I owned 3 Porsches and a Mercedes E55.
The SC430 lacks true sports car feel
but is the best built. A hardtop
convertible was our preference.
We could not rationalize or justify the
$40,000 price difference of the SL500.
The Mercedes CLK500.It felt cheap and
plastic-filled - ditto the new Cadilac.
As for the back seat and small trunk
the SC430 has more than my Porsches,
the SL500 or Cadilac. With the top up
we have room for both sets of golf
clubs and luggage - meaning we can
travel with this car where we could not
with the SL500 or Caddy.
The hardtop convertible is fantastic!
The car looks great with the top up,
which I cannot say about most
convertibles. The stereo system and
interior is the finest. Great
performance without giving up comfort.
The SC430 has the BEST Navigation
system -- easy & functional.
More 'outlets' for phone, etc.
Tiptronic transmission, chrome wheels,
more steering wheel controls.
Very quiet and rides well. With the
top down, you can hear the passenger
talking at normal voice levels. Stereo
system is very nice and GPS works very
well. Seating and climate controls are
very good. Accelerates well once it is
moving, but has a distinct hesitation
before shifting that can get you into
trouble while merging into traffic.
Convertable top and the ease at which
it operates. Interior and associated
