So Far so good
I had my Jeep for 2 weeks now, traded in a 2011 Honda Odyssey for it. Took it on a 400 mile round trip to PA, it rode smooth & had great acceleration. I have a limited with Luxury pkg & safety group. Love the dual sunroof, & vented seats. On edmunds apps though the pictures of the interior is the 2018. The 2019 8.4 uconnect screen is actually different then the 2018, it’s more flat on the dash, where the 2018 is more recessed. That’s really the only difference though. Overall so far very satisfied with my Jeep.
First 1,000 miles and towing a 3,000 lb RV Camper
I just switched to a Jeep, my first Jeep in 16 years. What an improvement! I have been doing Mercedes for the past 16 years (Got a great at work discount as Mercedes was a client) My Overland is detailed out nicely. We needed to pull a new RV Trailer we purchased, so I gave up my 2017 Mercedes E-Class (Though I looked at the Mercedes GLE) . Around town I have no issues hitting the speed limit of 75 on the Interstate by my house. I am in Colorado and in a couple of trips up the Eisenhower tunnel and Vail Pass, I had no issues staying at or above the speed limit with my V6. I picked up the RV in the mountains and drove back over two 11,000 foot passes with only a little hesitate towards the top. Over the rest of I70, I had no issue going 65+ miles an hour. It trailered like a breeze. Never even knew it was there and the stabilizing features worked well. Overall I like the infotainment option much better that the 2019 Mercedes options. Mercedes was behind there, though the new MBUX system (2020 models) seems nice. So far after 1,000 + miles, I have not given up a luxury ride to the Mercedes and I have managed to save thousands over the Benz GLE. I was looking at a 2019 Mercedes GLE (Not the 2020 that is out now) and was getting $10k off of the Benz sticker as the model had a significant upgrade in 2020 model but that was still $9,000 more than I paid for my Overland, and frankly the Overland was nicer riding. (Benz turbo 6 was nice and it was rated at 7500 lb towing) And the Overland came with all of the safety features the Benz did not come with at that price. With the 2019 GLE and Overland having the same core frame and underlying driving tech (this Overland was designed when Mercedes owned Jeep over a decade ago) you have a pretty good matchup, and I think you should pick the Jeep even if the pricing was the same. Get a Jeep and enjoy the ride, the nicely fitted cabin and really simple to use infotainment (Uconnect) , and enjoy the savings off of the Germans. Updated after 35k miles and 18 months. Having driven to Florida from Colorado twice and California, the Jeep is awesome for long distance trips. Since I did the first review I plated the bottom with Jeeps steel. I have been on multiple 5-8 rated trails with no issue and one 9 rated trail- yes with a mostly stock Grand Cherokee. I surprised other Jeeps and vehicles that I had zero issue. The air ride and increase is great for getting over big rocks. Great on and off road!

Why am I paying over double for my BMW X5?
Is this vehicle as good as a BMW x5? It sure comes close. Sure the handling, fit and finish in the BMW are superior but is that worth over double the price? Most of the time we are just throwing skis in the car and plowing through the snow here in the north east, or just driving to work and the store and this car is perfect for that. I still love my BMW x5 and the handling is definitely better but IMO, it is not worth over double the monthly lease price for that. Let's be honest, most of us are not taking high speed hair pin turns anyway. Slow down a tad, and save a ton of money and get the Jeep. I was shocked at how close the power, handling and comfort was to the BMW. Not sure I can stomach paying 140% more per month for the lease renewal on the X5. That's how close the two vehicles are.

Replaced Mercedes GLE 350
Let me start by saying the Grand Cherokee is about half the price on a 3 year lease than the MB I turned in. I got tired of the high payments but the GLE 350 was a great vehicle. I bought the JGC Limited. I like everything about it except the gas mileage and the ride is a bit stiff on rough pavement. The Limited trim is perfect for me. I live in NE Ohio and the winters can be challenging. Here are the pluses: 1. Very comfortable interior - comfortable seats with ample leg and head room in both the front and back. 2. Climate controll works great. 3. The infotainment system is very intuitive. 4. Nice stereo. 5. So far everything seems to work well. 6. Surprisingly quick pickup. 7. On smooth pavement this thing is silky smooth and quiet. Now the negatives: 1. The ride on rough pavement is, well, rough. The roads here in NE Ohio are absolutely horrible and the JGC feels every bump. Bad ones can be somewhat jarring. 2. Maybe it's the way I drive but the gas mileage in the city was surprisingly poor. Overall: I'm pleased with it. I test drove the Honda Passport but didn't like the hesitation in the motor. Hard to explain but it had a strange feel to it. The Toyota 4 Runner is just old looking. My advice is if you like the Grand Cherokee negotiate hard. You can get that price way down.

