Used 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews
A Good All Around Vehicle
I bought my 2004 Grand Cherokee used from the local dealer with about 15k miles on it. Having read all the reviews stating different mechanical problems, I test drove at least a dozen Grand Cherokees before I settled on this one. Many of the Jeeps I test drove had a wandering front end, pulsating brakes or transmission noise. Some had too many miles with no warranty left. The one I picked had 2 years and 20k left on the warranty and NO symptoms of any mechanical problems. After 8,000 miles there are still no problems. If you can find a good one like I did, it makes a perfect every day car.
2004 Jeep grand cherokee
I feel safe and protected in this SUV. It has an air leak sound when the heating sysem is in use, which is irritating and aparently normal. The mileage is bad...16 to 17 mpg. The grand cherokee is not as sporty looking as the limited. I recommend the Enumclaw delarship. The side to side motion does not feel as stable as the 2000 which I owned previously.

Bouncing along
Well, what can I say. I should have bought a beamer. This thing has plenty of power and really sucks the fuel right out of the pump when I pull up. The ride is real busy and I'm only hoping that I will adjust with time. I owned a S-10 blazer for years. I hate to say it but the blazer was less expensive to operate and road better. I only hope I learn to enjoy the ride
Good buy for the money
We have a 1988 Cherokee Classic, and the improvements made to the Grand Cherokee rival other boulevard SUVs. With great performance off-road, and competitive handling/performance on street driving, the Grand Chaerokee is a good buy for the money.
Jeep Realities
We bought this Jeep fully intending to keep it for a long long time. It's a 2WD Cherokee LTD. By 6000 miles we began to experience problems with brake rotor warping and peddle pulsation. It got so bad I was concerned about losing control during braking. The bottom line -- dealer told us to pound salt. Gas mileage horrible for a 6 cylinder (16.9 mpg city). Would NEVER buy a jeep again (or any Chrysler product).
