Used 2006 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
CRD is perfect - Currently running B20
Love the CRD, bought all options except for the hands free and satellite radio. Wish I would have purchased the hands free cell device, as my cell and radio don't like each other. Love all about it. I run biodiesel B-20 in it, which it loves! Window levers are in a stupid spot, and drivers seat is a little high, as I lose some vision and I'm not that tall. Other than that, it's perfect! Road noise is minimal, heated seats are wonderful, Mileage is awesome! Would suggest anyone interested in saving money and looking for a diesel engine without spending loads of cash purchase a CRD Liberty 4X4.
Love my Liberty
I've only had my Jeep for 6 weeks, and I love it. Traded in a 2001 VW Jetta for my Jeep, and I couldn't be happier. I know a lot of people have been bashing this SUV, and I have no idea why. Even my mother, who was reluctant to let me buy it, likes the vehicle. It drives great, very comfortable, and I like the height, it makes seeing the road very easy, and it has a very good crash rating. Also, it has a great sound system.

I am SHOCKED!
After reading all of the horrible problems people have faced, I am SHOCKED! I have owned my Liberty since September 9th of 2006, and 34,700 miles later... have not had ONE problem! Maybe I am lucky, but I have adored this SUV. It is great in mud and snow, and I feel safe in bad weather. I have never had a window fail, though one did fall into the door, but the dealership replaced it with NO COST. I have gotten around 16 mpg (mostly city driving) through its lifetime. It's 3.7L is peppy and can pickup! The only thing that bugs me (I'm a clean freak) is the cloth seats are RIDICULOUS to get any kind of stains out (USE HOT SOAP WATER!) It has been a GREAT vehicle, and I recommend it!
Wish I would have rented one first
After on 2 weeks I knew I bought this vehicle in haste. The seats sit really high and are not very comfortable. The brake and gas pedals are dangerously close. The steering is very touchy and difficult to control. The price really isn't that great when you really take a look at what you get. My Jeep has been for sale for 2 months with no bites.
Beware of 2006 Liberty
Very nice SUV for the size and price range. However, there have been several recalls and it is hard to schedule the time to get them all fixed. Also, had to replace all four tires and front and rear brakes and rotors at 32,000 which is ridiculous in my opinion. Keep looking unless you are ready to handle the maintenance and have a second car to tide you over during its down time. At this point, I find the car hard to trust.