5.7L V8 Limited
Had to take it to the dealer to replace the a thermostat and another part which always kept the fan running. Overall the acceleration is good for a vehicle over 2 1/2 tons. A lot of low end power. Some plastic parts in the interior but overall the quality it good. Lots of room in the front and back seats. Cargo space is definitely more than any reasonable person will need. The steering isn't very firm and even on its highest setting isn't great. Ride can be rough at times. A good amount of body roll. But is surprisingly quick, with decent power. Uconnect system has some flaws like weather alerts can distract you while driving. Sound system is good. Shifting is quick but strangely will transmission brake when going down hills and whatnot. Everything else I didn't mention is good because I don't even notice it causing a problem.

Longevity, not a thing in a Jeep.
Sixth Year Review - Truck still going strong - rust bumps haven't really changed. Took it in for a major service - $2400 including two tires. It's paid off so in the scheme of things not too bad. Overall still a fun vehicle to drive except for long drives. The seat is too short so I get fatigue in my legs when I drive more than five hours. And I'm only 5'8". I can't imagine what it would be like a taller person. Fifth Year Review - Rust bumps. Across the front edge of the hood. Still pretty solid, but I still expect them to blow out and ruin my hood. Keeps Jeep off my list of new cars to buy going forward. However, driving this thing is still a blast. Good acceleration and is shockingly amazing at holding tracking on curves. Sure it will slide, particularly in slick conditions (so much fun). But on dry roads, this thing is like glue in a high-speed curve. And off-road, it's sure-footed and can handle very rough terrain. So the metal work is disappointing and it will kill resale value. But man oh man, it's still my favorite vehicle to go out and have some fun. Fourth Year Review - Rust bumps. Across the front of the hood. They are pretty solid for now but in time they will continue to blow up and blow out. This Jeep is going to look like a bum in a few years. Last time I buy a Jeep. I still love driving it but this is the first car I have owned in 30 years that has a 1970's era rustout. Darn it. Third Year Review - Solid ride, still a joy to drive. Carried it up mountain roads and sandy beaches. The Altitude package tires are wide. Perfect for mud and sand. A few rattles are occasionally present, nothing I can't stand - could be my fault with my kids putting stuff everywhere. Still solid gas mileage and zero maintenance issues other than the cost of synthetic oil changes. Two Year Review. Still loving this ride! It looks great, sure a few chips and dings (parking lots are heck). It's a lot of fun on the road. Throaty sound and genuine acceleration underscore thrilling handling in turns, bad weather and off-road. Great gas mileage for a six-cylinder engine and I am not light on the pedal. No issues to report other than a nail in the tire which took some time to find and not a Jeep issue. A great value vehicle that is great for daily commutes and good for cross country treks. A few cons, the seats are not that comfortable on day-long rides - a bit short in the seat so my legs get tired when driving - not so bad when I can use cruise control. The technology interface had an upgrade in 2019 (kudos for that) but it requires me to set up my phone each time before it works on the screen (Android). On the coldest days my legs stay cold unless I change the settings to push heat towards my feet (never had to do this in any other car). However, after two years of ownership, I still love this vehicle. It's still a blast to drive and it is holding up great. One Year Review: I still love this vehicle. I have driven it to the shore and the mountains. Mostly it drives me to and from work. It is also the most fuel-efficient SUV I have driven. It has a peppy six-cylinder engine and it sips gas. My honda pilot needed a tank a week. The Jeep is half that amount, it feels good to go ten to fourteen days between fill-ups. It's fun to drive, handles all weather with ease. Last winter I drove for four hours through a blizzard and it was very stable and fun in the deep snow (I have a lot of experience driving through snow). The android interface is my only bone of contention. It's slow and doesn't pull my music very well on the touch screen, so I operate the phone and play through the sound system. Overall it's a small thing. I still get a thrill when I get behind the wheel and it is a blast to drive. Particularly when conditions are really terrible outside. It zooms when I need it. It cruises great. And it's still one of the sharpest looking vehicles on the road. Original Two Month Review: My Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Altitude package is a really fun vehicle. It's fast and generally very able on the road. This is the fifth SUV that I have owned and driven. Previously I have owned a mix of Fords and Hondas. This is my first Jeep. In terms of pluses, it really looks sharp and I get a lot of compliments from folks who agree. It's fun to drive, very peppy, great handling (for an SUV). I have only taken it off roads on some forest trails and it was not an issue. Good ground clearance and again very sure-footed on trails where I had to ride the berm or end up mushy ground. The cons include large blind spots not well covered by mirrors and a slow interface with my android phone. In balance, this is one of my favorite vehicles I have driven. It's a joy on the open road and it makes traffic a lot more tolerable with the comfortable seating and kick butt stereo. All and all I highly recommend the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the sharp Altitude package - black rims and lettering is a really nice touch.

