2023 Lamborghini Huracan Review

The 2023 Lamborghini Huracan is the Italian automaker's smallest and most affordable sports car, though affordable is a relative term when we're discussing vehicles like this. The Huracan made its debut nearly a decade ago, but Lamborghini has continually updated and improved it to keep it feeling fresh. We've seen a plethora of variants, including the recent introduction of the (frankly bonkers) Huracan STO. For 2023, Lamborghini is applying some of the best parts of the STO to the Huracan Evo to create a new variant: the Huracan Tecnica.

The Huracan Tecnica has a number of unique mechanical traits that separate it from other models. It's rear-wheel-drive only but uses the high-output version of the glorious naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 found in the all-wheel-drive Huracan STO. (The Huracan Evo is available with rear- or all-wheel drive.) The V10's 630 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque is channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, making it the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Huracan available.

Revised bodywork increases downforce and reduces drag relative to the Huracan Evo, though the Tecnica does not use some of the STO's more aggressive bodywork such as the one-piece front bodywork, roof-mounted intake and wider fenders. The new bodywork does make it a few hairs longer than the Evo too. Other upgrades for the Tecnica include rear-axle steering for improved handling, increased brake cooling and a retuned exhaust system.

Lamborghini hasn't announced final pricing for the Tecnica, but expect it to slot in between the Huracan Evo and the Huracan STO.

Few cars as old as the Huracan still manage to feel fresh, so credit to Lamborghini for not letting it wither on the vine. We like the Evo and STO, so like chocolate and peanut butter, we think combining the two can only be a good thing.
