This is a Kia?

This car gets a lot of complements. We do the high school teen car pools, and one thought it was a Mercedes until she got out and saw it was a Kia. No joke. We got the SX model, which is similar to the loaded EX model with the large sunroof. Truly excellent. It's a little slow compared to my Infiniti sports car but my wife doesn't notice. Not sure about the transmission posts but those are probably fake as it's seemingly perfect. There are five drive modes, I usually pick "Sport" but my wife picks "Comfort." Also, we got this after my daughter totaled our Honda Pilot and I wanted the safest vehicle so she would be safe. This comes with every safety feature possible, which even the Volvo we were looking at didn't have many of the safety options. Anyhow, we get a ton of complements on it when people are inside. Outside, well, it's a Kia, which is fine by us.

Built tough yet Comfy ride and interior

Was hit by another car when my 2019 Sorento was 3 mos. Old. It slammed me into a curb breaking my wrist on the spinning steering wheel, then ricocheted into the bumper of the van in front of me. Not only needing surgery for a complete break but also seat belt bruises tells you how hard I was hit. My car had severe steering and suspension damage but limped home. Everything was fixable. The 2 year old Malibu that slammed me blew both front airbags & the side curtain bag. It was damaged in the front and leaking. I'm guessing it was totaled after hitting the other curb bouncing off me. I feel that my Sorento was built strong and tough. It may have saved me from more serious injuries. The 3rd row seat is useless with no leg room unless you have child car seats and toddlers or younger. The rear air conditioning is weak being behind the 2nd row seats. After 4 years those are my only negative remarks. I get very good gas mileage for a car this size. The ride is better than most SUVs I've been in (I have a 25 yr. Old back injury) and overall I really really like my car & feel safe in it. As for the 2nd seat AC, I found that there was a small vent between the 1st row seats that had been turned off either by my niece or my dog jumping!!!! Sorry! No breakdowns or repairs, only maintenance. Highly recommend.

Nice car but engine/transmission issues

Great car and ride but around 3500 miles developed what many reviews and discussion forum posts have noted-a "missing" or jerking feeling on acceleration as well as running, hard to tell if it is the engine or the transmission. Two visits to dealer, they say they don't notice it, I've been driving long enough to know when an engine is running rough. Some say it is a software issue, it seems Kia itself does not know how to solve it. To some it might not be noticeable or annoying.

I love my Sorento, but one thing I discovered this winter is.......you cannot start the Sorento to warm it up and let it run. You cannot let it run and get out and lock the doors. Who wants to let their car run and leave it unlocked. One of the dumbest things any car maker could do. I have heard so many others complain of the same thing. They live in apt. Complex and cannot let their car warm up before going to work and leave it unlocked to get stolen. Also, if the car is taken it will not quit until it runs out of gas or the thief turns it off, even if you have the keys and it is out of range from the key fob. How dumb is that!!!!!! The dealership said I could get a remote start put on....over $500 and then I would have to have 2 key fobs. I do love the Sorento, had I known I couldn’t warm it up in the winter and lock it, I would have gone with another vehicle.

Year two now and I am not backing down from my claim of 'best bang for the buck in this vehicle class! Handling, power and most of the goodie options have been used and I don't have one complaint. Packed to the hilt with golf clubs, their push carts, gifts and luggage for extended periods and performance was handled without a hitch. My last review contained comparisons of similar products before I purchased the KIA. I did my homework and it paid off. This Sorento will be in the family for a long long time...