Very nice vehicle but Nav map is over 2 years old
I just purchased the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. I love the vehicle. I drives well and I'm very happy with my purchase overall. Some nit picky things I've noticed right away are the Nav map is over 2 years old, the speed limit warning in the Nav doesn't work right and auto high beam control doesn't impress me. I'm in the Ashburn, VA area and roads/shopping areas extended/built within the past 2 and half years are not on the map, I just use my Android Auto for maps. The speed limit warning (which can be enabled/disabled) has been activated a few times on me while I'm on a 55mph road. The system flips to thinking 25mph is the speed limit as if it is getting confused with a nearby road. The high beam auto control feature (also selectable) seems wonky on a residential street. I can't leave my high beams on driving down my street with the feature on, although I can pull back on the control stick and hold it to get high beams on. I'm guessing it sees the house lights and thinks they are vehicles.

Three’s a Charm
This is my 3rd Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. 2012, 2015,2019. Put an average 180,000 on first two with zero issues. Best SUV I’ve Owned. Always V6 engine and pull 6500 pound boat with no problem. Looks great in the woods or at the Country Club. Great ride and comfort. Handles like sports car. Great value for my money.

Ecellent vehicle!
My wife purchased a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited with all the available options minus the rear seat entertainment system. The car is so great, that 10 months later, I went out and got one for myself, exactly the same just a different color. This is how much we like our Jeeps! Great SUV's!

Thought I loved It
So I had A 2014 overland model V8 which I absolutely loved and never had any issues with but after my accident I decided to trade it in on a brand new 2019 high altitude V8. Which I loved All the black out trim on it, the smoked out wheels, it was black. Sharp looking Jeep. Bought it home from the dealership and went back out to leave and it stalled when starting, did it 2 times and on the 3 time it started. Took it bsck to the dealer on Monday they had it did 3 days never did it for them. Hasn’t done it again either. Had to take it back for the side moldings be lose fixed, then just two weeks ago I had It in for moisture getting inside, they say they fixed it, go to leave and get on the highway and it sounds like a helicopter is over my car. Like when you roll your back windows down and get that annoying wind sound. Turn around and take it back, they had it for a week couldn’t figure it out. Btw you still can hear the wind noise inside the cabin. Today I go and open the hatch to put something and the back and notice water is laying on thd rubber mat and the little side holder on the left is filled with water. We had a rain all day/night yesterday and now the back of my car has water in it. Now it’s back to the dealership tomorrow to see what is wrong now. I have owned this Jeep for about 8 months and this will be my 6 time back to the dealership for an issue on a BRAND NEW JEEP. Despite all the issues with this Jeep I still love it, I just want these issues to be fixed and not have anymore. It’s an inconvenience to have to go back and forth to the dealership and to be stuck in a rental car that you absolutely hate.
great suv
there are many deals for all grand cherokees take advantage of them i am on my 3rd overland i like it over the range rover .no problems to report on the jeep where my friends have range rover sport always in the shop.

Terrible transmission. Tons of bugs Jeep can’t fix
This car started shifting hard and rough less than one week after I bought it with less than 1,000 miles on it. It has spent more time at the dealership to get fixed than it has in my driveway. Dealership cannot fix the issues and they are getting worse with the car refusing to shift, park or turn off now.

Great vehicle
I just signed the lease for a 2019 Grand Cherokee limited, the lease on the 2016 is up. This has been one of the best cars/SUV's I have ever owned, if fact maybe the best. Great reliability, not a thing has gone wrong, comfortable to drive and ride in, Nav works great, just can't find anything wrong with it. One thing that I don't like in the 2019, the rear heated seats are gone and that was a nice added feature. Other than that, this Grand Cherokee Limited has been awesome, I would recommend it to anyone UPDATE: Just turned 42,000 and bought the car off lease. This Jeep has been awesome. Just changed the tires from the original Michelins which were shot at 40,000 miles for Pirelli Scorpions which so far have been as good as the Michelins. Other than normal maintenance, changing the oil, filters and such, this Grand Cherokee has been excellent. Still rides great, mileage up to 25/gallon on the highway and still comfortable.

