Used 2002 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
Fun SUV with Great Value
I love driving this Jeep! It handles and brakes extremely well and is fun to drive. I have had no mechanical repairs with 80,000 miles. The paint was quick to chip though. The cost to own is very low. The cargo area is a bit small and fuel mileage is lower than it should be for a small SUV. For a $27,000 SUV, it was an excellent value. I would recommend this Jeep for small families with limited hauling or trailering needs.
10 months and loving it...
I have had my Jeep Liberty for 10 months now(bought it in June 2001). So far, so good. The only downfall is my choice in color, black. I hate the maintenance, but that would be with any black vehicle. It is my own fault! I have had a few problems with the recalls but i am aware of the fact that it is a new line of a vehicle.

nice all around
ive driven better but not for the price!
Better than I expected
I previously owned a CJ7 and it was probably the most unreliable vehicle I've ever come in contact with. That was then, this is now, and what a difference! I looked at the Toyota RAV4 but it is underpowered. Daimler/Chrysler has really taken Jeep quality to the next level. I'd highly recommend this vehicle for anyone thinking of a small to mid-size SUV. It truely is the only one in its class that you can take off road!
my thoughts
I love my Liberty. We bought it when it first came out, and now there is one on every corner! Original tires were awful, but new tires make all the difference. You can't complain about the bumpy ride since it is, after all, a Jeep. In the winter it handles like a dream. When the streets are impossible for cars to drive down, I can easily get around. The part time 4WD is great to have in my area. I just love this thing! MPG needs improvement though.
