Very Happy
Owned this for six years now and have had very little problems. It has 180,000KMs on it now. I had to replace the brakes and it went into limp mode one day. It turned out it was the ignition coil number 3. For a little while I was getting these weird error codes about the braking system and the traction control but it turned out to be that the window was dirty, right where the rearview mirror connects. I guess there’s a sensor there. So I had to keep it clean for a while. Can’t say enough good about this vehicle. I have the GT with the Bose sound system. The speakers are great but, the stereo is a joke. I replaced it. Not only because it was underpowered and cheap piece of junk. But my hands free Bluetooth sounded like I had marbles in my mouth and so did the people I was speaking to on the phone. It got to the point where people didn’t want to talk to me if I was driving.

Ongoing ownership - updated
Oct23 Update - 130k miles - Still very happy! Zero issues! Apr 2021 Update - 100K miles. All continuing well - STILL a great little SUV! Have yet to have a single real problem... several years back the "Bluetooth Module" failed and had to be replaced. There was an issue around 60k miles with front brake rotors warping that the dealership covered at their own expense - probably was a Service Bulletin but regardless, it was a minor hiccup. Original brake pads actually lasted far longer than expected and were replaced with 15-20% remaining around 75k miles... Apr 2020 Update - 88,000 miles. All continues well ! No change in opinion :) Starting to develop a little more road noise in the cabin but not bad. Otherwise, still happy over-all. ---- An update to the review written only a few days after buying... We've now put 2500 miles on our '14 CX5 AWD and it's performing well. Nothing failing, no problems - performing as expected. Gas mileage not quite what we hoped but still reasonable at around 25 mpg combined. Closer to 30 on the open road but never higher average than that. So far a good choice in a new vehicle.

lharsh
I just purchased the 2014 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring and am thoroughly impressed with everything I see. The styling is far above the other similar SUV's of Honda, Subaru, Toyota and Chevrolet. Before buying I looked at each model based on price, styling, gas mileage, specifications and all the standard features of each model. In my opinion, the Mazda came out ahead in all categories. My first tank of gas came in at 27.9 miles per gallon driving a mixture of highway and local miles. I would recommend this SUV to anyone that wants a fun vehicle to drive and still have good gas mileage.
Never again
I Leased a Mazda CX - 5 2014 Grand Touring during Acceleration car jerks and slams into gear. Mazda Techs couldn't diagnose the problem after several Repair appointments. Lease is up Oct.2016 got riddance my worst car ever.
