When looking for a PHEV under $40K I used Consumer Reports and it came down to the Toyota Prius or the Kia Niro. I drove a couple of Toyota's, it's a small car. I'm only 5' 8" and it was easy for my head to hit the ceiling without making adjustments. The engine noise was very loud. Then I drove a Niro, easy decision.
