I love my XG350
Even though my car is now 7 years old - i still have people asking me about it. Most are surprised it is as old as it as and a Hyundai. I like the classiness of only 1 area on the car that tells what it is .I don't know about fuel economy. I believe if you can't afford fuel you shouldn't be driving the car. Biggest expense has been tires - I'm hard on tires on any car. I have aftermarket wheels and low profile tires - Car looks great. Should be worth more in secondary market but Hyundai still hasn't recovered there & should have . My friends with other imports do/did not have the same reliability, low maintenance costs .I'd buy another .
No Regrets
Recently moved to Florida and needed a car right away. I loved the look of this car at a used dealership. 6 Years old and it ran soooo smooth, I named it "Denzel". It just needs it reagular oil change, i've replaced all belts and, with just one previos owner. So far its been worth its purchase price.

Best Buy Ever!
I've owned 4 Hyundais. I currently also have a 2007 Azera. I bought this one as a left over in early 2003. In 142,000 miles, I've put $200 into it for non-maintenance repairs. The reliability has been unbelievable. All I've replaced are tires, brakes, and the battery. And I service the tranny, cooling system and oil regularly. The last time it had a full tune up, it was still in South Korea! The body is still good (paint just starting to weather), the interior has held up fine. The electronics have been good. The cruise control occasionally goes into a funk (it won't resume properly), but it's straightened itself out every time. If it died today, it would still be the best car value ever.
Perfect for Me
When I started looking for my 3rd car in two years, I was definitely really picky, and I happened to test drive, a 2001 xg300 and I was in love, then I kept my search strong I knew that the xg is what I had to have. Finally I found my xg350 is great shape, and bought the car of my dreams
PLEASE MAKE HYUNDAI YOU'RE NEXT CAR!!!!!
I have only owned this car for almost two years now and have put 20,000 miles on it and it is ready to turn 200,000 miles and still drives like brand new and is extremely powerful and fast!!
Out of the Mainstream
I've had my XG350 for over a year now, and am satisfied overall. What I don't like is: (1)leather seats are too hard, (2)gear shift lever can be too easily put into manual mode (3)no autodimming rear view mirror for this model and (4) poor resale value. On the plus side, the V6 provides more than adequate power, and there's a nice array of standard options.
They're easy to find cheap, and there's a reason.
Bought this car at 180k. Fixed a little bit before I got it registered. Immediately after about 200 miles, water pump goes out. $600 (min) repair. Then I discovered it was leaking power steering fluid, the previous owner neglected to tell me this, though she did leave a bottle of power steering fluid in the back. I ran it dry not knowing it leaked so who knows what will go out and how much it costs next. It runs great the engine is good and quiet. They just cost a LOT to repair.

I drive a lot and really like my XG-350
I do a lot of highway driving and this has proven to be the most comfortable vehicle I've ever owned, especially considering the relatively low price. Frankly, I find it on par with my friends' Lexus.
See ya Avalon
Best buy out there. Period.
XG350L-Classy? Sassy? U bet yer chassis!
I love my XG350L! Its beautiful, feels solid, goes fast quietly, accelerates quickly, handles predictably and firmly -- yet with a comfortable ride on its heated, power, leather seats, has auto everything and looks and acts like a much more expensive car. I make excuses to go places just to get behind the wheel again! That faux wood looks great and feels wonderful inlaid in the leather-bound steering wheel. Everyone admires the car; this is a Hyundai? Yes! Drive it and judge for yourself.
Noticed a lot of same problems.
I was reading some of the reviews and noticed same problems. Anyway our XG350 gave us a couple of problems. First one was the Alternator, coolant hose was bad, radio keeps shutting off on its own, moon roof doesn't work, tiptronic isn't good at all shifts way to late, transmission is starting to go bad, car feels like it has no control (handling), shocks starting to make noise but its sounds like it might be the bushings not the shocks. Hope it is shocks and not bushings by the way my mom drives this car and it has max 20,000 miles and its an 02. Other than that the car is pretty fast for a Hyundai. But I wouldn't recommend this car to anyone. It doesn't look nice and quality isn't that great.
