Used 2005 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
It's ok, but not great.
It doesn't get the mileage promised, and I don't like the shortened cargo space. The extra headroom is actually a bother. I have more trouble putting kayaks and bicycles on top of the car versus the old Cherokee. I like the design, not the height, and it performs well and dependably; just like a Jeep should.
Great
The drive is not harsh or truck like, much better than I expected having riden in earlier model jeeps. Also the total construction is solid, I can see how you could take one off road come back on the road and not finding rattles all over the vehicle from the bouncing. It's really put together tight.

Jeep Liberty Limited Edition 2005
I am not impressed with the gas mileage (15 mpg) in the city. The leather seats are comfortable, but I tend to slide a bit. The leg space is limited for a 5'8". A couple of glitches happened, my 6 CD changer failed only one week after I got the car, and ate 4 of my favorite CDs! I also had to have my car towed because the gas pedal cable was missing 'a clip', the car wouldn't move... Still love the car. The AC works great. I recommend you take the maximum care warranty, Jeep service was really great when my car got towed. The look of this car is so great, I felt in love with it. Lots of space, the back seats fold nicely.
Diesel is the Future
I looked at the Escape hybrid and the Liberty diesel and the Liberty won hands down. The price was several thousand less and it performed better. At start up the diesel is not as quiet as the standard V6 but after it is warmed up there is almost no difference. There were no clouds of back smoke or foul smells that I remembered from the old Chevy diesels. Power is good and it is quiet on the road-even under hard acceleration. Even after just a few tanks of fuel the Jeep is already beating its 26 mpg highway rating. Once cleaner diesel fuel starts to show up in 2007, diesel vehicles will start to appear everywhere.
Liberty
it is awsome offroad.
