This is my 5th new Mercedes Benz that I have purchased and the second C300. I also drive the heck out of my cars. I maintain them well, but I drive them hard. I go through at least 2 sets of top quality all season sets of tires per car per year. I buy the C300's as cheap commuters and live on Highway 9 and commute into Silicon Valley daily for work. I typically buy more fully loaded GL and E Class's for my wife. This car replaced my 2015 C300 which was the 1st year for the new body style and it was as great car. This car is a significant improvement in every way. My first C300 (2015) had a number of upgrades and was a great car. However, I didn't get too many upgrades. I had command, LED's, Burmeister (if you get the standard stereo you will regret it as it is terrible), Keyless Go & upgraded wheels. My 2018 C300 is completely loaded. Leather, Command, premium, parking pilot with 360 cameras, LED lights, upgraded wheels, Burmeister Stereo, heated and cooled front seats, wood inlay wheel, active lane keeping assist, active cruise control (semi-autonomous), Keyless Go, electric trunk assist, even the silly cabin fragrances. The first thing I noticed is that this C300 was the first one I have EVER driven that FELT like a Mercedes. For example, when I get in my wife's E-Class, it FEELS and drives like a Mercedes. Meaning that its doors close like a bank vault and there is little to no external sound except on the roughest roads. My wife's car feels heavier too but not in a bad way, more like a powerful and sleek way. My old 2015 C300 was a fun little car but it felt very light and I never felt as comfortable throwing it around on mountain roads like I used to do with the 3 series BMW that it replaced. It was quiet inside but not nearly as nice as my wife's E-Classes have always been. Now this new 2018 feels like a completely different car than the 2015. For starters it has a 9-speed transmission vs. the 7-speed in the 2015. The 7-speed was quite capable, but it felt less refined (by a lot) and held gears so long in sport + mode that the engine noise was shriller than thrilling. chunky is the best way to describe it's shifting. The 2018 9 speed transmission reminds me of the Old Thai Airline's motto "Smooth as Silk". The new transmission means that the cars now drives more like a lighter faster version of the normally aspirated E350 V6. I own both, so I can tell you that it is a very nice feeling. Gone too is the HORRIFIC Turbo Lag of the 2015 4-banger in the old C300. I was nearly T-Boned in Tahoe last year pulling out of a gas station as my 2015 more than once in Tahoe just basically STOPPED responding to the gas pedal when pulling out into traffic at the Lake (not at high altitude) when the temperatures were under 45 degrees F. Also, the old 2015 I felt was unsafe to drive in the green lit "eco mode", it was like driving an early 1980's vintage dodge 4 cylinder when you put it into "eco mode". Now the 2018 doesn't do that, it is extremely smooth, powerful and a joy to drive. I loved my old 2015, but I had to adjust myself to its quirks. In my new 2018 C300 I feel like I do when I get into a much more expensive Mercedes. It handles and accelerates like a dream. On the interstate the engine, cabin and especially the seats allow you to take even long trips with ease and arrive refreshed. Like the 2015 the styling is superb, and the car is a head turner. Also in defense of my 2015 C300, I had zero problems with it in the 3 years I owned it. The C-Class is EXTREMELY reliable. I have owned quite a few Mercedes and BMW's over the years. However, on my commuter vehicles I usually feel like I have to make a lot of compromises. However, I have to say that I do not feel like I had to make any compromises with the new 2018 C300. The car is a blast to drive and delivers on the promise of the Mercedes Benz brand.

