An Excellent car but not without shortcomings. Mileage should be better on the highway. Great ride and comfort. The pillars limit visability so must be extra cautious in reverse. Quiet. Soft (loose) steering but not bad for a car this heavy. Car designed for comfort not performance or economy.

Intelligence, style, comfort. Makes me want to go on a road trip! Plenty of power. Not as tight or flat in turns as BMX X5 or Acura MDX but more than enough when very good hanlding when driving no more than 20% over the speed limit and for accident avoidance. FAR more comfortable and drivable for long trips, especially when you consider that more than 95% of our driving is straight ahead. Roomy, 4-adjustable steering column and 8-way adjustable driver's seat. Very comfortable rear seat. Sensible instrumentation.

My wife and I have driven Acura's for years. We had a TL and wanted an SUV. The MDX couldn't compare to the RX 330 when it came to luxury and ride comfort. This is a great vehicle that manages to provide a pure luxury sedan feel with the ruggedness of an SUV. It offers great handling and style. The Lexus cache can't be beat, and as good as Acura is, it doesn't make the "luxury" impression that Lexus does.

This is the third RX that we have owned and the best so far. These vehicles are trouble free and feel like luxury cars. Lexus has combined great style and handling in a comfortable cabin with plenty of room. Can't imagine them improving this one but they probably will.

Steering is what I would say is over responsive and can cause a swaying sensation when traveling on a straight road. I don't like the response of its acceleration at times. I notice this most when I am traveling at approximately 40 mph and I want to speed up fast, I feel a noticable loss of power, before acceleration begins.

I love this car. It looks small on the outside but dont judge a book by its cover, the inetrior cabin is very spacious and roomy and luxurious luxurious luxurious. Its a great performer and feels like a sedan on an SUV frame. Drives like a luxury automobile but your sitting raised up like an SUV. The crossover fashion that is in style now fits this auto.

Headlight problem

The car is otherwise excellent with one major problem: because of the brightness of the high intensity headlights, they level off at a low level, and the top half of your field of vision is very dark (otherwise other drivers will feel blinded). Very evident driving in the hills or on a freeway when there is very little traffic. Depending on the steepness of the road, may not see more than 25 feet in front of you. Lexus told me it is a known problem with this model in particular but don't know there's much they can do. I'd be interested in whether others have had this problem or ideas where to research it.

My husband wanted a Grand Cherokee Limited but I won out. He absolutely loves this car...he hasn't stopped detailing it on the weekends. It's beautiful to look at, fun to drive, rides like you're floating on air. Nothing better this year in mid size SUV's and service is fantastic!

Good acceleration at all speeds, including passing power on freeway. Transmission lag on 2004 model is gone. The 19/25 mpg accounts for the extra transmission responsiveness. Smooth and quiet ride. Good gas mileage.

and so far I LOVE this car. Granted it's my first lexus ever... I feel like i'm doomed to buy lexus forever now. I really like the smooth ride, the fit and finish of the interior is very nice, and it's surprisingly quite roomy inside. There are some minor complaints - inflexible option packages (not too many stand alone options), couldn't get the price lower than the msrp, where are the running boards?, where are the coin holders? Trash tray? And someone already mentioned this - this car is waaaaay too common. Mine's the 4th in my cul-de-sac of 9 houses.

I truly love driving this SUV- and I am convinced after test driving many other SUVs in the same class that this is the best purchase for the price. The comfort in this car is matched by no other SUV I have ever been in, and it truly rides like a sedan and not an SUV. It has a very smooth ride, and has all of the luxury features/options that Lexus has built its reputation on. I am also pleased by the reliability of this vehicle. I would like a little more cargo space, and I'm not a huge fan of the metallic trim on the interior surrounding the console (would prefer wood trim), but other than that, this car has been perfect for our family of 3.

The RX 330 is fun to drive, very comfortable, and it drives like a car. The interior is beautiful, and the features are endless. The only complaints I have are; not having a chime when the fuel is low, and not having a coin holder accessible to the driver. The only problem has been the power lift gate motor. Lexus replaced immediately with no problems since. Maintainence is expensive, however the oil only needs to be changed every 5,000 miles. My next vehicle will most likely be the same, but newer.

