My 2000 LX470 just turned 325K miles. It doesn't use a teaspoon of oil between 7K mile oil changes. Just put a new aftermarket exhaust system on it. I have used regular gas since day 1. Depending on highway or city driving, I have consistently gotten anywhere from 14-17 mpg. That has not changed in 18 years. The best car I've ever owned. It owes me nothing. I love it as much as the day I got it. Never thought I'd own a car/truck for 18 years. The paint is still beautiful. I am emotionally attached to this truck.

I bought this LX470 for $30 grand, at the time the mileage was 77k. i thought this was kind of high but when it comes to a Lexus, mileage doesn't matter cause the car can run forever. anyways, the LX470 i bought came with chrome wheels, chrome bumper guard and the tail lights guard, with a gold package. It is awesome, the paint is unbeatable and it is even better than my 98 ES 300. I used to think of SUVs are bumpy but when it comes to the LX470, it is quiet, smooth, it feels as if you are floating on a boat when travel at high speed on highways as well as bumpy roads. i love this suv!

Smooth ride, luxury features. After 110K miles it has needed some repairs (ignition broke, suspension wiring went berserk).

I got this vehicle used with 180,000 miles on it. I always liked this vehicle but could never afford a new one. I took it to the dealership and they just take the best care of you and they gave the car an extensive overview which the noted the things I should fix since then, I have been riding high. I love it so much. It has the ride of a luxury car and it does have more performance in the power mode. Mine had many upgrades including chrome rims, dvd players in the head rest and many other toys. It's paid for and I'm going to ride it until the wheels fall off. It still turns heads and people are always asking me how much I'd sell it for and I respond I would never do it!!

After owning a Tahoe, Expedition and Denali I finally bought a 2000 Lexus LX470 with 90,000 miles. It was the only one I could find in my price range. I have only had it a month but it is easily the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. It has more buttons than a NASA spacecraft, but I think I finally have most of them figured out. It is not as quick as my Denali was, but as far as build quality, ride, comfort, and looks, it's hard to beat. I'm hoping that it can go another 90,000 if I take care of it.

After looking over many of the luxury SUVs available. The LX is hands down the best "real" SUV you can buy. This 2000 vehicle has almost all the features my new 2006 sedan has (heated seats, auto dimming rear views) and some it doesn't (electronic stability control to prevent rollovers, ride height adjustment and real time dynamic suspension, and two independent climate controls for front and rear passengers). And even though a bit sluggish from a stop, it has lots of pulling power (80% of which is available at just 1100 rpm!), the sign of a "true" SUV with an engine designed for it, not just out of a truck. You will get use to the gas mileage.

We just purchased this beauty (gold) from a dealer in Houston, TX. After driving the LX470, the Escalade (what a joke for $58,000), the Navigator, & the Sequoia we decided to drive to Houston (best prices/live in Louisiana)to purchase the certified LX470 (only 36,000 miles). This SUV is everything we hoped it would be. We traded in our '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee which we drove to Houston and that made the experience driving home a dream. None of the other vehicles could match the LX470 smooth ride and comfortable seating. I can't believe we waited so long to purchase one.

Just the best large SUV out there. I've not found a better ride in any comparable size. I love the quiet cabin & stable feel. Ergonomics are great!

I owned a Land Rover, Range Rover for four years prior to buying the Lexus. Had all the bells and whistles. My 470LX is so much more of a car. Accelleration is much better, gas a little better, Let's face it, hardly anyone takes either car "off road". Absolutely no comparisons when it comes to comfort, luxury and ride. Ride comparison: 9 vs. 4+ (RR) Going on 40,000 miles on original set of tires, RR was luckly to get 20-25,000.

I bought this car new in 2000 and she now has 120,000 miles on her. I often comment to my friends how well the car still drives. I really mean it. After all those miles, the ride is still extraordinarily smooth. The car has held up quite well and all I have had to replace is the front brake rotors. If you are looking for comfort in a big SUV, this is the one to buy! You can get them for good prices used and since they hold up so well, don't be afraid of buying them used with maybe 50+k miles. Also, the thing is an absolute TANK when it comes to snow. I have literally taken mine through 2 feet of snow without hesitation. It's the best car in the snow that I have ever owned.