Definitely not a Honda
I decided to purchase this vehicle because I wanted a sporty fun to drive SUV that has a lot of technology. When I was purchasing this vehicle I had it narrowed down between my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2019 Honda Passport. I ultimately decided to go with the Jeep Grand Cherokee because it looked sportier and to me the Honda Passport looked to much like its sibling family hauler the Honda Pilot. Sadly I regret this decision because so far my Jeep Grand Cherokee has been no where near as reliable as my previous 2006 Honda Pilot. At 4,000 miles I had to get the entire steering wheel replaced because the stitching was unraveling from the leather. Now at 8,000 miles my front end is making a terrible clunking noise as I go up and down slight inclines such as a house drive way. I had my 2006 Honda Pilot for 10 years and 130,000 miles and never once had this issue with the exact same drive way. Also the transmission that is in this vehicle is a piece of crap. On occasions when accelerating in city or highway driving the vehicles transmission seems to get confused and not know what gear to shift into. Also when shifting through the different gears such as drive, reverse, neutral, and park, the transmission is very delayed in picking up which gear it has been shifted into. Then on one occasion in the past the transmission didn’t pick up on the fact that I shifted in reverse and would not do anything but rev up and display the backup camera when I was trying to reverse out of a parking lot, luckily all I had to do was put it back in park and shift back into reverse in order to back out the parking lot. So when I go to the dealer to get my oil changed I will definitely have to bring up all of these issues and see how they may address them. As of now I haven’t had any issues with the engine start/stop feature but it is a huge pain when trying to park or briefly stop to turn at a stop sign because the second I push down on the break the engine turns off and has a decent delay for the engine to turn back on. Like every time the engine start/stop feature is activated it is very noticeable because the engine shakes the whole car when it turns off and back on. On the other hand the car offers a wonderful driving experience that is both sporty and luxurious. I just wish that the vehicle was built higher quality than what it is. So next time I think I’m going to stick with Honda.
Half Price of a German!
Recently purchased this vehicle two months ago. I have to say me only driving luxury cars this car is comparable to BMW, Mercedes, and others. The amount of comfort in this car is unbelievable. The features that this car comes with and the aesthetics of this car is truly worth it. MSRP of the car I’ve gotten was $43925 and ended up bringing the price down to $36,000. For $36,000 you can’t get any better than this. The only downside of having this car is when going to service. Being so used to BMW service, the service from Jeep is horrible but overall worth it. #JEEPLIFE

Jeep Grand Cherokee limited v6 is awesome!
This is my third and best grand Cherokee limited I have owned so far and they just keep getting better. This is a JOY to drive and I feel like this is just as peppy as my 2001 v8 was with much better gas mileage! The 8 speed automatic has been fantastic for me and mated to the v6 makes this ride a fun one indeed. I’m averaging 21-22 mpg combined and 28-29 on the freeway which exceeded my expectations. What a great engine and transmission ......thanks fiat America! This is my experience and I understand others may vary.

Getting better with age
Since the last stop at the dealership everything is working on the car for the first time since I bought it. Took roughly two years to get a trouble free car. The transmission is still rough at times but I can live with it. Enjoying the drive without electronic demons ruining the experience. Hope the trouble free experience lasts. Wish that they offered add on apps for the uconnect system to bring it up to date without buying a new car. Update Still trouble free. Was considering trading it in but the dealers have no product. What cars they do have they are adding 5 to 10 thousand dollars over the sticker price. Not worth the hassle. I guess I will keep the 2019.

I have the same. It's actually called the luxery package II and advanced safty package. I probably overpaid a little at 43,480 and paid 3,000 for 10 year/100,000k warranty but my wife wanted black/tan. I love it sits high rides great accelerates great good mpg. Love it Xtras heated front and rear seats steering wheel windows mirrors, ventilated front seats, and a bunch more stuff. Safty adds it has it all, it will stop you from crashing. And the tech intergration. Awesome, if you use waze or Apple play it is seemless

Can't be more exciting
I've owned Mercedes, jaguars, and a Porsche cayenne GTS. Forget about all of them. This Jeep SRT leaves them all behind. Electronics, Ride, and Power. Forget those low profile tires ! None of those big names could compare. AND THE SRT IS HALF THE PRICE !