I’ve now owned my C43 AMG 4Matic for a year. Overall, I’m happy; yet, it’s not been a perfect experience by any means. I’ll start with the “bad.” It spent nearly three weeks at the dealership to fix a severe oil leak at 2k miles (Leaks =?more appropriate) The oil pan wasn’t properly sealed at the factory, and in two places the line to the turbo leaked. That was frustrating, if not unsettling. Despite being dangerously low on oil, the notification msg only came on late into the problem. I’ve also had to have the passenger wiper motor replaced. Cosmetically, the panel between the moonroof and the windshield has a paint defect of some kind that makes it look like it’s been parked in the sun for a few decades. No amount of polishing/buffing has helped. It’s just the one panel though, and while I’ve not pushed the issue, technically MBUSA’s warranty coverage excludes this item. The infofrustration system is just stupid as hell. I don’t even attempt to enter GPS destinations anymore—luckily the Mercedes Me app is simple, fast, intuitive, and can send your destination info to your car with zero fuss. MB uses a subscription model for a lot of its connectivity functions, and the price is way too high for what you get. (Dear Mercedes—I just paid $67k for your vehicle. Can ya toss me a bone and just comp the subscription for more than a few months initial trial period? No? Okay.) The ride is Jeep Wrangler bad. I’ll never get over this one- I realize it’s a sports-ish car. But c’mon, there’s a reason ppl buy Mercedes vehicles, and it’s not to be jolted to the point presenting symptoms of shaken baby syndrome. Also, the steering-while predictable and adequate—provides a numb and non-communicative driving experience Other gripes: silly shifter, tiny trunk, backup camera distortion, useless infotainment interface. Abysmal dealer experience. Did I mention the ride? PROS: And there are a lot— BEAUTY Aesthetically, the design inside and out of this car is magnificent. It’s breathtaking at times, even. It’s faster than a lie from the president’s mouth—but only in the AMG version. The sport exhaust option is a superfluous and completely unnecessary, expensive option that defies logic, but I’d never want to drive one without it. When you get pst the turbo lag initially and start going at jail-worthy velocity —tap the upshift paddle and instantly it shoots the car forward and with a “POP!” You’ll swear a bullet fired right out of the tailpipe, grinning ear to ear the entire few seconds you have until you either run over the car ahead of you or Mr. PoPo hears what he swears is a shootout and pulls ya over. Would I buy the same car again? Absolutely.

Don't be fooled by the 255 Hp. This car is peppy, and fun to drive, (This opinion from a MKZ owner with the 400hp engine.) This little coupe pushes me back into the cozy leather seats, everytime my lovely wife floors the fun pedal. Build quality is excellent, everything works as it should and everyone at Temecula MB was Awesome!

I've had the C43 AMG Cabriolet for just over a month, coming off of an Audi S7 lease. Some things are great – the cabriolet with the airscarf and rear wind screen, and the headlights are awesome. Acceleration in Sport+ is great, the handling is tight. Some things are annoying, but I can live with them – no heated steering wheel (thought that would be standard on a luxury car nowadays), no trunk release button on the trunk itself (every time I want to open the trunk I have to either look for the key button or pull the lever inside the car), wobbly and noisy windshield wipers that looks very cheap, no separate locking “beep” rather than the car’s horn (my daughter’s Honda Fit does that, but not in a luxury car), gas mileage worse than the V-8 450hp S7 I had. Wish I could program the Comfort mode to make it a bit more sporty – it’s very unresponsive with acceleration. I’ve set the Individual mode, but since it’s not the default setting, I have to always switch it on. Again, these are annoying, but nothing major. Maybe things Mercedes should be working on. Some things if I had known, I wouldn’t have leased this car – most notably the standard leather and Alcantara seats are terribly uncomfortable and cause me back pain within 5 minutes of being in the car (I typically don't have any back pain). I’ve tried numerous adjustments including the lumbar supports and nothing works. This is really a problem for me. The ride with comfort mode is still extremely stiff, feeling every bump in the road and makes the back pain even worse. Also there are no parking sensors. I thought this was standard on all luxury cars now and didn’t even look to see if the car had it. There is a backup camera so you can watch yourself back into another car - it's very difficult to tell how much room is between the car and whatever is behind it. And with the cab top up and the rear headrests, you have very little visibility if you try to just do the old-fashioned head turn to look out the back. So all in all, I’m somewhat disappointed with the car, especially the seats. Of course, coming off of an Audi S7 doesn't make it any easier, but I guess I’ll have to find some seat cushions or something to help for the next 3 years and enjoy the cab on those nice sunny days.