XG350Lemon
I really want to like this car...unfortunately, it's not mutual. Since Mar-02, this car has been in the service dept. for 39 days (excluding Sundays) with electrical problems. While this is a clear Lemon Law case, Hyundai is fighting me.
Lot of Car, lo money - Lo Quality
Bought used at 40k mi. Engine lunched at 115k. If you buy or own, change the darn timing belt @ 70k. Belt is made of pressed fiber of some sort. The Korean v6, unlike American v6, is an interference engine - meaning if the timing belt goes, the pistons and valve beat the engine to death - unlike a non-interference engine. We run Mobil one synthetic from day one. We have two American cars - both v6 - one at 180k the other at 225k. Never changed the timing belt. Both run. The xg350 had a rattle in the driver side trunk. It cruised smoothly and easy on long trips but about as much fun to drive as an Abrams tank. Do not recommend and will never buy another Hyundai. Your mileage may vary
Fun car to own and drive
The first time my wife drove the new car, someone stopped her and asked about her new "Mercedes". When my son and daughter-in-law saw it, they thought it was a Porsche. We bought this car because it offers the luxury we want at a moderate price, plus a great warrenty. I love the Shiftronic transmission, which is close to straight drive, while wifey prefers the auto. The 3.5 has enough "pep" with the 5 speed to climb hills and pass easily. We have only had it a week, but are really enjoying it.
Finally, A car we wanted
We have looked at cars for almost one year. Price was part of the quotient but not the determining factor. We considered Cadillac Seville STS and found that the Hyunda XG350L was the only car that really excited us. I have wanted an STS for many years now but after driving new and used ones, and reading the reports on reliability I found I was no longer interested. Nameplates mean nothing to us and we found a car we could get excited about at a price that is unbelievable. I'm not sure how they can sell the car for the price they do. Responsive, good looking and loaded with the features we wanted. Euros and Japaneese carmakers take note. There is once again competition in the new car market.
Bulletproof
I'm going to save the extra long review about my personal life and say I bought this car in 2009 and the current year is 2017, i've literally never had any issues, i have driven this little car to 23 different states and have taken a 19 hour long trip with only stopping for gas. Loss for words on how dependable this car is.

Bought 55 inch tv with money I saved
I bought a 55 inch tv with money I saved by not buying the Toyota Avalon. Great car!!! Great price, awesome value, bought a titanium XG350L for for $22,040, invoice $23,200. Dealerships have some great incentives from Hyundai to sell volume.
A good car
I bought a 2002 Hyundai XG350. It had 95,000 miles and one owner. It has been a great car very low maintenance besides a tuneup and new brakes, I put new belts on it because of its age otherwise it has been a very great used car. I’ve had it for two years with very little or no problems.😎👍🏾

Ear-to-Ear Grin
I rate vehicle ride quality for a living. I've driven many different vehicles. The XG350L that I own is on par with cars that cost thousands of dollars more. In fact, the only vehicle that I've driven that had better ride quality was a Lexus LS400, several years ago. So far, I am very happy with my purchase. The car is fun and very comfortable. It looks fantastic. The heated seats are perfect for the northern climate I live in (my wife loves the seats too. She can turn the heated seat on and the heater can be turned down, making me more comfortable). The sound system is fantastic. What a great car!
XG350 - Luxury for the masses
We are very pleased with our 1st year of XG350 ownership. The car has luxury features normally reserved for much costlier cars. The 3.5L engine is very responsive, and the ride is smooth and quiet. We are hopeful that the car will remain a pleasure to drive, and troublefree. The Hyundai warantee adds to our sense of auto-contentment.
I fell in Love!!!
Hubby decided he wanted Grand Am. I drove Grand Am and decided ok since this was supposed to be his car. Driving home I went by Hyundai dealership and saw XG350 and had to stop! Drove car and called Hubby and told him I had totlly fell in love! I cannot find a feature I don't like about this car! And when I first saw the car I thought that car looks like a Jag! I love the memory seat , mirror adustments since I am always griping about Hubby re-adjusting mirrors, and he complains about me pulling seat up to far. The mirrors atomaticallly lowering when in reverse takes some getting use to but is a nice feature for visabilaty This is truely a excellent car at a great price!
