Solid Car for the $$$
I love this car! For the money I paid, I felt like I was stealing this car from the dealer!! Great warranty. Lots of power. Decent milage. Solid and (so far) reliable.
Really like the car
I really like my car. I bought it because of the looks and price. Went with the intention of buying basic car but ended up with extras (leather, wood trim, better stereo and heat/air system). I'm used to a four cylinder so I'm sure that makes a difference. Optima drives great (smooth, great pick- up) and gets good mileage on the highway (drove to Penn from Mass and got about 30 miles/gal). Around town not so great (about 19 miles/gal), but I sit in traffic going/coming to work. Very comfortable and roomy. Rides smooth. Very happy....
Great car
So far no problem bought with 134,000 milage for thousand and not a bad deal. The only thing I had to fix was sensor that cost 12 dollars and back brakes. Great purchase,so far no major problem considering it's a beater with working heat and cold ice ac.

Kia Optima: Optimum Protection
My Kia Optima saved my life! An elderly lady that swore she hadn't been drinking ran a red light on a major state highway. I was hit in a 50 mile-an-hour side collision(driver's side) with her Taurus wagon. The side air bag deployed and cradled my head and torso. I managed to get out of the passenger side door. Not til later did I notice that the doors were peeled outward on the driver's side from the impact. I learned that Kia constructed the door pieces so that upon front or side impact, the doors would not intrude into the safety cage. Thanks Kia! I am know looking forward to another Optima or Amanti instead of a hospital bed.
just rating
a good all around car
This is a no go!
I bought this 2004 4 banger in 2007 with 33,000 miles. I expect problems (serious) around what? 100K at the lowest. coil pack went out at 55,000. Gas filter something out at 63,000. Ok those are small things. But here's the big thing. I have only 74,000 miles on it and the engine roars at you like the tranny is going. I depend on this car. I need a car. I still owe 6100 on it and it is about to flop out on me i can tell that tranny is going! This car really sucks. I treated it well. Put lots of miles on it quickly, but drove it slow never raced it and still it causes to many problems and way to much stress! Way too Much

love to drive this vehicle so far so good it's confortable and smooth
Well worth it
The ride is smooth. Was very pleased with how comfortable the ride is in the ex v6. This car has sufficient power to merge or just to get moving on interstate. You don't realize how fast until you look down. My kids think the sound system is super. Cannot beat the warranty just have to make regular service appointments but tht is with any car. I would absolutely recommend this car to anyone. The EX V6 that is.
great car for the money
my second kia optima was very satisfied with first one which was totaled when hit in drivers side door side airbag saved me from injury just bought my second one to replace it
It stinks
I have had trouble out of it ever since the belt broke, left me strand on the side of road with out warning. I had no power on the car, shut down everything. Broke the motor support now the power steering is messed up. The mess up rack and pinon ad to clean out hold system and do for wheel alignment and this leaves me without a vehicle and 661.00 in debt on disability I think it stinks oh yeah buy a Kia