Beautiful car. Very good power for a v6. Convertible is so much fun. Like most the trunks are smaller. A owned a 2015 C400 so the engine is similar along with most interior and body aspects. The upgraded exaust is a must. Snap crackle and pop. In Sports plus the gas mileage is poor. I paid close to 80k with all the options. Thought about the 63s cab but the all wheel drive was a draw in case I need to drive in weather and especially snow.

It is gorgeous, stunning, thumbs up.... An admirer said “It is so sexy”... nothing not to like. It is overall a very good car, but, base engine can’t get out of its own way, must leave the transmission in Sport Plus just to be safe. My previous 2014 E350 gets the same mpg ..... very sad.... The 9 speed transmission is as graceful as a bull in a china shop... not smooth at all. Shifts hard. The rest of the car is all Mercedes. The quality of fit and finish is impeccable. The interior is a work of art. The lines, slopes contours are so attractive. The car really is incredible in that Mercedes way.... The car bases at $51,000, with vinyl interior, aka “MB-Tex”, and no navigation.... When one options up the base car, Package 2, upgraded wheels, metallic paint, amg package, and leather interior (1,600.00) now it’s $62,000.00. I bought it used with 200 miles, so a deep discount... My thoughts are Mercedes needs to go back to their roots “build it and they will come”. They are stuck just wanting to compete with everyone else. I’ve owned Mercedes for over 20 years, and I’m not certain there will be a next... Writing an update 18,500 miles into ownership, which will be over in 2 days.... when I pick up my new BMW... A piston “blew” at 18,000 miles ( motor rebuild), ride is horrible, interior starting to rattle, and just very disappointed in Mercedes Benz.... after 8 Mercedes (all new) since 1994 I’m leaving the brand... The positive is the warranty and dealer did a great job, no issues...

A great tool to get you from A to B

The reason for us to get a car is as simple as a tool to transport you from A point to B point. At least that's what I thought. And the C43 is surely doing a pretty good job. I have been driving the car for half a year and I have to admit that my decision to choose the 43 instead of the 300 is probably the best choice I made in my life. The engine generating 385 hp is way more than enough for everyday you but holding a potential. I enjoy driving the car in back roads in Sport+ mode. There's barely any turbo lag and the steering feels better than the BMW 335i. Suspension is solid, a little bit stiff but you'll enjoy it. The building quality is slightly poor for the car. In the past 6 month, a front collision sensor and a power tailgate motor have been replaced. Strong wind got me a dent on the Speaker and also one speaker has been misplaced since I took delivery of the car. The interior just doesn't feel solid as it suppose to be. The material used in the standard spec can not be called as high quality. Gladly the optional leather upholstery and MB-Tex dash board was equipped on my car. So general feels nice. The tires were complained a lot. For a car with nearly 400 hp. A 225/245 width for the tires are a bit too narrow which caused the car to slide a lot on the dry roads. The so called AMG 4matic just can not let the driver feels as confident as the normal 4 matic in snowy or rainy conditions. Treat the car as the highest spec C Class, and you'll love it. If you want an actual AMG, get the CLA 45.

Very average cars for all that money. Have owed serval and tight inside. Reasonably reliable but costly to repair. .

I’ve had my c300 for 6 months and have put about 6000 miles on it so far. The engine has plenty of power, and I never feel like I’m in need of more. Interior comfort was the big selling point for me on this car. The seats are very comfortable and supportive, and the interior feels sturdy and well put together. I use it for commuting and it’s been fantastic in that respect. I average around 30 mpg in a mix of city and highway driving, and average 35-36 mpg in eco mode on longer highway drives. ***Update February 2023*** Still loving the car, no issues at all except for the run flat tires that I replaced with non-runflats. The run flats don't seem to last more than 20-30k miles and since mine is an AWD model you have to replace all 4 at the same time which could get quite pricey. Maintenance costs have been consistent with other German makes. Not cheap by any means but not outlandish if you can find a good independent mechanic.

Smooth, quiet ride as expected from Mercedes. Traded in a 2008 C 300 with 149,000 miles, expecting at least as much from this one.
