Beware K5 gt turbo is Horrible Nightmare
Bought a 2021 K5 GT turbo brand new......Spent 32,000$ for a low quality car. First it lacks AWD which makes you burn rubber when you accelerate to fast. Went through original Parelli tires in 10,000 miles. Had engine overheat at 14000 miles due to faulty thermostat. At 21,000 miles air conditioner broke... NO air and its 100 degrees. Car is in Shop for 4 days and have not heard back from Dealer. Buyer Beware. Not happy !!!
Fantastic car, but fragile.
I bought my 2021 Kia K5 gt-line awd in March of 21'. Wolf gray premium with special edition pkg. The car runs and drives fantastic, very smooth, decent power, good handling and respectable gas mileage. It honestly was the most comfortable car I have ever owned. Great tech and safety features just a enjoyable experience overall. No problems or issues in 2 years of ownership. However, very early one morning driving home from work a very large raccoon ran out in front of me and I hit him on the lower driver's side of the car and it went under the car and out the rear. I stopped and checked the damage and it didn't look all that bad. However after getting insurance involved and taking it to a shop the final bill was almost $13k! Besides the obvious front end pieces and a drivers side front wheel liner it also broke the plastic engine splash guard and some underbody plastic frame protection. The most surprising thing is it broke a low mounted engine control harness mount. Since it is not a stand alone part the entire harness had to be replaced requiring pulling the engine and dashboard out to replace. Ridiculously expensive repair for what was essentially a bunch of plastic and a poorly positioned wiring harness. As much as I absolutely loved the car, I traded it in for something taller and less fragile.

why me
excellent car, one of the best I ever owned. So far, I averaged 39.4 miles per gallon on the highway UPDATE: on a vacation to Florida, I was averaging 60 to 70 miles per hour, on the open highway. My air conditioning was on the whole time. I can not believe that my car averaged 47.4 miles per gallon on the open highway, My car was loaded with suit cases. Amazing the milage I got on the open highway.

Great car, great choice for first-car in my life
K5 is designed well with its just-fine size. Driving position can be set in just the way I want, and the better is that I can save such position for next driving. I bought hybrid trim and I like the sound it makes when the engine starts. Seats are comfortable and with all these great sides it costs relatively low which makes it perfect for my first car in my life.
