the car I've always wanted
Well, it's finally mine. My 2006 Jeep Liberty. It's not the most comfortable car, nor the most powerful, but it defines me. It's definitely, a "man's car" or, at least mine feels like it. And I love it! Though, my friends are mad because they all have stupid economical imports. But in all seriousness, the Liberty is my top pick. It's the best small SUV out there. The looks, inside and out, are just great, and my girlfriend says it matches my eyes? Hah, "Jeep green" and a lot of my tall friends can fit in perfectly. Who cares about gas when you make everyone who carpools with you pay for it? :) Haha, I love my Jeep, and it's worth every penny!
Liberty Renegade Rocks!
We bought our Jeep Liberty 3 months ago and we love it. The Jeep is more comfortable on pavement than what some reviewers are saying, but this SUV really performs off-road. We've driven our Jeep on dirt roads, along trails, over tall grass and brush and on the beach. The tough 4x4 handled it all in stride and our 4 speed auto transmission is solid on road and off. The Renegade package makes it look tough and ready for anything, which we really liked. Unlike the other Liberty trims, the Renegade features a flatter hood without the rounded sides which makes it look more like a traditional Jeep. The bolted on fender look and mounted fog lamps adds to the ready for the offroad appearance.

Windows Regulators
I purchased this vehicle for my mother June of 2006. Since having purchased this vehicle my husband has replaced the window regulators on 3 of the 4 windows 3 times already. Recently the driver side window regulator went out, and he went to the dealership to purchase another one and was told that he would not only have to purchase the regulator but a new window due to a new design that Chrysler came up to prevent this from happening. It went from being $75.00 to now $300.00 to replace this part. This is ridiculous, you either buy groceries or fix the window. And the gas mileage isn't great either for a 3.7 Liter small vehicle. Not to mention the noise that it makes when driving on the HWY.
Please stay away from this vehicle
I felt obligated to write a review when I saw the average rating for this vehicle was 8.2. At best this is a below average vehicle. At worst this ranks as one of the worst vehicles of all time. I feel I can provide an honest assessment since this is a company car and I am not tied to it financially. This was obviously an ill conceived car. I am 511. On long trips my right leg cramps because the transmission housing protrudes too far laterally into the foot space. I get 20 mpg, which is bad for a small slow vehicle. The seats stain with water, seriously. There have been several recalls. Also, an odd "clicking" noise emanates from the from airbag area (dealer says this is normal).
