Tech and safety features at a great price!
Overall the Tucson SEL has lots of options and for the price just can't be beat if what you want is a nice infotainment center and safety features. If you want to get comparable features from other manufacturers you're going to have to pony up some more dough. What I don't like: 1. The interior door buttons and trim feel cheap. 2. There is no remote start in the key fob which leads me to my next negative. 3. Blue Link is a scam! In order to use the remote app Blue Link to start your car it costs $200 per year. That's right, from the manufacturer that is the only way to remotely start your car. After my 3 years of free blue link service are over I'll have an authorized installer put in a remote start that uses my key fob. 4. The gas mileage for the 2.4l 181hp engine isn't great. Hyundai says I should expect 22 city and 28 mpg for on the highway. What I like: 1. I love the safety features. 2. I love the android autoplay and how it is configured and controlled via the infotainment center and steering wheel. 3. I love how comfortable the 8 way lumbar power driver seat is. 4. I think the car looks pretty nice. 5. The warranty is best in class! Overall if you have a limited budget, you have to buy a vehicle that can get you the most of what you really want and compromise on the the features that aren't as important for you. Tech, safety, seat comfort, and looks were what I felt were most important to me, the compromise is I gave up a bit in interior quality and mpg. If you value the same things that I do in a new vehicle then I think this car is for you too! Update: After about 2.5 years and 12k miles I still love this little car. I've experienced no problems. I experienced one recall which was taken care of promptly by the dealer.

A Wonderful Vehicle
Please do not let the title of this review dismay you. What looks like a nice little truck is soooooo much more. The styling is great, the height is great, the ride is smooth, THE CABIN IS VERY QUIET!!!! We hit the highway immediately and came alone side many 18 wheelers and the sound disturbance is minimal at best. The double takes are a lot of fun to see. We have the SEL FWD and could not be more pleased and excited. At this trim you have dual climate control, tinted windows, an 8 inch touch screen, 18 inch alloy wheels, lane assist, front AND rear collision monitoring STANDARD!!!! Hyundai is light years away from the 1990's. This is one fine automobile. You cannot beat the price for the value I guarantee it.

Amazing SUV and Great Value
After having a Toyota Highlander for 17 years, I purchased a Hyundai Sonata Limited, which I absolutely loved. I owned it for four years, but due to several spinal fusion surgeries it was getting difficult for me to get in and out of the car, and I also missed the convenience of a SUV. I did my due diligence and read all the reviews, test drove everything from the BMW X1, to the Mazda CX 5, to the Rav 4, to the Infiniti QX 30, but nothing could touch the value and quality of what I got in the Tucson Night Edition. I did not particularly want leather again, but did want features that come with higher end levels, like lumbar support, heated and power seats, power panoramic sunroof, upgraded Infinty stereo, and much more. The Night Edition gave me all those features and more. It handles like a dream, so much more spirited than my car. I love the lane departure feature that keeps you from drifting into the next lane of traffic. The ride is super quiet, the cabin is made of quality materials, and the outside looks great. Honestly you could put a Mercedes badge on it and not know the difference. Most of all, I appreciated all the rebates I received as a loyal Hyundai owner. I am leasing this model, and I know I will be getting another one when this term is over. I definitely urge you to consider this great little package of dynamite! It packs a great punch for a little bit of cash!

Great value for the money!
This is actually my wife’s car, but I have been behind the wheel a lot while taking road trips. She wasn’t looking for a ton of features, just wanted wanted a comfortable suv with room and decent fuel economy. She also wanted Android Auto, which she uses for Google maps. The vehicle has not disappointed! Her drive to work is 50/50 highway and city....averages 26 mpg on those trips...not bad! I do most of the highway driving when we go out of town....usually gets around 31 mpg on those trips. It rides nice, relatively quiet inside and the steering is weighted just right. The 2.0 engine in base model won’t set your heart on fire, but it does a better job than I expected.....has enough power for most people’s needs. If regularly carry 4 passengers and haul a lot of stuff in cargo area, move to one of the upper trim lines with the 2.5 engine.