Coming from a '98 GS300 (great car) to my first SUV may not be a fair comparison. The steering is not as precise. My '01 Dodge Caravan accelerates quieter. But I guess as far as SUV's go it is at the top of the heap. The quality is definitely there.

First, this is a really nice car which makes any omissions really stand out. For one: dual acting sun visors (actually two per side-one for the front & side window and an extra one for the front) For eleven years I've had them on my American cars. Second one: mud flaps. Oh, they are available for $160+ installation. Without them the car tends to get splattered easily. Third: complexity of controls.Yes, they do allow flexibility and optional ways to operate but a 600+ page instruction book! Too much! Now, I've got to repeat what a wonderfully satisfying vehicle this is. No buyers remorse on this one!

*** Price *** Amazing value for money. *** Ride *** Haven't experienced a smoother ride in an SUV so far. The road noise is almost non-existent. *** Performance *** Somewhat lacking in performance as compared to the MDX, but the styling and all the rest of the features make it a much better buy. *** Dealer *** The dealer was very courteous and helpful in our buying process. *** Finally *** Our 1st Lexus and don't think this will be the last.

We started out with a 2004 base model RX 330 last year and upgraded this year to a 2005 with AWD, Nav. Sys, DVD player, Mark Levinson stereo, etc... We loved the first one and love this one even more. It handles well, feels safe (IS safe too for that matter), is very comfortable (with a lot of interior space) and has a lot of "bells and whistles" that equal a good value when you compare costs for the same bells and whistles on a BMW or Mercedes! I also LOVE the look of the RX 330 - very sophisticated and sporty. The service from Lexus has been impeccable. I cannot rave enough about this vehicle, and about Lexus in general! I'm a fan for life!

Love the new European styling on the new RX330 ... great head-turner! Can't wait to try out HomeLink with a new bluetooth cellphone. Only complaint is that satellite radio should have been an option as on the larger Lexus SUVs.

Great midsize SUV - especially if you've decided you can't really use a 3rd seat that might be too small anyway. Very comfortable, great resale, looks great, and the only one we found with the power tailgate (for those who might not have the reach or strength for closing it sometimes). Easy to get in and out of.

Really comfy car; nice all-around; nice mixture of everything. Just noticing the hesitation everyone is talking about but doesn't seem like a HUGE deal to me. I have the black and chromed the 18s and it looks a lot more sporty--not so "grocery getter" like. Front seat a little short? Wish the base stereo was a little nicer (ML didn't sound much better when I listened--at least not for the money). A sub would be nice. Some body roll in turns, but nothing that's bothersome. I came from a Sport Trac, so that might have to do with it. The headlights do seem to cut off, but they are nice. AFS seems cool--but not sure if it's really ground-breaking in usefulness. Like it more than anticipated.

I find the HID's very bad in hilly driving. I constantly have to put on the high beams to illuminate the road properly. They are nice and bright but set too low. I find no fault with the transmission. In town mileage is poor... avg 16- 17/mpg. Highway is about 22mpg. Dealer service is excellent, build quality excellent. Had a chance to use the AWD this past weekend in snow and ice... very good!

Have an 05 RX 330 that is about to roll over 305k miles. This thing has lived most of it's life in Minnesota and survived MN winters, gone hunting in MN and driven up to the mountains towing snow mobiles more times than it probably would've liked to. It's been meticulously maintained and is still a daily driver. I bought it off of my friend who's family had it since 2005. I'm so impressed with the comfort of this thing and the features even from 2005. I'm going to drive it til this transmission gives out and then probably go get another one as my commuter. Can't beat this thing for the price, fuel mileage, reliabilitiy and comfort! You will NOT regret buying one of these. Just don't expect it to die on you if you want to get a new one haha.

The Lexus 330 is a pleasure to drive and handles exceptionally in the snow. The ride is smooth, quiet and comfortable. It hold 5 people well but is most suited for four. Cargo is not huge, but holds enough for most trips. A cartop carrier takes care of big cargo loads. I love the engine's power when I need to accelerate quickly.
