I bought this car 2 months ago for $3000 at an auction with 196000km on it, or about 129k miles. There oil kept disappearing quickly and I didn't know where it was going. After about $2000 in repairs and getting some tires and rims, I find out that the cars' engine is through. It was burning oil rapidly, the reason for that was the piston rings being worn out, and the reason for piston rings being worn out was the catalytic converter melting and blocking the exhaust creating excessive back pressure. Not to mention the EGR valve recirulating exhaust gases as well as other particles into the engine which also screwed the engine over. Very piss poor design by mazda.

I bought this new, auto w/ manual shift, minimal other frills. Overall, it rides a bit like an Euro car, feels bit stiff but soaks up bumps well. I don't like how most Japanese cars wallow but then kick you when it gets bumpy. Engine w/ auto is slow-ish, but fast enough to get you into illegal speeds anyway. Handling is far above average; I find it more engaging even than my '09 G37. It did have a software glitch, stalled a couple of times the second year; fixed under warranty. No other problems in almost 95k miles driving in the punishing Boston climate/traffic/pothole combo. No regrets. If the new Mazda6 wasn't so corpulent, I'd get another one.

Bought the car very recently and have put about 200 miles on it and love the car so far. The handling on it for a front wheel drive wagon is superb for the price I paid for it ($9000) and the engine seems to have the power needed to haul the little bit of extra weight around all the time. Myself and my girlfriend have 3 kids between the two of us and we can all ride comfortable without a problem around town and still have enough room to pick up groceries if we need to. Traded my 02 xterra for better gas economy and a firmer ride. Didn't have a need for 2 SUVs

Yep!!! She's my baby! With regular maintenance you just can't go wrong. Her radiator went out but other than that she's a screaming Banshee on the road! She handles well and has dynamic stability! Good on gas and roomy. She came with all the bells and whistles including tinted windows :)

Mazda 6 Great Buy

I am now 2.5 weeks into owning my Mazda 6 which I finnaly took the plunge when the incentives and my Ford Supplier discount made it too hard to pass-up. My Mazda 6s sedan is equipped with just about every feature available, except for the sunroof. I was disappointed that it did not have auto headlights, or delayed locks. However, I am very excited about everything else that the car has to offer. The 225 horsepower engine is fun to drive, and gives me plenty of power on my 130 mile daily commute for work. Even at 85-90 mph, there is plenty of power for passing. I am also happy with the safety features that include ABS, traction control, & 3 point seat belts in the rear.
