Dependable, fast, great handling, poor economy
Still has V6 compared to the current C300 and you can feel it. Sits low and tight, handles well, fast. Watch your front spoiler when you park because it is really low and gets scratched easily. The power and speed come at cost at the gas station but you don't drive MB if that bothers you.

Gray Ghost, Silver Shadow
I owned an 06 AMG E55, most amazing car. Near fatal cycling accident robbed me of everything (almost), $$$, my AMG and rental house. Freaked of that whip for years. Recently got back in my feet after a 7 year hiatus and and in a C300 Sport 4Matic. Full blown Benz quality, doors shut with 1 finger, everything is MB quality and almost over engineered. The handling is much sharper than the E class the AMG E55 was based on. It's 800 lbs lighter, has a shorter wheelbase and fat, sticky Michelin Pilot tires. Truth be told, I'm AMG Academy track trained and this car in my bags is a weapon. More than 1 BMW driver have almost crashed the cars trying to follow me. Don't write checks your body can't cash. I installed a Thornton chip, not to go faster but to "wake up" the performance of what's already available. MB cars have a bit of a lag week you press the pedal, as if the car is asking you "are you ready, are you SURE?" ... And then BLAM, her get up and go done got up and went. Lol. The chip doesn't seem to add horsepower, just makes the bulletproof motor come alive a 1ooo rpm sooner. Suspension isn't like the AMG which had the adjustable airbag suspension and three damping stiffness levels. One thing I noticed with both cars is that as the gas tank empties the rear end handing gets a bit choppy. The AMG did the same thing so it's not something endemic to the C300 Sport. Keep the tank at half it above and she settles down. The handling is very sharp, so hamfists be warned, yanking on this wheel will result is the car moving into the next county before you can blink. The car demands that YOU up you hand and skill level. It's not twitchy, it's just very very precise. The AWD is weighted more to the rear and my wear on my rear tires from ...errr, "spirited" acceleration most of the time is proof that the car is RWD until it senses slipping then it kicks in the frying wheel drive. I have not gotten stuck in this NY snow and pulling out of almost a foot of snow was a breeze. This car has been me no issues whatsoever and if my racing about it isn't enough, when I called my racing coach Kevin Krauss, (head instructor at the US AMG Academy and the Porsche Driving Academy) and told him I picked up the 2011 C300 Sport, he cracked up laughing. I was taken aback and asked what's so funny.... "I drive the 2012 version of the same car " 😃😎☘️🐞🏁 With his credentials and teaching background, Kevin could be serving almost any car he wants to, but he WANTS to daily drive a Mercedes C300 Sport 4Matic. The best parts of my day is driving to and driving from work in this car. It's a pure joy.🤗👍🏾

Not sporty at all, it's just a smooth and good looking gas guzzler
It's not sporty by any means. It's a smooth and quite car. It's not fun to drive, it's not exciting either. My major complaint is that it's such a gas guzzler and yet it's slow in its class. It does not do any better than 23 Mpg when cruising on freeway and despite the 230Hp, it's 0-60 is 7.1 seconds. I used to have a 2006 E90 BMW 325i that easily could do 28Mpg on highway and yet could go 0-60 in 6.5 seconds! I forgot to mention a collection of different rattles started at 15K miles and I had to change struts at 16K miles! To make things worst consider the fact that you have to pay for it's expensive maintenance out of pocket! It's maintenance plan is a joke...
Great little Benz
Bought this C300 in Oct 11 and got a fair deal as it was the end of the year. Received 10% disc off MSRP which is good as in our area the dealer has little competition. This is our 7th Merc. and I have to say for the money it is a quality Benz. It is the smallest we have had so you do need to lower expectations. It is not a S Class. From the two front seats it has a smooth ride and good performance. The fit and trim are outstanding and the car is quiet. The only thing that I have found that maybe a problem is that if you have more than two people to cart around the folks in the back need to be short as the head room and leg room are very tight if the front seats are set far to the rear.
