Used 2020 Lexus RX 450h Consumer Reviews
Love our 2020 450H
We are able to get 32-33 mpg routinely in mixed driving. It’s a wonderful ride for an SUV and controls are mostly intuitive. You have to pay attention to the details though and I’d suggest taping the Dealers Nerd who goes through the tech details when you pick up the car. We had a difficult time backing up with a bike rack on the receiver. Hitting reverse resulted in an emergency stop. Fortunately it happened in business hours and I got advice from the dealer. Only downside for us it’s smaller than the less attractive Highlander it replace. UPDATE: It’s a beautiful car that gets excellent mileage for an SUV. In our suburban summer home area we get about 32-34 mpg around town. On extended highway driving the mileage is dependent on speed. In non hilly rural 60 MPH roads the mileage is about 29-30 mpg. At 80 mph, hilly country it falls to 23-24mpg. A few dislikes, you turn off the car open the door abandoned you get a message to turn of the lights, my 2015 Mercedes just turns them off. Same issue with fill ups the button is low on the dashboard and hard to see in the dark. Again my 2015 Mercedes has no button. When the car is stopped and unlocked the fuel door is unlocked. Lastly the cruise control and lane keeping is not very effective. Also had an unanticipated problem when I used it to pull my small boat trailer. When I tried to back up, the car braked abruptly. The hitch had been installed by the dealer but no one told me about this issue and how to remedy. So all day Sunday I made sure to not back up, And on Monday I called the dealer, asked to speak to one of the “Nerds”, the women responded “I’ll see if one is available”. A guy came on line and in 45 seconds gave me the work around. Punch line: I like the car, but would not buy a newer version without changes. I’ll start looking for a replacement next year and I hope to find a 6 cylinder plug in hybrid by Mercedes, certified used or new

Size does matter!
I am enjoying my second Lexus experence. My first being the then new 1989 GS450. We were together for 20 pleasant years. The 2020 RX 450h with all the safety equipment that wasn't available in 1989 I stayed with Lexus. The RX450h is again a pleasure to drive and own, ah be it a very big boat.
