Well let's see.....
I've had the Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 3 years. I haven't had any REAL BIG problems yet. One major thing to keep in mind: it makes a humming sound in the rear. I heard it's a common problem with the JGC's. The cab is extremely noisy, especially in the back seat. The 4WD also takes about a 1/4 mile to 'pop' back into 2WD. Taking corners on the 4WD is also a chore. Overall, I like the Jeep and would consider buying another, just beware of the 'hum', it will drive you NUTS!!
Great price on OK vehicle
Im an 18 year old high school student and have had this car almost a year. Bought it to replace my 94 accord. Paid $10,000 for it with ~42,000 miles! Has every option except leather. Gas milage sucks at 13mpg in the city, but then again, I am a lead footed teen. The car seems to like to break on me. Replaced transfer case 3 times, drive shaft twice and rear differential twice, all on Keffers tab! Only other money spent out of pocket has been a set of tires and rear brakes (oil changes and gas dont count!)

1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic
Coming up on 5 years of ownership. This is the bright red (Flame Red) Jeep color. Paint has held up extremely well. Mechanically, this has been a very sound car. I have the 4.0 6 cyl. engine. "Bullet proof." This is the 3rd Jeep Cherokee that I have owned. Quite pleased and a safe car. Easy to maintain and very reliable. Ride is more "truck like" than a Grand Cherokee - I own one of those, too...Make no mistake - in the snow or in slick conditions the Cherokee out- performs the Grand Cherokee
I adore my jeep. I want to marry it.
I really love this car. It was my dad's until two years ago when he gave it to me for my sixteenth birthday. It's fun to drive -lots of power, and it's never had to go into the shop for anything major. In almost 3 years I've put about 70,000 miles on it because I travel a ways to school, but the only problem is that sometimes- in very cold weather- it doesn't want to start immediately...and that's not too much of an inconvienence. And the gas milage isn't terrible for an SUV-I get about 23 mpg. It still runs great and I could drive it forever. I love my jeep, I really do.
Champ
I bought the jeep smashed up in the front for a great price. Bought some new and used parts and painted it in my garage. Has been great ever since. Yearly maintenance is $100-$200 on average and I pile the miles on it. More reliable and durable than anything on the road. Everyone says in these reviews that they wish they still built them, the truth is that they do in China. AMC/Renault put a plant there in the 80's and they still build them today. Maybe they will offer them for sale here, I would buy one.