V6 GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED X
There is absolutley no power problems with the V6, it gets up and moves, and Im a fast car/ bike type person...turn ECO mode off and the automatic shutoff that Jeep decided was a good idea and you are good. Not sure who thought it was under powered but have you driven 85% of the cars out there ? they can't move out of their own way !!

Stop/Start - TWO MORE SECONDS PLEASE
I've never before owned a vehicle with the Stop/Start feature. I'm not opposed to it, they just need to improve it. This thing can turn off the engine in less than two seconds after coming to a stop. If it just waited another two seconds I don't think I would ever find it disturbing. I pull into my garage and it turns off the engine....which would be fine except I haven't shifted to PARK yet. When I do...the engine starts again...just so I can then turn it off. The same thing happens pulling up to the drive-up window at the bank. TWO MORE SECONDS would fix this. I find myself changing the way I drive to circumvent what this thing wants to do. Lifting your foot off the brake early at stop signs, or not completely stopping at all is one example. I know, there is a button to turn this feature off, but its ALWAYS ON when you start the vehicle. The car has to irritate me once first to remind me I can turn off the "feature". The engineer in me says this just can't be any good for longevity of the starter and associated components. JEEP, CHRYSLER...TWO MORE SECONDS, PLEASE !
Trackhawk is an absolute monster
What can I say this thing defies the laws of physics. If you’ve driven in one then you know just what this thing is capable of. It will have you back in your seat laughing like a happy kid. It blurs out snarls and roars when you hit the gas yet has all the road manners of a luxury SUV when you just wanna cruise. My only gripe about this car is Jeep service. JEEP are you listening? After tax I spent over $100k yet I don’t get a rental car or have to wait hours for something if I am in service. At best the dealer will rent me a car or send me home in Uber which strands me without a vehicle because my Trackhawk is my only car. You should create a service feature where any car over $50k gets loaner vehicles and free car washes. Fix that and I’ll be a customer for life. Update: I drove the car to about 15,000 miles and sold it. I had to replace brake rotors and pads which cost nearly $5K and a set of tires for about $2K. Expensive toys have expensive repairs. Be prepared for that every 15k miles or so. I lowered the car using Eibach springs to help with the body roll in the turns. It helped immensely and smoothed our the ride a lot. Track mode became unusable though because the ride was way too harsh. All in all it’s a great vehicle. I somehow went from 1 car to 3 in a matter of months and stopped driving the Jeep. It made no sense to pay for Expensive registration and insurance for a car that just sat there. I still recommend the Trackhawk but I hope that they come out with a new body style soon. This current one is 7 or 8 years old now.

The Grand Cherokee Experience
Excellent vehicle. The 6 cylinder paired with the 8 speed automatic transmission makes for excellent performance in the city or on the highway. Jeep has certainly came a long way with the vehicles ride, comfort and performance. The only complaint that I have is the way the dealership witch I leased it from treated my wife and I.

Great SUV @ Great Price
I have been driving my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 6 months now. My company leased me this as my "company car" as I sometimes have to transport customers and/or product. Overall, this has been a great vehicle. It needs only a few items to feel more premium based on the pricing. Pluses: Styling and quality are excellent. I still look at it when I am walking away from it as I think the Jeep Grand Cherokee has to be one of the sexiest looking SUV's out there. The quality of the Grand Cherokee has been very good. I have only had it to the dealership for an oil change. The Uconnect media interface is great. It occasionally has an issue connecting, but overall, very good. I like the ride. I hate floaty vehicles that don't "feel" the road. Driving in snow is effortless. Great visibility. Doesn't feel like it's going to tip over when making a "spirited" turn. Negatives: The dealership experience is a joke. Between the sales people and the service staff and lack of an upscale experience at the local CJDR (Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram) dealer, I feel like I have bought a lowly fleet vehicle even though this is a Limited trim line with 4 wheel drive. The fuel economy combined is approximately 17-18 mpg. I had a 2016 Ford Explorer EcoBoost 4 cylinder which got 15 mpg combined and was a dog. This drives much nicer. Please don't make me press the "eco" button every damn time I get in this SUV to turn off the stop/start feature. Obnoxious. Relocate the memory functions for the seats. On the left hand drivers door panel is where my knee hits it constantly. It needs to be mounted higher on the door panel. The seats are squishy and not very supportive. It seems like Jeep went cheap on the amount of foam or the foam stiffness. My leather jacket seems to have discolored the "beige" trim. More wheel choices would be nice. Not really a fan of the 18" wheels on the Limited version. They look a little small. 19" or 20" wheels should be more of a stand alone option. The A/C seems to kick off when I forget to turn off the ECO mode at lights. The acceleration seems a little sluggish at times with this transmission hunting for the gears under hard acceleration. The brakes are great! Rain sensor wipers should be standard on this trim level too. Bottom line - I could live with this vehicle for 4-5 years. I would also buy this vehicle as my own personal SUV. I looked at GMC Acadia's briefly as well, but their lease prices were higher and the dealerships seemed to be even more arrogant. I also own a German luxury sedan and an American sports car made in Kentucky. This is a great addition to my "fleet" as I have decided to keep those other two vehicles for the time being. I find myself driving the Jeep more than my other two vehicles because of the ability to throw whatever I want in it.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo E
This budget friendly SUV comes with Trail Rated package, which is definitely worth the extra $1800. Acceleration is very good. The ride is smooth and confident. The turning radius is fantastic. Gas mileage is lower than stated by the manufacturer. I get overall 17 miles per gallon combined. The vehicle is very well built. There are no squeaks or rattles. The stock Good Year tires are adequate for winter driving, however, I will get winter tires for the next season.

