Should have kept my Audi

Word to the wise do not ever buy one. I used to work for jeep and when I bought it wasn't sure if I was making the right choice. Then I realized that my Audi was not going to tow my snowmobiles and jetskis so I bought it thinking that since I work for jeep it will be easy for me to fix. Well, I will say I was thinking wrong. This car has broke down so many times I don't even know were to start. Starter rear diff, trans. The biggest of them all was when my wife was driving on the expressway and the seat frame snapped. When it snapped it fliped the seat back about 8 inches. Which almost caused a huge wreck.

Bought new in time for first child. Wanted something safe to carry him around. Been thru many blizzards with no problems. 76,000 mi and only on second set of tires, 2nd set of brakes. Just came out of warranty with no issues. Very Comfortable on long trips. 4.0 six is one of the best motors out there. This thing has been unstoppable. Just wish I could lock it into 4hi.

Poor Long Term Reliability

The Jeep Grand Cherokee was a decent SUV for the first five years - but for the last three years it's just been bleeding money. In the past 24 months, I've spend over $7,000 keeping this thing running. New rear axle, right rear bearing, left rear bearing, power steering pump, fuel pump, battery, fuel filter, power window motors (2), two speakers, hood shocks, all new shocks, tires multiple times, 3 new oxygen sensors for the engine, two new engine (spark plug) coils, new fuel regulator, starter. The worst thing is the alignment. Because Jeep does not allow the camber to be adjusted, I have a slight pull to the left, and need to have the tires rotated at 3k miles and replaced often.

Bought new (for a really good price) in March of '02. Started having trouble from the get go. Had the left rear tire blow out every 3,000 miles, then at 11,500 the tranny blew up. That's just the beginning. Nonstop problems...gas guzzler...inside is bland. If you do get one get the V8

I bought this vehicle for my college age son who drove it to school. The transmission went out at 75K miles Recently, he has had problems with the starter (intermittent starting problems). I was hesitant to buy a Chrysler product due to known quality and reliabilty issues but decided to take a chance on Jeep because he liked it. Never again! Once everything is corrected, I will sell the vehicle and buy a Honda.
