Great Car But.....

TDA, 04/15/2018
2017 Lexus ES 350 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

Leased two fully loaded cars (ES 350 and IS 300) from Lexus in April 2017. The ride is very smooth, the interior comfortable, the upgraded sound system wonderful, and the car very quick from a standing start, but.....the driving dynamics of the ES are terrible. The car should never be driven above 70 mph on any road other than one that is absolutely straight. Body-roll is very pronounced when driving through curves and it is difficult for the car to hold a line. For me, this distracts from the overall enjoyment of the car.

Excellent Value for the Money

I work for a Auto Dealership so I know a lot about cars, I have a Infinity 2014 Q50 which is a great car but was limited on space in the rear seat and trunk, but very fast. I also own a 2001 Lexus RX 300 with 176000 miles on it still going strong, which to this day rides smoother than my Infinity, so I decided to get the 2017 ES 350, I previous had a 97 ES 300, WOW what a difference in ride compared to my Q50, nice and quiet and smooth running, very comfortable and I like all the high tech stuff, minds is fully loaded and so since I work for the auto industry I got a very good lease on this one. I drive BMW's and Mercedes, Acura, and Audi all the time and nothing compares to the value and comfort of my ES, It's one of the best car's I've ever had and I've had just about every car made, American and foreign, and hands down this is the one, so if you looking for comfort and value and a lot for your money, check out the new ES, oh by the way I got the Atomic Silver with the two tone interior, Tinted windows, beautiful, beautiful car!!!!

A few bugs in the car: the navigation does not lower the stereo when giving voice directions, and the remote start option is nice but after you start the car and open the door the engine cuts off and you have to start it again. Other than that, navigation takes a bit getting used to with the remote touch mouse. Superb ride, that is very quiet with more than ample power. The car feels heavy but moves with ease. I have the base sound system and it sounds crystal clear. Overall you get Lexus quality and the price really cannot be beat for this model.

Need Avalon Interior and FREE REMOTE START

The monthly charge to remote start is a JOKE!!! You can NOT add remote start, Lexus FORCES you to pay approx $30 per month! REDICULOUS!Love everything about the car EXCEPT the interior storage is VERY limited. No storage for glasses under the rear view mirror and the doors will not hold a soda bottle. Avalon has Lexus interior beat. Also, complimentary maintenance is better in Avalon. For purchase price difference one has to hope resale will return a portion of price increase. Remote start is ONLY available if you subscribe to the Lexus suite after the one year subscription expires. $35 a month is TOO EXPENSIVE to continue remote start and from what I am told, is there is not a dealer or after market remote start available.

Four years ago we purchased this car. It is still the most luxurious car we've ever owned. The two main selling points are a library quiet interior and an incredibly smooth rode. The interior is well appointed and luxurious... fit and finish is excellent. The V6 is smooth and powerful. This is not a sports car by any means. Body lean is significant on a clover leaf... so if that's what you want, I would look elsewhere. For a smooth cruiser that's a treat to drive - both long and short trips... it fits the bill in a really great way.

This is our fourth ES 350 lease. We love this car! We were also very pleased with the improvements made in just three years between our 2014 and 2017 model. We came to Lexus after leasing Acura for a number of years. Have also looked at Mercedes but they can't compare to Lexus ES 350. Suggest Lexus allow for more than two pages of XM channels. No need for 2 pages of AM channels.

Great look, very comfortable to drive, safety features are the best, actual mileage beats the advertised expectations, one of the best on the road today. Feature value is unmatched. After driving for one year now, this is my favorite car. Very comfortable, great safety features, economical, roomy and well appointed. After driving for a couple of years, this car can't be beat. Very reliable, comfortable, great safety features. Love it. This car after driving for 4 years now continues to deliver: comfort, safety, value, reliability, and everything else one could ask for. A great car. Been driving this car for 7 years. An excellent vehicle. No complaints. Very reliable, comfortable, excellent mileage, luxurious, quiet what more can I say.

This is my 4th Lexus. Two ESs and one GS before the current car. All are reliable. Take it to the bank. This '17 Es is very full featured, with nav, etc and i got the panoramic roof and the 18 inch upgrade wheels. It's noticeably faster on acceleration than my 2012 ES , yet it has the same 3.5 ltr v6, and I'm not sure why. Fit and finish are very good and the extra room the '17 has over the '12, primarily in the back seat is nice. Handling is typical Lexus, good but not great, but good enough that you can throw it around a bit, but not too much. All in all, a good car and worth the money. I started out wanting a BMW 5 and became convinced that this car is a better value than it and than the GS as well. would buy again. UPDATE 9/12/19. I like the car even more. Silky smooth ride and 30-31 mpg on the hwy at 75 mph.

It's not a hi performance car. It's extremely quiet and smoothness is very good. Technology is too complicated and distracting. The more you use it however, the easier it gets, especially if you can master the speech commands. Its Mark Levinson audio system is fantastic. Quality is evident in exterior paint, interior seating with adequate room for a 6'2" driver. Still bump my head occasionally on door opening, when exiting or entering drivers seat. I don't care for fake leather. Looks cheap in the cabin. However, it fulfills its entry level luxury car descriptions. I bought a Ultra Luxury package with panoramic roof, with all options offered, which overcame many of its shortcomings. I would not be happy with the ES350 equipped with a base or near base option package. My wife who is the main driver, shares my feelings on the technology, and is getting the hang of it. If you've ever owned a true luxury sedan, the Lexus ES350 is certainly a step down, but makes up for it with value, dependability, low maintenance cost, and low fuel cost. I still have my 1997 ES300. Interior is genuine leather and overall interior quality on the 1997 was much better. Still runs good and has about 285,000 miles. It’s obvious that car manufactures today are making cars lighter in weight, using cheaper quality materials, and using options and accessories to boost their profits. After 54,000 miles and 7 yrs of ownership my 2017 vehicle still looks and performs like new. Very happy with this purchase with no complaints and will probably give it to my great grandson when he has his 16th birthday in 5 more years. I gave his dad my 1997 lexus.

