with the audio system going out. They just got a "fix" - so should not be a problem in the future. I have been very satisfied with every aspect of owning and driving the vehicle.
Only the outside rear view mirror....
I'm finally driving my new E320 2003 Sport package. No doubt superior in handling and looks that the plain E 320. Everything looks perfect. Only minor observations. The outside rear view mirror, on the driver's side, could very well be turned more to have a better, and safer, look, at incoming traffic when waiting to get into an expressway from a 45 degree intersection with a stop sign. Also the gas lid could be as solid as in previous models. Also the screen is too small. Time for corrections. Warning! MB dealers are slowly looking more and more like American automobile dealers. Watch out!

2003 e-500
2003 e-500 has a very mushy ride, out of touch with the road, interior is way too light colored but few interior color choices, confusing controls, ordinary styling, has been robbed of mercedes qualities. out of touch with the driver, I'll drive my 1999 E-320 thanks, now that's a mercedes. would not buy again!
Very Pleased
This car has it all - looks, style, comfort and performance. Inside and out, it is the best looking sedan on the market today. Sure, you pay a little premium, but that is more than offset by the quality and extremely high resale value. I have never owned a Mercedes - buying BMWs, Lexus, Jags and Porsches in the past. I have been pleasantly surprised with the E and see myself in Benz's in the future. PS - has anyone seen what BMW is doing with their cars lately - what is up with that (inside AND out)!!!!
My First Mercedes
And most likely, my last. In the past eight months the car has been in the shop eight times for nearly 20 days. I broke my longstanding rule of never buying the first year of a new model and I'm really paying for it now. Build quality is horrible. In addition, my dealer's service center is the most disorganized and poorly run I have ever encountered. I miss my Lexus.
