If you want a midsize with a little more edge, a lot of reliability, and heavy on the safety and warranty, check this out. I have loved the last 2 years with this.

My first Mazda was a1990 Protégé and I'm on my third Mazda 3 (2017). Each new purchase was due to my kids getting the previous. My wife need a larger car which lead to our current 2016 Mazda 6. We love that car. We just completed our fourth round trip from NJ to Maine (about 1200 miles) and averaged 40 MPG for the entire trip fully loaded. My eldest has my 2014 Mazda3 with over 100,000 miles on it and has hinted she may was a new one. When my wife saw me researching the 2019 M6 she said she did not want to part with 2016. Most of her driving is local and she gets about 28-29 MPG in NJ traffic. Love the way it handles and while some say it rides a little stiff I've never had a problem with comfort level on long trips. Cargo space has been fine for us with everything packed including my golf clubs, dog beds and suit cases for summer trips. Depending on my daughter asking for it my next car will definitely be a 2019 of 2020 Mazda 6.

This is a driver's car. It's turning into curves is really crisp. The ride is firm without being offensive. The power for a non-turbo is adequate if you have reasonable expectations. Fit and finish is very good. Economy was a pleasant surprise.

Almost 300,000 miles on Same Engine and Trans!

I bought my 2016 Grand Touring with 25k miles in 2019. I now have 297,000 (No, that is NOT a misprint) miles on it. It's never been to the shop. I changed the Serpentine blet and Spark Plugs around the 200,000 mile mark myself in my garage with basic tools. Tires and brakes, of course. That's it! Complaints: Paint fell off the original rims and I had to fight Mazda over it. They wouldn't cover it. I'm still bitter about it. The A/C is horrible and can't keep up with the Texas Heat. Worst AC in any car I've ever owned. Cruise Control buttons do whatever the heck they wanna do. I never know what is gonna happen when I push them.

A hidden gem in the auto industry

Purchased my 2016 Mazda 6 Grand Touring fully loaded with white leather interior, navigation, and more in October 2022, with about 108 000 kilometers. The handling of this vehicle is one that is not expected in the class; sporty, firm, and lots of get up and go, despite only having a 4 cylinder engine available. The skyactive transmission offers smooth shifts, and the gear pattern makes it enjoyable in both highway and city settings. The comfort is one similar to more luxurious vehicle, not too much noise inside the cabin, the seats offer plenty of positions and heating, however are a bit harder than I prefer. Despite the positive aspects of the car, the rims' paint was of very poor quality, peeling almost completely off in 2024, which yes I am aware is a common concern on Mazda vehicles of that year, however was not covered by Mazda. Other things to point out: Poor shock mount designs, break easily, and the entire strut needs replaced Weak front end suspension. Had to replace control arms, tie rods, etc. Belt Tensioner wears easily. My car wore through two sets of belts and two tensioners within almost two years of ownership. The body is prone to rust - all vehicles do, however at this young of an age and the previous owner keeping in the garage all year round a bit unusual.

Great Classy Car

Love my 6. Styling still looks up to date. Handles great, rides great. Good interior design that has been pretty durable. Only problems that have come up were wheel paint failure replaced under warranty, nav system failed but dealer installed Apple CarPlay ($400). Also some iELoop issues. My GT is a bit noisy on the highway due to 19” wheels and it’s slightly underpowered compared to some but the sport mode keeps me smiling as I don’t normally drive too aggressively. Everyday I drive her I find myself saying: I love my 6.