ES 350 to the Max

I had my first visit to a Car Max, so I didn't know the process. They had my test drive waiting up front, so in we went (and I banged my head). Seat will adjust down, and it must be if you are a taller driver as I am. Interior comfort was better, in my opinion, than the E Class Mercedes I had driven earlier in the day. Overall ride comfort was a 4. compared to Mercedes 4.9. The Lexus infotainment battery of gadgets was tough to navigate with a first test drive, but I was extremely disappointed with the Levinson stereo. With an Ultra-Luxury option package, this ride should have blown me away. Instead, it was a gentle breeze. Overall, Lexus is a very beautiful car inside and out, but it was the 'little things' that kept me from purchasing this particular car.

Car has not had a mechanical fault and I've put 39K on it. Absolutely one of the best cars I've ever owned. Nav system is a little slow to reroute when I don't follow it's route. Other than that the car is perfect. I have a 2019 model now, ES350. This car is better than the previous Lexus. Nav system is flawless, handles better due to redesign of chassis. I hate to get out when I reach my destination !!

German Car Guy Converted to Lexus Guy by 2017ES350

Best value for the money as a used car! I purchased my 2017 ES 350 in July 2020 with 20,500 miles. I have had zero issues so far. I have put 21,000 additional miles on it in one year. It has a heavy solid comfortable ride with great acceleration from the 3.5 liter V6. I've owned serveral Mercedes, BMWs and a Porsche. I loved those cars too, but I hated the maintenance costs after 5 years. I have real peace of mind with the Lexus. I took the Lexus in for warranty repairs and the service manager came out of his office because so few warranty repairs are ever done. He showed me that I didn't know the proceedure for setting the memory seat. I liked the confidence in the product knowing it is usually user error...not the car. I plan on driving this car at least 10 years. It seemed like new and it only cost $26K(luxury package with glass roof) last year. Good luck!

I decided to go up one level on the options which includes the telescopic steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors woodgrain trim and a couple of other things. This car rides buttery smooth and the power is there when you need it. I like the high-end buying experience as they kill you with kindness and the dealership is absolutely immaculate with complementary food and drink. Free car washes for life and 3 years of oil changes. They loaned me a GS while my windows were being tinted. The GS has a firmer seat and a much firmer ride, kind of like the Infiniti Q50 I test drove. I made the right decision with the ES 350.

My 2017 is now 6 years old and I was looking to trade it in....FORGET IT!!! I looked at Subaru (which was highly rated) Infiniti Q50 and Lexus ES 350. All the changes are NIGHTMARES!! Run flat tires (no jack or spare and not repairable) you have to buy a new tire where a common flat used to cost $25. When the tire blows out it will pull you across the highway and usually damage the wheel. The $25 flat tire is now a $1200 flat tire and almost all car manufacturers have them. I'm waiting for someone to be seriously hurt and the lawsuits begin. These tires are a death ride. So are the tires with the non existent sidewall. The CD Players are all deleted for extremely confusing Apple Car Play. I guess they expect you to throw away all your CD's. I only have 22K miles on my 2017 ES 350. I'd be very foolish to trade it for one of these cars.

This is my second ES 350. I also own a 2010 year model. I can say enough about how luxurious, and reliable these cars are. I like the overall quality of the 2010 better, but the technology in the 2016 is much more current. I recommend this car to anyone who is looking for cabin and trunk space, a smooth ride with a comfortable interior and superb reliability. I am highly satisfied with my investment in this vehicle.

Love the car. It's our 2nd Lexus (1st was 2004 ES 330 had absolutely no problems with car). It may not be exciting to drive or sporty but you can't beat it for comfort and reliability. I love all the options available like the glass top, blind spot warning, auto cruise control, etc. Only problem has to do with exterior, front section on side by wheel well keeps coming unfastened every times car goes over bump.

No power folding Mirrors. Lexus does not have Android Auto or Apple Car. This is the car for you if you want to go any where and not be noticed. This is my 3rd Lexus 2nd ES and I can take it any place, Seedy neighborhood or Country club and it does not get a second look. I can arrive in maximum comfort and not be annoyed by anyone. These things lease at such a great value that I am never concerned with giving it to the valet. Even the first day, I used two Valets and gave it no more thought then if it were a rental. My current car has the 17" grand touring tires and the extra rubber makes this quiet and really comfortable. I have the Luxury package and Navigation which adds some nice features. If you can find nice colors get the Ultra Luxury with the Mark Levinson Stereo, Panaoramic sunroof, and upgraded leather with power extender on the drivers seat. (My wife has this) Personally I would get the Flaxen (my current car) or Parchment interior. Gray is ok, but the black interior is depressing. Note the Lexus Navigation is just ok, they should add Android Auto and Apple Car.

I purchased the Lexus ES-350 primarily for comfort. I got exactly what I hoped for. Further, designers provided unexpected features for convenience. My only suggestion would be to reengineer the climate controls. It is far too difficult to understand and execute the means for turning on and off the air conditioning.

Sporty yet comfy

I have to drive up to 10 hours on trips to visit family - it seems like every month. This car has made the trips seem half of what they were in the Avalon. Using the radar cruise seems to take away some of the mental work, and the seats are terrific.
