Since you don't have the 2002 C230-K yet available for comment on your site, I felt impelled to share a few comments about mine. The car is very cute from the outside, and pretty comfy from the inside, however I have had to bring the vehicle to the dealership 5 times over the past year. The all glass sunroof squeaks all the time,no matter what temp outside. They just can't seem to get it right. The ball bearings had to be changed already and the front windshield leaked thru to the floor. The side mirror lights have blown out twice in one year.I am very disappointed with the car and would not consider purchasing another Mercedes.

This purchase was made after considering the BMW 325xi. BMW was overpriced versus what the new car quotes from the car reviews on the net, and a use C320 was lower priced with a more confortable ride for passengers. The trunk is also larger making it acceptable for short road trips.

This is my 4th "Baby Benz" and would never get tired driving the car. I love almost everything about it except probably the emblem in front of it. It is too old-fashioned and I would prefer that they just have it flat on the hood rather than have it sticking up.

Excellent value (1 year old 11000 miles). Pleasant drive, quiet, firm comfortable ride. Handles well, but a tad heavy. Tried C240 stick: sluggish and trans inferior to '87 Golf. Auto- trans excellent. Many controls weird but some just fine (seat adjusters impossible to misunderstand). Seats almost as good as Volvo (high praise!) but wish they located me better. Overall: Really nice car, really good machine. If it holds together we're going to like this car for a long time. If you're spending this sort of money you'd be nuts not to try one of these.

On the whole my c240 is an exceptional ride in comparison to its predecessor the c230. The New C has a tighter suspention, better acceleration, and traction controll which helps a great deal in the rain and snow.I have put about 10,000 miles on my c240 and have experienced no problems.

Biggest complaint has been poor radio reception. Lots of static on FM and some stations do not come in at all. Other trips to the dealer have been, rear sunshade stopped working, front end bushings squeaked, both front indicators malfunctioned, front seats squeaked and drivers seat was very spongy and felt loose on turns. Also Sunroof regularly needs the resyncing procedure, My C240 has got the Mercedes Benz bug out of my system. Just wish MB could get the bugs out of their system!

My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a MB. Big mistake. C240 was cheapest of the fleet but this car still cost $39,000 and has been nothing but trouble. Constant electrical problems. Car has actually died at stop lights. We were going to start with the C240 and move up to and E- Class. We are now looking at the BMW 5 series.

No quality customer service here and Mercedes doesn't stand behind the car. Brakes are soft and need replacing often(they suggest every 10-14000 miles). Dealerships aren't knowledgeable enough to do repairs(they nicked my leather, dented the hood and roof top, scratched the wood grain) and denied they did it. Don't buy from Mercedes..honda,toyota,nissan,bmw...anyone else is better.

This car is very fun to drive when it is working. We have almost 30 pages of service records in 2 1/2 years. We tried to get Mercedes to buy this car back, but no luck. Then the dealer offered us well below retail on a trade in. It has been in the shop 13 times--phone has never worked right, a/c broke twice, fuel gauge, windows, rear screen, etc. etc. Our dealer (Stead Walnut Creek) had treated us with contempt. We have been told by a Lemon Law attorney that they fight every single claim to trial, which is obviously worth the effort to a small minority of people. We are done with Mercedes forever!

Great car. The driving experience is exactly what you think you are buying when you pay the mercedes premium-- impressive engineering, performance...oozing class. The rest of the experience (delivery experience, service, reliability) have all been dreadful. Frequent breakdowns and problems have been followed by frustrating and haphazard service calls. Buy the Lexus. You will be happier.