JGC Summit-WOW!,,
Ivory is a lot different than white-it has sparkles which stand out in the sun. This is my third JGC, and this year they thought of everything. Impressive to look at, as well as to drive. 8 cylinder engine makes a huge difference, but worth the cost. Gas mileage is low, but I can count on this car to have necessary power to maneuver to avoid an accident. Dealership experience was subpar to say the least. $60,000 Jeep requires Lexus-type dealership and service. Asking me to pay for keyfob batteries or license plate brackets is insulting. Lexus dealership not only provides these things at no cost, but washes your car every time. Once you get past dealership issues, the car is amazing, luxurious and does everything I can think of! Definitely recommend.
The best vehicle ever!!
Never thought of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and boy am I glad we did! My wife and I absolutely love this vehicle, from top to bottom.

My 2019 srt is my 3rd
I love these vehicles, I had a 2015, 2017 and now a 2019. The hemi v8 With the 8 speed transmission makes this drive like an sports car. The nav system and other technology is super intuitive and you don't need to read a manual to figure it out. Comfortable seats, everything is good quality and it has great styling, handling and comfort. The ride is a little harsh but that’s the way I like it. Jeep, please keep making these.

A Great Vehicle that Keep Surprising Me
I had fairly limited criteria when leasing a new vehicle. I wanted one that had excellent safety features, smartphone integration for navigation/entertainment, extra cargo capacity (i.e. SUV), and was very comfortable to someone of my height/size. My new Jeep Grand Cherokee has met all of these requirements, and keeps surprising me with new features that I didn't even know existed. (For example, the other day, I wasn't paying attention to the road and started to drift into the shoulder. That was when I noticed that the car "steered" me back into the lane, once it detected that I was straying over the double line.) I am very much enjoying my new vehicle, and am very pleased with my purchase/lease.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Upland
Overall It’s a great Vehicle, I just purchased it so I can’t give a great in depth review with maintenance and long term Ownership. It’s been good so far, i do 70% City driving and 30% Highway. I live in LA so it’s a comfortable ride over the potholes and random dips. Just got the vehicle because i needed something bigger for my future Baby. So far I have no complaints with the vehicle other than that I do crave more power but it’s more of a personal complaint.

For me a Jeep over all others.
I researched vehicles for months trying to find a $35,000-$40,000 price range that would satisfy my specific needs. I normally drive pickups but since we only have one vehicle wife said no more pickups. I wasn’t going to drive a Kia or Hyundai or a Toyota Highlander and the Toyota 4 Runner is archaic. So hello Grand Cherokee. Wife approved and I was really impressed. As with Jeep they don’t radically change body style so a 10 yr old Jeep doesn’t look dated.

Biggest POS ever made
Where to start, well I guess I will start with the single star. It gets one because when it works its a fun car to drive. HOWEVER, I bought this car to have something safe and reliable to drive my growing family around in. HA! Jokes on me, three transmissions (original, one rebuilt, one new) later, and i am sitting here AGAIN, waiting on a tow truck. I do have the “trail hawk” if that makes a difference, but no transmission should need to be worked on at 500, 5,000, and now again at 29,000 miles. It has left me stranded with my child in the car multiple times. But even more so, that’s not the only times this POS has been in the shop, the fancy battery they rave about, its been replaced twice. The car decided to just stop on the highway because it thought the “hood was ajar”, well i promise you that it was not and one sensor later and I was on my way. However, this “put vehicle in desired gear of park” and “vehicle not in park” and now “Service Trans Press Brake When Stopped Key Off Engine to Engage Park” is not what I expected out of a vehicle that is supposed to be known for reliability and safety. That is all, my tow truck should be here soon.