I've had my Lexus for 4 years. Its my favorite vehicle I have ever owned out nine. I feel safe, secluded, pampered, yet enjoy the capability in the snow and off road of the NW. I put 295/75/16 BFG All Terrains on it, and it looks sweet. I will probably never sell it, as it has everything I need and like. A heated seats, a center locking diff, suspension adjustment, sunroof, killer stereo, etc. The size is perfect too, such that you can park it with ease unlike a Suburban, Escalade, or Sequoia. And it fits in the garage with room to walk around it. The new one looks great, but until they make it with 25 -30 mpg there is no reason to upgrade. Buy a 99-02 model and you'll be happy.

The only thing about this car i dont like about this car is the MPG i get around 10, however that is after 16 years and 336000 miles.

We bought this car in 2000 on Maui so it only has 130,000 miles on it (we only drove it 6 months out of the year, typically). We left Maui in 2023, shipped it to LA, picked it up there and drove it to Florida. The driving performance was outstanding. On Maui, it was never above 55 mph but on the mainland we were able to really exercise it. MPG was still good at 15 to 17 mpg depending on (interstate) speed. The only "repair" we ever did was convert suspension system with standard shock absorbers in 2021. I have owned Cadillacs, Mercedes, Jaguars and many more. This vehicle is the best of all. We have had a few minor repairs but nothing major. So glad we brought it back.

Great machine but lacks some touches you would expect at this price...info computer, steering wheel controls, eye glass holder, readable clock and outside temp.

I own one and would never sell it! Best suv, and it last forever! People are afraid of these vs the Landcruiser, but it’s similar with better ride and build quality. Buy it, you won’t regret.

Have owned my 2000 LX470 (90,000 miles) for almost a month. It has been the best car I have ever owned by a long shot. The ride and handling are top notch. Not quite as fast as my Denali, but very smooth. It will climb over just about anything too, but you hate to take it off road because it's too good looking to take a chance on scratching it. My only complaints so far is the tiny plastic cover that covers the little window that displays the time and temperature is coming off. Also my moon roof may have a short in it as it takes several tries to get it closed. It also has more buttons in it than any other vehicle I have ever owned. Be prepared to read the owners manual.

The interior of this vehicle is beautiful. When you get in it, you are bathed in luxury. The engine is very quiet and the ride is nice. You are amazed how fast you are going when you look down at the gauges while on the highway. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking for the ultimate luxury SUV. Lexus is second to none.

I bought it in 2001. It was, by far, the most expensive car I’d ever bought. I was 37 years old. My kids were young. We live in Colorado. We used it for weekend ski trips, vacations in Canada, daily commutes, hockey games, camping trips, etc., I remember driving it over Berthoud Pass alone during a blizzard that shut us off from the rest of the world for several days. It didn’t flinch. I took it on my first White Rim trip and finally used the AHC for its intended purpose. It hauled our boats and my ancient Airstream up and down I-70 and far beyond. Then it became the kid’s starter car. All three kids drove it. It was wrecked a couple of times - but it kept the kids safe. It endured a couple of Rocky Mountain hail storms. The last one totaled it but we kept driving after the insurance payout. We thought we’d drive it in to the ground but it just won’t quit. It left me stranded one time. The car was fine. The ignition key wore out. Unbelievable. Now all the kids are gone, The LX was showing its age but still ran like new and never leaked a drop. I decided to restore it. New paint and new upholstery. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. I added a rooftop tent. It’s going back on the White Rim in November. The best vehicle I’ve ever owned. We’re Toyota for life.

This vehicle has been a joy to own. The couple of minor cosmetic defects were addressed immediately by the service department and covered under warranty. The acceleration is outstanding and the ride is wonderful.