This is the first MB that I have bought and it has been one of the biggest mistakes in my life. First, the car has frequent break-ups, from the wipers, to the air conditioning, to the suspension, to light bulbs, to whatever you want to think about. Second, the service is a real NIGHTMARE in Garage Isla Verde in San Juan, Puerto Rico. My experience is that they are unreliable, arrogant, indifferent and totally foreign to customer service excellence. Service is as bad as the C320. At least they are consistent on that!!! NEVER fall into the same mistake of trading your BMW for a MB. You'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Twenty-eight items addressed under warranty. Everything from seals around the doors to front end bushings to a/c to radio to interior trim to engine stalls to missing/broken bolts to frequently burning out lamps. Attitude of the service advisor? We don't build them, just fix them. Advise of the service advisor in response to how much will fixes cost? Well, may be you won't be so picky then. They just ignore the fact that this car hasn't been a good one!

This is my third MB and my biggest disappointment with the reliability/quality. The car has been in for warranty service approximately 8 times for electrical issues, new speedometer, key problems, radio reception, new back window, door lock problems, faulty fuel gauge, mirrors that readjust themselves, ticking noise in the front engine compartment and it now needs to go back for a rear windshade that won't turn off, squeaking shocks and strange noise from transmission. It's unfortunate that such a comfortable and beautifully styled car has all of these annoying problems. This could be my last MB.

I am very fond of German cars, but my experience with the '01 C240 has been a disappointment. This car has spent more time at the dealership than all my previous Benz's (3) and BMW's (5) combined. The dealership has been wonderful and most problems have been covered under waranty. However, it is a hassel finding the time to take car to dealer for repairs. My '99 C230 has been much more dependable. The only time it has seen the dealer is for routine maintance. If you want to drive a "Baby Benz", do yourself a favor and find late model W202 (older C Class)and save yourself alot of trouble and money.

We have had our C320 for almost two years now and we are very pleased. We have been to the dealership once so far for the first routine service included in the price of the car. That is it! I think the build quality is very high. This is our first MB but have had alot of other "luxury" type cars in the past to compare. It is that right mix between luxury and sport. Before buying we test drove a BMW 330ci, Lexus IS300, Lexus ES300, Acura TL, an Infinity, an Audi and last the C320 all on the same day. We were 1 block down the road and my wife said "this is the one". Overall very pleased.

I bought this car after driving a Volvo for 5years - the 850Glt. Went for the safety (eight airbags) and class of driving a MB product. I thought I was taking a step up...I was very mistaken. First the seat comfort does not nearly compare to the Volvo. Second the interior room - particularly the backseats - is terrible. Engine performance for price is lackluster. The Volvo850 GLT w/ turbo was the same price (year-on- year) and lacked about 30hbp. One did not feel confident accelerating onto expressways - particulalrly the Eisonhower and Eden's in Chicago...The C240 is not worth it - PERIOD.

I have owned this car for a year and a half now and have had to take to the dealership about 15 times for various quirks. Not that the car has really alot of problems just the dealerships have crappy mechanics so far. They break stuff and the service managers are scripted on what to say it gets annoying. MBUSA doesn't care either about the problems as they are all independantly owned. Not what I would expect from a supposedly classy luxury car. As long as the car has no problems you are ok but the dealerships are terrible. The new models dont even have the free service deal anymore which is sad for what you pay for the vehicle. Better cars out there for the money but I dont feel as safe in them

I've had my C240 for 28 months now and it has had 21 repairs done on it. Bought the car in Arlington, Va and now live in Scottsdale, AZ. My attempt to get MB to take back this car and get me into another MB car have failed. I'm very dissapointed in the reliability of this car and second, that the mfg. won't stand behind their product. The problems: electrical, sunroof motor, power seat motor, door wouldn't open from the inside, fuel gauge wouldn't read accurately (this one is especially great with a wife and two month old daughter) and more electrical problems! Wish I would have bought the BMW.

The C240 is a great road car. Absolutely wonderful on a long road trip. Comfortable, powerful--it rides like it's on rails. It's fine in the city too, but fabulous on the open highway. I've had a few problems. It had to be towed once because the electronic key failed, and currently the sunroof won't work properly. When I press the sunroof button, it opens a little way, not entirely. If press the button about 20 times I can get the sunroof open. Annoying little bugs like that are bothersome when you've paid this much.

