Used 1993 Mazda 929 Consumer Reviews
Excellent value
Bought it in 1997 with 70k on it, and since pretty much trouble-free with additional 60k on it now. Design doesn't look too oudated even after 11 years, which is a plus. Fuel mileage usually ranging from 18-20mpg almost exclusively in-city driving. Just give it a regular oil-change with 5w30, pay attention to automatic transmission fluid, and it feels like it would last another 40k easy.
Still beautiful, sleek & reliable
The Mazda 929 is still one of the more beautiful sedans on the road. Discontinued in 1995, it is typically described as sleek and "Jaguaresque." I could not justify another $20K for a new Millenia. My 1992 model has been extremely reliable for nine years. It is quiet, smooth and quick off the line. Cornering is a little soft and the driving position can be awkward. The trunk is small. The costliest repairs were muffler system, struts and radiator. Timing belt needs replacing every 60K. Overall though, a well-maintained 929 should be a used-car bargain.
929 mazda
great car, trouble free and fun to drive
Great car
I bought my 929 used with over 150,000 miles on it. I have now over 180,000 miles with minimal replacement costs, (brakes, A/c conversion, belts, etc.). This car is great; gets around 26 mpg, very roomy interior, great power. So good that I prefer to drive it over my 2005 Chevy classic. I plan to keep this car until it quits on me; only thing I fear is the timing belt having to be replaced, big job, expensive labor and parts.
I love this Mazda
I live in Japan where I got this car. Like others a this web sight, I too think the body style is similar to a Jaguar - if not better. Certainly more beautiful than the new Mazdas. It drives like a large car and all my friends love this car. I just bought 17 inch wheels for it and it looks great! My Mazda MS-9 efini (Sentia or 929 as you may know it) is one of the most beautiful cars ever made!