2019 Grand Cherokee Disappoints
I found the ride comfort to be terrible. Even though the vehicle is very sound inside you feel every bump in the road. Also the 2019 I believe is lighter in weight and will cause a jumpy start when accelerate. I also question the gas mileage I have not gotten above 16.5 city and highway combined. For this price point its a disappointment.

Smooth Ride!
We’re at almost 40k miles & V6 a bit stronger than I thought. Did have 1 instance where transmission locked up but hasn’t happened since. Good midsize space & suede seats holding up very well! Changed tires once. Not crazy a/b Uconnect feature as there’s opportunity to improve it. Overall, definitely recommend vehicle w/timeless look 😊

My first Jeep and most likely my lastt
I've had Japanese cars for the last 20 years and now realize the difference in craftsmanship and quality. This things just feels unpolished and loose. Needs an engineer with attention to detail to go over it. A Bump here a vibration there is just unacceptable on a brand new vehicle.

2019 Grand Cherokee Altitude
I traded in my 2019 Honda Pilot Touring on a 2019 Jeep GC Altitude - the worst mistake i have ever made. I don't understand these positive reviews. The Jeep is noisy, poorly made, and my dealership is a joke. The rear view mirror system on these cars are from the 70s. The sport mode is terrible, and once engaged it does not want to shift properly. The so-called leather with that cheap insert in the seats is terrible. I was raised in the car business family, and have raised and built cars for many years. I would never recommend buying one of these cars.

Fender flares
Fender flares on front peeling off and rear flares on passenger side extends out beyond door and is dangerous, when entering and exiting vehicle, will hang clothing, sweaters, can pull a person down and make you fall. Service manager stated all Grand Cherokee have this design fault. I would not recommend any Grand Cherokee with a design fault.

104,000 miles and still like new.
Purchased this 2014 GC Overland hemi new in 2014. Its an every day driver and we frequently pull an oversize warm blood horse trailer with it. This vehicle has it all. Luxury, power and brawn in a single package. Its a joy to drive and is great as a long distance tourer. The fit and finish are great and the paint is just as it left the showroom. Recently had it polished and ceramic coated for the first time. Always serviced by Jeep, it has been completely trouble free. I just put the 3rd set of tires on and re-did the brakes. On or off road, no matter the weather, this car performs. The electronics are updated wirelessly and the updates for audio, apps etc are terrific. The audio system in this car doesn’t quite match my Jaguar Meridian system, but it too is spectacular in sound and can really push the volume without distortion or rattles. The SUV is loaded with safety features that just plain work and are way ahead of its competition, both at the time and now. My only niggling minor issue is with the navigation. It wasn’t up to speed when it was new and is further behind now. That said, I have always used Waze, so it doesn’t impact me. The stock nav works and is sufficient if needed, enough said. I would normally rotate my SUV to a new one by now, but as long as it continues to perform and look as it does, I wouldn’t think of it. People get in it and think it looks and smells new. Yes it cost $50k new and doesn't get great gas mileage (its a large SUV with a hemi after all), but it has been and still is a heck of a ride. NOTE: I had to pick the Trailhawk vehicle type as it didn’t show a hemi Overland as a choice. It is a hemi Overland GC.

Gear issue
About 2 moths ago, i was driving to work when the car got stock on 3er gear, it was not shifting lower or higher, check engine when on, i stopped the car, turn it off, and it went back to normal but the check engine light was still on. The next day day i took it to the dealer, they took about 10 day to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the car, even though i even told them that it was doing hard shifting as well, and today it happened again, i took it to run a diagnostic and the code P0733 came on, called the dealer and they told me that the check engine light has to be on, but they want me to take the car next moth!! When the check engine light is already off!! How that gonna work?? That’s unacceptable, if a car owner tells u that his/her car is having an issue, u should take the word for it, cause no owner wants to take theirs car to the dealer for no reason!!

