this car is blehmazing
This car has a meh on road attitude. However once you let the thirsty 4.7 HO V8 off road, she becomes one amazing SUV. In years of living in middle GA i have only been stuck in the mud twice. Great 1st car for your son or a offroader.

A Real SUV
Simply put, a great SUV through and through. The Overland is not for everyone, and are best suited for those enthusiasts of true off-road vehicles. Remember, the Jeep will behave and react like an SUV should, and when properly maintenanced will provide years of inexplicable joy and recreation.

Mechanical parts stand the test of time
I am the first owner of my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Columbia Edition and have had it for 15 years. Positives: Mechanical parts are solid and 4WD still works like a champ. Just recently getting to the point were some major issues (radiator leaking and resealing engine block) need addressed. Negatives There have always been electrical issues with this model, but not to a fault of driving. I have replaced a door wiring harness and have a sensor that still erroneously goes off once in a while.
the real deal
this is my second jeep and i like it better than most suvs out there. this is a true go anywhere vehicle period. if you feel you need an suv as a daily driver, better look for something else because this is for those who actually need a capable vehicle able to go through almost anything nature throws at them. maybe this is why jeeps are often used as search and rescue vehicles and not just for off road. the only other true suvs that is as capable as a jeep is a hummer, a rover, and an mb g-series. that's it. a jeep is what you need and will be glad that you have when the going gets real tough.
poor interior design
the inside was poorly designed. there isn't enough leg room on a long trip. not enough places to put glasses and things. I feel closed in the jeep should be wider. Other than that I love my jeep
