What a Lemon
I would not recommend this car to anyone. It is the worst car I ever had. I am just thankful that it was on a lease and was returned. The car is absolutely gorgeous and definitely a head turner. That's where it stops. The car had more problems than my previous 8 (Japanese) cars combined. I had it in the shop four times for interior lights that would come on by themselves, three times for a fuel door that would not open, blown supercharger gasket and the final straw when I was stranded for three hours waiting for a tow because the car would not come out of park. New tires at 13,000 miles, brakes at 18,000 miles. What a hunk of junk. I hope they get it together and fix the problems.
"Year Of The Cat" an update.
I reviewed this car when I first got it in April 2008, and again several months later. Fast forward 4 years and 46,000 miles. I have had several problems. All but one (transmission shifter recall) were minor nuisances that didn't stop the vehicle and were handled quickly by the Jaguar dealer. At the end of my lease (April 2012), I purchased the car and a dealer warrenty. I plan to keep driving and enjoying this cat for years to come. It is a stunning ride and has saved my life from some nimrod exiting the freeway from the middle lane. Great brakes and panic stop control!

Thrilling Drive
I had test driven the BMW 550, Lexus GS350, Acura RL/TL, and Infiniti G37. None of these could compare to the driving experience of the Jaguar XF SC. The handling isn't as tight as the BMW but it is comfortable on long hauls. This automobile can also get up and go. I only have 4700 miles so cannot comment on reliability at this point but from what I have experienced I do not have any complaints. The only issue I have experienced is a CATS failure but this occurred only once and to reset all I had to do was stop the car and restart the engine.
XF Supercharged: A Wonderful Machine!
This Supercharged XF is the blend between luxury and sport! It has the virtues of a fine luxury sports sedan, but with the DSC off and Sport mode engaged this is a machine with huge power on tap. The handling is quick and incredible, while always maintaining a slick and smooth feel, I love the way it looks too.
Transmission problems!
To all my fellow XF owners who have found their car stuck in park, or drive, I feel your pain. I LOVE this car. LOVE IT! But, twice in the past 6 weeks, I have been stranded with my vehicle jammed in Drive, unable to move the shift lever. The dealership has been really nice about the situation, claiming it is a factory recall issue. The fact that it has now happened twice makes me think that it is actually a design flaw. I'm afraid I'm going to have to sell the car and would tell anyone considering purchasing one, to CAREFULLY reconsider. Although it's really a great ride, the fact that it's left me on the side of the road twice now, is NOT OKI for a $65,000 automobile.
