1997 E320

Very nice and still feels updated even at 5 years old. MB put features on this 1997 car that are just now showing up on 2002 Japanese and American vehicles. Ride, power and comfort are a perfect blend between sport and high end luxury. Safety is of upmost importance and all you need is in this car.

Don't get me wrong here, Mercedes-Benz makes some great cars and I believe this is one of the greatest. My mom had it first, then she bought the 2000 S-Class and gave this to me. this car has great pick-up speed, never looks old really, and it's simple and practical luxury. Catches the eye everywhere you go and never ashamed to valet park. I think it's their best sedan.

Long term owner here. zI've had 4 MB Diesels over the years and the straight 6 engine is legendary; robust and thrifty. I do most all my own work and love the engineering that goes into MB products. I use the diesels as my daily commuter and for trips. I get over 32 mpg and its comfortable and quiet.

Severely disappointed

Bought this car used from the original owner in 2002, with only 16,000 miles on it, and thought "what could go wrong with such low mileage". Plus my intention was to only drive this car to and from work, which averages about 8,000 miles/year. Well, first the electrical wires to the driver's side front headlights kept "coming lose", which cost $400.00 to fix. Then the A/C went out, along with oil leakage and transmission problems, which totaled to $5,000.00. I wish I have stayed with buying Toyota or Subaru, which are far more reliable.

Purchased in March of 2006 w/98,000 miles on it. Now I have 190,000 on it. Only got stranded once out of town. You better have some deep pockets for this bad boy. 1,000 on suspension just for the front driver side and the passenger is going any minute, leaked oil rapidly since day one, put oil in like buying gas! Lights always need replaced at 20-30$ a pop. Need radiator 700, need tie-rods 7 once the body starts to rust goodbye! Got my money worth by using it for work, if not for that would be angry. Plus this model looks so outdated since new models have came out... Got me a 2003 BMW 530i and it runs circles around this car in every category. Go BMW, if you got this car sell it now! Today!
