Great Rebuild

This is a great SUV. I have had this for a little over a month and decided to get the SUV despite the gas prices because every time I started looking at another car I would always come back to this one. The gas mileage isn't really that bad, get about 18-19 on avg. This vehicle is so much fun to drive. Instead of dodging potholes, I am aiming for them because the tight suspension takes large potholes with ease. Very comfortable seats and love how much higher i sit. I really liked the old liberties too, but this one is so much improved from the last one. A must have!

2008 Liberty Ltd

I have 1500 miles on a new Liberty. Good interior space and design. Ride is quieter than expected and smoother than the Wrangler which I traded in but a little bumpy on rough road. Decent power. I like the "mid-size" size as well. The internal storage better than most vehicles. Good sound system and satellite radio. Cargo space excellent--the upright, square design gives a lot of usable cargo space in back. Rides well at hwy speeds and in windy conditions. Have not tried the 4WD yet. Adequate back seat space.

Sky slider from h*ll

Bought my Jeep Liberty Dec. 2007 when sky slider had had just come out and I knew I had to have one! Only one on the lot was fully loaded and I paid almost $35k. Since I bought it I've brought it to the dealership at least 7 times for problems with the Sky Slider LEAKING! Each time they say they don't know why its doing that and each time they tell me its fixed when I leave but now I'm continuing to have problems with it leaking! Now that it has permanently ruined my interior roof cloth I am going to pursue Chrysler to take this nightmare of a car back because this was the biggest waste of money to have to worry every time it rains how wet the interior will get!

DON'T DO IT

A lot of these positive reviews seem to come from people who haven't owned the vehicle for more than 100k miles. I purchased this in 2016 with roughly 90k miles on it. My Jeep has 160k+ miles on it currently. This vehicle, although has never left me stranded, is trash. If I used the money spent on repairing this vehicle towards paying it off, it would almost be paid off by now. Being naïve I purchased the vehicle for more than it was worth (which is my fault). The 4 wheel drive doesn't always want to work, the heater core has been replaced, twice, the heater box has been replaced, the AC doesn't work, have had to repair the cylinder heads, had to fix the axles.. it's been a mess. The one positive is this thing is a tank (gas mileage of a tank too). I have been in an accident with no damage to my car, and have hit a deer where the front bumper popped out a bit.

It's a fine vehicle except for one thing...

My Jeep now has 66,000 miles on it and it has been a very solid vehicle. It has also been stone cold reliable. The only reason I haven’t rated it 5 stars across the board is because while I like the design of the interior, the typical Daimler mandated cost cutting cheap plastic materials are everywhere. Also, I think some of the exterior design could’ve been better. I’m not a fan of the giant squarish looking plastic covers over the headlights. Give me the design Bantam/Willys started with..so that means round headlights please. Other than the interior plastic and some exterior design issues I couldn’t be happier with my Liberty.