Purchased new in April of 2000 .I drive this Lexus very little, has been garaged all its life. Now has 79,900 miles. At 66,780 suspension went out,,cost to repair $2600 + in 2005. Now after 13123 miles suspension went out again (Feb 2010).Service department says this is going to happen about every five (5) years no matter how few miles it has been driven (13123). Cost to repair now $3350+. It looks brand new inside and out but now rides like a gravel truck, this will be my last Lexus

Bought this vehicle one year ago with 72000 miles on it. Now has 81000 miles. Wonderful trip ride. Great capacity to carry stuff. All around great vehicles. Drove through 12 inches of snow with it last winter. Goes anywhere. Dealers have great service. Only issue with it is CD changer died. $600 to replace. Oh well, even Lexus isn't perfect!

Test drove just about every large suv's on the market and the Lexus was heads and shoulders above the rest. We were looking for a quality used vehicle that would be reliable. After owning the LX 470 for over a year and a half we are still singing its praises.

Driving across the country at least once a year with our two yellow labs, we have found the LX 470 to be a very comfortable, safe, and all-around great vehicle! Driving up Hwy 1 in CA was a blast, and I never have a problem getting around in some of the incredible snows we have here in Colorado - I've pulled out numerous vehicles out of being stuck in ditches, etc., and even pulled an Nissan Xterra up a hill by my house from a standstill 1/3rd of the way up where a lot of people just park their cars at the bottom and hike their way up - ALL included in this display were VERY impressed - I've even noticed a few of my neighbors (3 now) have gotten one since!

I feel its sporty when needed, u could turn it into even more luxurious or even more sporty by adjusting a switch controling the shocks. Beutiful must have.

I looked at 2004 Navigators and Escalades. I already own a 2003 Explorer. None of them compare to the refined ride of this vehicle. The off the line torque seems to be every bit as good as the Navigator and not that far from the Escalade. Most of the torque seems to be readily available at the lower end of the tach. The ride is incomparable. The handling is exceptional for a vehicle of this size/weight. The interior is as luxury as it gets with soft leather and burlwood accents. The navigation system is in a class of its own. Extremely intuitive to operate and accurate, with a huge screen. The third row seats are useful for small people only.

The Lexus LX470 is the finest SUV I've ever driven. I live in the Colorado mountains and "use" this vehicle like a sports utility was meant to be used. This vehicle is a fine example of a high end Lexus... Very quiet and smooth. It feels like you're floating on air!

My parents, grandparents and myself have all had numerous cars and trucks, naturally. Everyone, living and dead, agrees that the 2021 Lexus Lx 470 mom got with 50,000 miles (now 411,000 miles) is the best vehicle any of us have ever had. And family full of old mechanics born in the 30s to some spoiled doctors with BMWs, everyone agrees.

Had this SUV for a long time now, and the quality of the vehicle is terrible. Too many issues and too many costly repairs. I have under 100k miles on this. Issues: 1 CD.. Disks get stuck in the player 2 Ignition went out, and it cost me $1200 (non-dealership) to fix it. I was told that Lexus placed the starter in such a position that it takes a min of 4 hrs to replace. A similar replacement on American cars take less than 1hr. 3. The Antenna doesn't go down. Didn't fix this. 4. Shock are leaking oil and needed replacement. $2500 5. Recently the ignition switch actually broken when turning the key. What a crappy engineering using cheap metals. $1200. The dealer says it is normal.

I just traded a 2000 Lexus lx 470 with 390,000 miles. The vehicle ran so quiet you could not hear it. The dealership was in awe of the condition.Actually shed real tears when leaving it. Thought it was time for an upgrade and only hope I get the service from this one that the 2000 gave me. Elane

Only the Range Rover comes close. The rest (Escalde, Navigator, Denali, X5, ML 430) pale in comparison in the things that really matter - RELIABILITY, resale and OVERALL statisfaction. A true luxury utility vehicle. Nice try Ford and Chevy, thank you for playing.

A very comfortable vehicle - I bought this new for my wife and it has been a good vehicle for us on trips and daily driving and I love the off-road ability. I have been dissapointed with the reliability of the vehicle and the dealer experience has been poor! I doubt we will buy another one. Originally, I wanted a Mercedes but they didn't (still don't) have anyting large enough for our needs. Overall, Lexus tends to be a little guady with styling and getting worse.