Waited oh so long for this car. First Mercedes and all that but have to say that I am somewaht disappointed. Stereo reception is poor at best. Seats are really uncomfortable despite my best attempts to configure. The idea of having to pay extra for a CD player is a bit much. At the end of the day, should have gone with a used E or waited until I could afford a new E.

The car is a great sedan for city driving the issues people complained about are usually because the first owner neglected the car. The car doesn’t need coolant top ups like most vehicles do in that year range. The engine had an upgrade so it’s generally more reliable to my surprise than my previous car I was tricked into buying from a friend. The car turns out to be the 2004 version with an engine upgrade and elegance package. The color is still great for its years but I do have a few haters living with me so they key the car with a nail from time to time out of jealousy. Use the right oil, use the right transmission fluid and the car will do better for you. I am satisfied with Mercedes I was born for Mercedes’

I bought my 2001, C320 Elegance, with AMG package in 2008. Was down between it, and a BMW 335i. On paper the BM was faster but on the road I found that it was too clunky, rough not good on pot holes. So, and I couldn't use its power advantage. The Merc was better on the road and has plenty of power. Not many cars beat it from the lights, once one learns how to drive it. I put a lower Bilstein suspension ($2,500 Oz), and it's not as comfortable, but it feels very sure, true and much more like a sports car. But not too uncomfortable, at all. My car was made in South Africa, hence it had some small problems, easily fixed. I replaced the stereo, the air compressor, and now at 180,000km, the roof lining is saging ($600 Oz to replace with after market), plastic draw ($260 for MB new), hood telescopic holders ($300), filter holder ($350), steering oil leak ($380), and other minor things...($300). All above prices are in Australian dollars. But nothing major. Such issues, and many more go on all cars, after 150,000km. In it's AMG form this car looks great and performs very very well. People always comment on how great it looks. And can't believe it was made in 2001. I think that it's a better Merc than some of the newer ones. This is my 4th Merc, and I also grew up with them. And I had number of other brands. This one has proven the best one. Even better than my 88 E300.

Mercedes advertises as a luxury vehicle- they should also advertise as don't give a crap customer service! This car is way overpriced.Have been to several dealerships for warranty work and not one of them has ever done a good job. It's the same thing time after time. When I called Mercedes to complain they said that each dealer is independent and that they have no control! What a load of crap! Toyota,Nissan,Honda care-even BMW.We need to get the word out about Mercedes so people will quit buying and the company will be forced to comply with consumers needs.I tried to trade this car in-even with factory warranty no one wants it.Don't buy Mercedes!

After six years of strickly driving sports cars, I decided to buy the Mercedes-Benz C240. It's not a sports car, but it;'s the only alternative I would recommend to one. Do not buy one without the warranty. Upon purchase, the the transmission went with in 100 miles. Thanks to the warranty I recieved a new one free of charge. Other than that I am 110% satisfied.

The car was good when it was new. Then everything started to good bad. Audio system went bad several times. Transmission went bad. Sun roof malfunctions. Paint faded badly. Side moulding turns from black to tan. ESS went bad. Brakes vibrate a lot. The dealer was not able to fix this yet for the past 4 years. Gas mileage is way less than what was advertised. Lots of noise on bumpy roads. Engine is loud. Speaker went bad several times. Heating is slow. Vent solenoid went bad several times costing almost $1000 for each visit. CD Changer went bad twice. Turn signal bulb blows out too frequently. Cup holder gets stuck. More room is needed. Electronic diagnosis need to be more accurate. Cost me money.

I love my C320! It still a head- turner, looks/drives great. It does break a lot (same problems that other MB owners have). Hey, what do you expect from an expensive car? If you buy this car with out warranty, expect to pay about $1000 annually in repair bills. My mechanic does the repairs, I never take it to dealer, except free car washes(You can do an oil change anywhere.) It's a great car!