Disconnecting the negative battery cable
Our model is the 2019 Limited SUV Trail Rated with the 5.7 V8 engine. (There was no option in this review to choose this engine.) I researched Jeep for many months and ordered exactly what I wanted and we are very pleased. We are retired so don't use it every day which is why I modified and installed a battery disconnect switch. The battery is under the front passenger seat and would be very difficult to disconnect and reconnect the negative cable. After installing my modified switch, even with the front passenger seat moved forward and me behind it I can just slide my fingers under the battery cover and move the switch lever to disconnect the negative cable. I mention this because some people have their Jeep towed by their RV and they are instructed to disconnect the negative cable which without a switch it would be very inconvenient and a hassle. UPDATE 2.28.22 I no longer bother with the disconnect switch but try to use it every few days. At the beginning we had a problem where it would not shift to a higher gear when starting off from a stop but we haven't had that for a year. We took delivery 4.30.19 and only have about 8,500 miles 2.18.22. We use 89 octane in our 5.7 L engine. Glad we got the 5.7 L because I think the smaller engine is under powered unless you mostly do city driving. No comment on the dealer as ownership and staff has changed. Had to order our vehicle to get what I wanted. This thing is a lot more complicated and we still are unfamiliar with all of its bells and whistles. I am almost 84 and it is not as simple as a 1950s vehicle. We do like it very much and glad we bought when we did as I don't think things have changed much other than the price going up and maybe more difficult to get what you want. We have never had the opportunity yet to use its full capabilities. It was paid off last year as is the service contract now. It is trail rated so has skid plates, etc. I have waxed it several times and it is kept in an attached heated garage, which makes it easy to service. I changed to Mobile 1 synthetic oil at 5,000 miles and use Jeep filters. It is coming up on the third year of our new "20 year" plan. Will take it to a car wash next time out as we are now in below zero weather and my home winter usage of water jacks up my sewer charge all summer. Update: We now (8.18.23) have only 15,000 miles on the odometer. The only problem we have had was I left the driver’s door open overnight and it ran the battery down. My trickle charger would not charge it. I would think that it should have cut off the battery to prevent that. Getting a jump and driving the vehicle restored the battery. Maybe it shortened the battery life but I do not know. I still no longer use the disconnect switch. Other than that we have had no problems but I do need to rotate the tires. It still has not seen a dealer since taking delivery and I change my own oil and filters.

One of the best SUV's I have ever owned
I just purchased a certified 2019 Grand Cherokee Altitude in Jan. 2020. I absolutely love the vehicle. It looks awesome and it drives wonderfully. I find the ride to be relatively smooth, contrary to some other reviews I have read. The 3.6 V6 factory motor offers plenty of punch for driving on the Dallas area highways. The Jeep is also much quicker than my 2017 Ford Explorer, which is what I traded in for the Jeep. It doesn't have the torque and power of my old 2011 Grank Cherokee Overland, but there is a big difference in motors. But for a V-6, it will still get up and go. The interior and seats are beautiful and the finish in the cabin is very nice to me. All the controls are easily accessible. The large glass center console is easy to use. The stereo I have in the Altitude I bought is quite amazing and it really jams, with plenty of bass due to the sub-woofer. Overall It is comfortable and very fun to drive. If you are looking for an SUV, I'd highly recommend that you do yourself a favor and test drive one of these. Avg MPG right now for me is 19.4, and I have not had it on the highways much at all. The negative- No stereo control on the steering wheel, not that big of a deal really

Nice but no Rubicon
For 2019 Jeep has made some fantastic improvements, but they did not all carry over into the Grand Cherokee. I assumed the controls/ switches & back up camera of the Cherokee would be the same as on the Rubicon. No comparison.Cherokee sucks. Every function has to go via touch screen.Besides this, the Cherokee beats the other suv’S , especially the crap GM has.It is a good bang for the $$.It is plush ,but not gaudy.Drives well, comfterable, quite,&does what a suv is for. It’s rear wheel drive, with a real engine(not some pissy4cyl turbo that needs premium fuel), unless that’s what you want as an option. The jap crap is front wheel drive. OK for eco boxes, but not an suv.For the$$,I was impressed on my test drive, but as stated previous,it’s no Rubicon. But ,what is?Unless something better comes along,I’ll park one next to our Rubi for the wife.

Cheap
This $43,000.00 SUV is cheap, when you drive down the road and the doors lock you jump because it's so loud and tinny sounding, when you get in and out you bump your head or knock your hat off. My guy at Centennial leasing got me this and told me it was a awsome car, he no longer has my business after 18 years of business.
