Used 2002 Jeep Liberty Consumer Reviews
You have to love this thing
I've had my liberty for 5 months now and drove it some 4000 miles, mostly on rough roads or no road at all. You have to love the performance this little engine (2.4L) gives, shure it could use some mor HP's but the mileage is quite decent, the comfort is amazing. Some minor glith at 2000 miles with a speed sensor, but the dealer replaced quicly.
My first S.U.V.
I initially bought this suv to fix up my credit and wanted to upgrade to an suv. I bought it at 27k+ and was satisfied at first. As I began to drive it more and more it disappointed more and more. The suspension and road noise is unbearable at times, but in its defense I do like it on the highway and I am happy about the power from the 3.7l engine. However road noise can't be drowned out by the pitiful speaker system and the window controls are located in a awkward position. Gas has come down from $4 to under $2 but still feel that it should do better overall. I would Rather buy a highlander or pilot that seats 7-8 and get the same gas mileage plus have the reliability and history that comes.

10 months and loving it...
I have had my Jeep Liberty for 10 months now(bought it in June 2001). So far, so good. The only downfall is my choice in color, black. I hate the maintenance, but that would be with any black vehicle. It is my own fault! I have had a few problems with the recalls but i am aware of the fact that it is a new line of a vehicle.
nice all around
ive driven better but not for the price!
Better than I expected
I previously owned a CJ7 and it was probably the most unreliable vehicle I've ever come in contact with. That was then, this is now, and what a difference! I looked at the Toyota RAV4 but it is underpowered. Daimler/Chrysler has really taken Jeep quality to the next level. I'd highly recommend this vehicle for anyone thinking of a small to mid-size SUV. It truely is the only one in its class that you can take off road!