Hyundai Tucson is a surprise
Impressed me as to how well it drives and the feeling of a solid car with excellent handling. I was considering Mercedes SUV C300 and Jaguar Fpace both of which look outstanding as well as the Mazda CX5. I can't say that the others are noticeably better handling than the Tucson. Excellent value. I have only had the car for 3 weeks.

Tucson Sport (2.4 Engine)
Six month since I bought it, perfect, nice looking, a lot of equipment , reasonable storage. Mileage is not super economic, but the price and rebates were excellent. I had a Sorento 2012 with same engine 2.4, 93000 miles and seven years, only replaced front seat heater and opening remote control, breaks front and back once. I like better the Tucson design than the Kia Sportage, both share a lot of the components. Somebody may be concern with the engine failure from 2011 to 2014, the problem was a production process, not a design flaw, they fixed, low % of engine had the problem. The 10 years 100,000 miles come handy. Tucson is great to drive, quiet ride, nice Apple Car features.

Examine your available competing vehicle options!
Honda CRV must select LX trim to get 2.4. Which leaves you w/o all driver assist (front collision avoidance, lane-departure, rear-cross traffic ect.) Toyota Rav-4, forget any advance previous safety features, of which gets you no significant insurance savings. I had to select the Sport model which was last years 2018 Value Edition, to get the same features, but upgraded from 1.6 Turbo (discontinued for 2019 model year) to 2.4 non-turbo (trust me, loosing turbo to naturally aspirated saves on vehicle lifetime useage.) Fuel economy!!!! Well, do you wish to quibble about a few MPG when you are in the 30 MPG range. I test drove all comparable, Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, nice but, CVT not as seamless as expected, and now issues arising with long-term (100,000+ mi.) use. Toyota uses comparable auto-trans as the Tucson, but paying for Toyota name, and losing all tech features not my style. Just go test drive a Tucson, and any comparable model of your choice. I'm sure you will find, as I did, fit and finish, tech, and driver comfort features found on the Tucson as standard equipment puts this vehicle ahead of the competition.
Good basic vehicle, engine issues, some cosmetic
We have two Tahoes, otherwise would have gone with the Sante Fe. This is a good, basic small SUV. The finish is just above average. What is disturbing is engine performance. That had stall/fire issues, did a recall and installed a computer chip to keep the engine from knocking. Well, it does not knock, but it does not perform consistently either. Sometimes you hit the gas pedal and it just hangs out. Obviously the chip and the engine are not in sync. I did go into the dealer, and they could not find anything, or did not want to find anything. Also, a slight coolant drop over time, they could find nothing with that. Otherwise, it appears reliable to start and drive, however getting another is not decided yet. Also, exterior trim could be better. Headlamp covers failed and got pitted while the rest of the car was good, so obviously poor plastic. The paint and rubber trim are starting to fail with 33K miles, regular cleaning and waxing. I feel the fees for blue link and remote start are not justified. In the last 10 starts, it would not connect 6 of the times. So, in this current time cycle, I did not renew. A theoretically nice feature, but the car either warms up or cools down fairly quickly within the first mile of driving. If it worked rapidly and all the time, it might have been worth it. However, given the issues noted versus cost. No thanks.

Swiss Arm Knife
Hyundai makes a quality SUV and they bring to market an indisputable value proposition by offering accessories and services other OEMs do not. It is impossible to find a sub 30k SUV that includes triple beam LED’s, wireless phone charger, 360 degree camera, AWD and other standard features. But this value comes at a cost. Namely sub par customer support at the National level. With Hyundai you get a quality vehicle but when issues persists the best I can say is good luck. Long past my on-going issue, I can say the Vehicle is reliable, comfortable, competent and basically enjoyable to drive. The seats could be a little more comfortable and the vehicle a bit peppier, but overall I’m pleased with it and would recommend.

