This has been a good car I love the V6 motor, it is silky smooth. I had the timing replaced at 80,000 miles and have had to replace cv joints on multiple occassions. The transmission is also giving me a few problems not wanting to go from gear to gear (its a 5 speed manual) overall I'd say it's an above average car.

I bought this car for a reasonable 2,300. It has many great features and handles great. I should have probably paid at least three for it. I don't regret my purchase for one sec. It serves all my needs. If you can get one in similar condition under three don't hesitate you can't lose.

I bought this car used in 1998 and have driven it hard ever since. It just keeps going. The odometer just flipped to 200,000 this week and I'm thinking of getting her a paint job. I've been pretty good about routine maintenance-- and that's all I've ever really had to put into this vehicle--plugs, wires, brakes, oil. The standard transmission makes up for the 4 cylinder engine. The best part is that I've got no payments and it's dirt cheap to insure.

Transmission problems! This car left me stranded on several occassions! Never will I buy another mazda again. It was the worst. However, comfortable interior but horrible in the reliability department. Oh,yeah . . . axle was replaced twice as well.

I bought this car when it was 4 years old. I take good care of the car but I've had to replace the CV-Joints, transmition, exhaust manifold, the motor mounts, and trans. mounts. There is also a lifter in the engine knocking. In the past 9 months I have put over $3500 into this car. The car I traded in for this was also a 626 and I drove it until it had 160,000 w/o doing ANY major work. Mazda's quality has sure gone downhill!