Very Very Impressed
My last two cars were Buicks and I was used to a smooth riding and solid car. The XG350 is both. Although I haven't had it long the car is well put together and I haven't found any assemly defects. The acceleration is better than I expected and the ride excellent. I brought the XG350L so the car has everything you could want. All the fuctions work perfectly and all the gadgets work good like they should. I'm really pleased with the deal I got on the car and the amount of car I got for the money. People should not be afraid of the Hyundai name, since Hyundai has been building vehicles for 50 plus years.
Hyundai Review 1
I just bought a Hyundai XG350L for my daughter. Excluding "luxury" cars, I compared some domestic cars, all of the Japanese cars and a German car to the Hyundai XG350L. All were significantly more expensive, and warranted for much less time. None were better in workmanship, quietness, standard features, acceleration and braking. As for styling, that's too subjective. You have to make up your own mind. I'm well aware of what Hyundai has given us in the past, but do yourself a favor and just look at this car! Drive it if you think it merits a drive after you see it. I'm telling you, you'll be amazed. BTW: I'm on my 7th BMW, I believe I know cars!
best car ever
We bought this car in 2002 brand new off the truck with all the Korean shipping sticker still on it. To make this story short 60,000 miles drove it from Colorado to Arizona from Arizona to south Florida then from south Florida back to AZ and 6 trips from Phoenix to San Diego and back. The only repairs it ever needed were the alternator needed replaced this year and a small leak in the low pressure side of the power steering hoses. It is still running the original plugs and brakes and the dealer said the disc pads have at least 10,000 miles left on them this car was built to run at speed on the highway and the body styling is awesome. The made a mistake when they changed it in 04
Too Much Trouble
I bought this car becasue it had a good rating and it was much less expensive than a Toyota Camray or a Honda Accord and was very well equipped for the money. It has a quiet and very smooth ride at the expense of handling. I have had nothing but serious pronblems with the car including replacing the transmission twice! The tires lasted less than 35K miles and the front brakes and rotors had to be replaced at 55K miles. The rotors were warped and the dealer would not turn them on warranty. It cost $815 to have the timing belt and serpentine belt replaced which must be done at 60K miles to keep the warranty. I had to replace the battery after 2 years and 1 month!
A few returns service
Have friend with XG300 that liked car. Tried XG350L and liked car. Had a few problems with car. Tranny went out at 30,000, dealer replaced. Took a couple of weeks, did get a new Sonata for loaner. Have had some problems with check engine and air bag lights comming on for a couple of days, then go off. Always seems to happen before I can get into dealer. Service manager at dealership has been very helpfull and good to deal with.
Why pay more?
When I was in the market for a sedan I went to more than 10 seperate test drives. I found that the only other cars that had both the luxury and performance of the XG350 usually cost 20%- 30% more money. To be totally honest, the BMW was the nicest I drove, but it was not TEN THOUSAND Dollars nicer than the XG. Then add in the 100,000 mile coverage and it was actually a no-brainer. I know people who bought Hyundai's in the 90's and have heard bad things, but the XG series (introduced in 2001) has apparently learned from past mistakes. After a year and 14K miles, I would still recommend the XG350.
If they'd just fix it
It's a great car, but I have had a lot of problems with the transmission and the way it shifts. The problem is intermitent. They reprogrammed it, which helps a little, but still problems. The service advisor, Ron Johnson, told me I should use Amoco gold gas, but so far that has done nothing. I could love this car, if they'd fix it!!!!
Nothing but trouble
Car appeared to be a value but I am on 3rd transmission, front brakes and rotors went at 30K miles, battery gone at 2 years. Tires worn out at 35K. Just had 60K service! WOW! Over $1100 for timing belt and service! If you don't get the timing belt done, warranty is void! Needs to sacrifice some ride quality for handling. Sways in curves almost to the point of being dangerous.