stops accelerating
I bought 2019 hyundai tuscon about 2 m0nths ago, everything is great about the suv except for ONE THING. I was driving to N.H to my vacation, i had driven about 130 miles when a message came on the screen saying" time to take a break and have a cup of coffee" about 3 minutes later same message came on the screen, i ignored the message and kept driving, thinking nothing of it, about 2 minutes later, the suv STOPPED accelerating, iwas going about 70 mph and thank G-D was in the right lane so i could pull over, if not would have been a very serious accident. I then got out my ABBRIDGED manual to find an eplanation for this, it was NOT even metioned, i then took out my regular 200 page manual and after 30 minutes found the section explaining this, it fell under DAW drivers alert warning and explained how to DEACTIVATE this FEATURE which i did and it only took 2 pushes of 2 different buttons. I did report this to hyundai corp. HQ and they "why didnt you stop and take a break", they explained it was a FEATURE to "prevent you from falling a sleep". Are you kidding me? The salesman never mentioned this FEATURE. I suggested they put a 'Warning" somewhere on the dashboard or the first page pf the abridged manual. and they just poo pood it.
Easy to drive but some drawbacks.
This SUV has decent road noise, especially on the highway. We opted for the Tucson SEL for the larger engine, with the SE the smaller engine meant a delay when attempting to accelerate that was hard to ignore. Good size and feels roomy within, nice to drive with good but not fantastic radio and sound quality.

Had a 2011 Acura rdx
I had a 2011 Acura rd turbo that was one helluva fast and reliable car. But it was getting long on miles and the electronic package was very old and pretty much useless compared to today's autos. I just bought my wife a 2013 Tucson limited with the fancy sun roof and I was really impressed with this car with 30k, and the infotainment package was light years ahead of my Acura. I was impressed enough to go look at a 2019 limited, and I was so impressed I traded the rdx for this limited and I am very happy. Well I've had this car for 6 months now and I only have 3400 miles on it all I can say, the car is a very good car, and I'm very happy with it. I had my first oil change a Hyundai dealer in Lakeland Fl. and that was not a good experience, but the tucson so far has been fantastic.

From A Captiva to Tucson
We traded a 2014 Captiva for our Tucson. The Tucson performs head and shoulders above the Chevy. Better pick up roomier interior and better technology. We were told by the Chevy dealer while having service done to watch the oil level in the Chevy due to the under-sized engine ,they have had problems with the small 4 cylinder. We are pleased with the exceptional mileage and comfort of the Tucson. The features on the value package far exceed our Chevy. The sound system is nice ,and the easy to operate Bluetooth features are a bonus. We previously owned a Santa Fe and felt it was a little large for our needs and nothing on the market we found in out price range compares to our new Tucson ,and the dealership’s power train warranty sealed the deal, we are loving the mileage, and ease of highway driving . In our travels we have been in no situation that we felt we were unsafe or unable to get out of. Pick up on the entrance ramps is excellent. Not going back to a GM product. We just received a notice to make sure we keep our oil change records in our Tucson because of a problem they have with the engine, but overall still ok with the car. The recall for the possibility of your Hyundai catching fire was concerning and the fact that Hyundai and Kia are being stolen frequently because of the ease of punching out the ignition is very concerning. I question whether or not our next vehicle will be a Hyundai or not because of the concern that our insurance rate will be higher because of the theft issue. Otherwise it had been a reliable vehicle, much more so than the Chevrolet.

'Tis Easy to Like
After my last two vehicles (Mazda CX5 & Ford Fusion Hybrid) both developed A/C problems right after the 3-year warranty period, I decided to give Hyundai another look. Once we experienced the full range of front/rear collision warnings, lane keeping/blind spot warnings, it became a no-brainer. Most other car manufacturers charge extra for these safety features, Hyundai incorporates them into base models. We bought a Value trim for the power-seat, the comfort, and the precise handling. Cornering is with confidence. The only down side is the weak engine. But I was pleasantly surprised by the high MPG. Taking it out on the highway yielded me 35 MPG! I am just not convinced that this is the true MPG. At any rate, the Tucson is well-built and solid all around. My past experience with at least 4 of our Hondas, all developed nasty windshield cracks and parking lot dings. In my opinion, the high MPG on these Japanese cars are achieved by using thin windshield/glass windows and thin sheet metals - weaker A/C components notwithstanding. It is clear that Hyundai incorporates heavier windshields and sheet metals and other components which may have lowered the MPG. But with longer warranty, I can at least have the peace of mind that I won't have to shell out big bucks for major repairs any time soon. That, IMHO, is a big win!
my favorite car so far
love love this car. love the panoramic roof it lets so much light into the car. the bluelink is great since i don't have a garage i love starting my car from my phone. nice and toasty windows defrosted seat warm and steering wheel also nice and warm.