My XG350L
Interior is Excellent. Rides like floating on a cloud. Have had in the ship twice for defects in mfg. Shorts in the wiring for A/C and sunroof
Why spend more
The XG350L is everything it is supposed to be to compete with Lexus and the other big sedans...roomy, comfortable, laden with features, powerful, torqued and good-looking. And it's at least 15g's less. It's fun to drive...not a Ferrari, but what you'd expect from a big cruising sedan. The new 3.5 litre engine is a huge improvement; the car gets out of its way and has no problem moving well past 100 mph. It's comfortable, has a great stereo, rides like a dream, handles well, has power and more. Why people are spending so much more for the same thing with a fancier name plate is beyond me.
I will never buy another Hyundai
This car has been nothing but trouble! I've had it in the shop so many times, I've lost count. Tranmission problems, air bag light, power steering leak, short in the stereo, bad alternator, had to have the back glass replaced, check engine comes on when it rains, paint is peeling off!
Car&Hyundai Corp- Major Disappointment
What we believed was a wonderful car has turned into a nightmare! It has major electrical problems - doors locking spontaneously, radio turning itself on & off, - what a challenge to get repaired. Numerous trips to dealership and countless hours on the phone to Hyundai Corp. Worst customer service ever experienced at corporate level!! Now, one year later, the problems have returned! A mere 28,000 miles on a 2004 automobile that is an absolute piece of junk!!!!! Forget the hype on the warranty. It is mere lip service!
Poor Quality XG 350L
My car has less than 4000 miles on it. The wheel baring has been replaced, I had to purchase 4 new tires, and this morning on my way to work the check engine light came on. The dealer has been no help, refuses to perform warranty work and refuses a loaner car (as was part of the selling features). This car is poor quality and the dealer offers poor service. Unfortunately, the dealer is an embarrassment to Hyundai. Give me my JEEP back!
dont buy it
I purchased my Hyundai after looking over lots of cars as it seemed the best buy for the money. I WAS SO WRONG! You DO get what you pay for and I got a good looking but cheaply made car. "Drive by wire" accelerator is horrible; bogs and lunges despite reprogram. Transmission has been replaced 4 times. Brakes warped twice and they only cover them once so second time you pay. Battery failed after 2 years and you pay for it - not warranty. Horrible vibration that they couldn't fix until I showed them the TSB to fix it. Clunking noise in front end they couldn't fix until, again, I showed them the TSB to fix. Lot's of other problems too numerous to list here. DON'T BUY THIS CAR!!!
my first car, XG350L
Looked around and test drove BMW, Lexus, Honda, and Camry. The sales people at those dealers weren't reasonable and they just wanted my wallet. Went to a Hyundai dealer, no hassel, no pressure, and great people. XG350L had more standard features compared to other brands and it was an AWESOME value! After purchasing it, I drove to a mountain... handles & responds VERY well!
Great car at a great price
I saw this car on the road and said thats the one for me. Exterior style is excelent except for the tail lights, a little more sport is needed. Interior is everything I could want in location, ergonomics, and style. Lots of pep in the engine. When test driving the day I purchased it, I requested that 3 average size people take the ride. We put on the AC to burden the engine and drove off. NO PROBLEM! The car performed like a champ. True European quality at an affordable price. Make your deal on the last day of the month, in the afternoon and take a car in stock. MSRP with extras was $27,777. I paid $22,000.
Great Buy
I have just had the car for a week and have thoroughly enjoyed driving it. Every one I show it to is extremely suprised by how it looks. Very smooth car to drive. With a price under 24K with taxes, it was a great buy. A Camry with similar equipment would be at least 5K more.
keep coming hyundai
couldnt have found a better value for money.no it doesnt match up to bmw, lexus, or other cars 30000 and up.but it holds its own with the cars itw was meant to compete with.there are always trade offs when designing cars, and the ones here are well worth it.i find no problem with build quility.the sespention could be thigter, for a more sporty ride.and i suspect to see improvement over next few
Best Car Under 22K
This is an awesome car for 22K. I compared it with a 2003 Altima 21S and Accord LX w/ leather, prices for these cars are around 23K. Most car review magazines compare the XG350 to V6 of these models, which is ridiculous cause those trims will run you over 27K. Besides more power and torque than the Accord LX and Altima 21S, the XG350 is packed with features like a $140 dollars Michelin Tires, Auto Climate Control, and ShifTronics. The styling is clean and timeless. This car rocks.
Best Value
We looked at several near-lux cars. The XG350L stood up to all of them for far less money with a better warranty. We got a very good price and a decent trade-in allowance for our old car. We also got Hyundai 2.9% financing for 48 months. It was the most pleasant buying experience and we have owned many cars over the years. The car is smooth and quiet, handles our rural roads very well and it a joy on the interstate. A very under-rated car! Car loafs along at higway speeds, about 2200 RPM at 70 mph! We got 24 MPG on first tank of gas with very spirited driving. A Lexus at 2/3 of the price!
XG350GREAT
I HAVE HAD MY XG FOR ABOUT 7-8 MONTHS AND LOVE IT MORE THAN ANY CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN AND OR OWNED.THE RIDE IS E VEN BETTER THAN MY LINCONS I HAVE HAD.I WILL STAY WITH HYUNDAI PRODUCTS FROM HERE ON OUT
XL 300
HAVE HAD CAR FOR 20,000 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS. NONE OF THS SUPPOSED NEGATIVES PURPORTED BY EDMUND'S IN THEIR REVIEWS. PREVIOUS THREE CARS WERE CAMRYS. FIRST TWO WERE GREAT-LAST IS A DOG. GLAD I CHOSE THE HYUNDAI OVER ANOTHER CAMRY!!
Great Value
I went looking at the Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, and Toyota Camry. My budget allowed for only a low end version with 4 cylinder. Before I bought, I went and drove the 03 Sonata and was quite impressed. I then realized that I could probably get a XG350L for about what I was going to pay for a low end Altima with a 4 cylinder. For the price the value was too hard to pass up. Had the car now for a week and looking forward to the next several months. I have had a guy driving VW passat, a BMW, and a Mercedes pull up beside me and try to figure out what I was driving. I wanted to hold up several thousand dollars to show them what I saved!
WOW
the car is a stunner to look at. always gets stares and the fit and finish, but the ride is not so hot and the engine should have much more horsepower. The dealers suck and they are no help AT ALL. the car is worth the money but it is not a lexus, bmw or toyota
Carl's review on the new XG350L
I like this car, and suspect that it will only improve in power and styling in the years to come. Hundai makes a highly under rated and quality mid-size automobile.
A great car!!
Without considering the "hyundai" name and without considering price this is simply a "great car. If you can get past the name and consider the price there is nothing out there that comes close to what you get! Some of the "Professional" reviews of this car are nonsence. The quality is great-the service i have received is superb-and the car performs just fine for the average driving situation. It appears some reviewers use race car mentality for evaluation. This car is, i say again, is competant and then some in everyday driving. Consider price and warranty for a bonus. Go drive one, then see if it meets your expectations.
Pleasant surprise
Recently leased a new XG 350, black with all the bells and whistles!! It is a beauty! Looks more like a luxury car than many of the true luxury cars on the road. I'm hoping the transmission will begin to change less noticably, that is the only little quirk I have with it. I can hardly believe all the extras and features that were standard! I could never have all these extras in a Altima, Accord, Passat, Camry without paying a good deal more.
True Luxury at a Great Price
I am just thrilled with my new XG350L. It is midsize, but totally luxurious. Other than a slight rattle in the moonroof when open, it came with no defects. And the quality of the materials is obvious. It has so many special features and drives so smoothly. The transmission is seamless. The seats are very comfortable (leather) and the driver's seat slides back to let you out just as in the Lincoln. All at a price well under $25,000. including a 10 year/100,000mile bumper/bumper warranty and LoJack (these are options I chose.)