Im a big fan of the tucson. My previous one did me well for 13 years. I just bought the 2019 and after only 2 months the ac stopped working and the system said it was off. Had to leave my car for a week at the dealership so they could order a part. Thats crazy. That a brand new car would have that issue. Really disappointed.

Cons & pros
I love my 2019 Hyundai Tucson, value package. The car itself is perfect, seating, technology, exterior design. . However I’m not sure if it’s just my car but, I’m having a difficult time going over 65 mph it feels like it gets stuck idk if it’s because it’s brand new? 1,500 miles on it I’ve put in one month. . And the engine is L O U D . . :/ only two things I can’t stand. . Might take it in to the dealer to get it checked out. Other than those two the things in in love with it !

Love my Night edition Tuscon!
This car is beautiful and everything I was looking for in a Tuscon. I love the factory performance matte black BBS rims on it's dark grey coloring, panoramic sunroof, heated seats and all the safety features that have spared me from sudden breaking collisions. My only gripe about this car is that for the night edition (which is right in-between the sport and ultimate), as sporty and sleek as it looks, is equipped with a 2.4L. It's fine, really, I'm a mom and I'm not trying to win any drag races (although in my head I pretend to be a race car driver), it's just a little underpowered, especially going up hills. Gas mileage could definitely be better for such a subcompact SUV. Overall, I do love this car. It's very quiet in cabin, comfortable seats. I really appreciate the simplicity of the cabin with all these newer cars becoming too complicated nowadays. Last but not least, you cannot go wrong with Hyundai's warranty and the fact that they have not switched to CVT like many others have, which beats all the competition by a long shot. Love my Tuscon!

Best Mid Sized Suv
Never owned a SUV before the Tucson, Have owned Hyundai's since 2010, I have driven some of the other models out there and did not like the ride or cabin noise, The Tucson is very quiet you don't get a lot of engine noise and the ride is smooth not choppy like some of the other models out there, If you are looking at a SUV the Hyundai line up is great you get a lot of bang for the buck !

no go
I have 2019 hyundai tuscon. The car is somewhat stylish and has all the bells and whistles but the collision alert is weak and barely works. But the biggest and worst complaint I have is that has all the power of a dead horse. It's slow to accelerate and even when I push the gas pedal to the floor, it revs up and barely makes it to 40 until I can actually pick up some speed. The 4 cylinder does not seem to be able to weight of the car. Even in sports mode, it's slow. The gas mileage is terrible and even at short distances the gas tank needs to be filled. The reviews from Car and Drive, Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, stated the same problems. I would not buy one again.

Big roomy SUV,many electronics for safety. Some draw backs for me after Mazda CX-3 are: slow Acceleration, not so good MPG.Generally very good for old and retired persons.

Superb service
Take the time to familiarize yourself with all the options; Blue tooth, lane indicators, navigation etc. Not fast but smooth ride. Decent gas mileage.
Great Ride!
This vehicle has many extra features that help you in driving. Lane assistance, blind spot, etc. We need this in this day and age when so many people are doing other things in their car besides driving.

Great Car
This is a great car. Easily gets 30+mpg, handles very well and is very comfortable. Only reason I might trade it is because the current "green movement" is skewing the market so badly away from fossil fuels and I would like to have the option to use both electric and gasoline along with my independent home solar power supply. Then I don't care which way things go.<VBG>

Loves gas stations
I love my new 2019 Tucson.....BUT gas mileage is TERRIBLE. Drove it down to Florida which is all highway and the best I got was 30mpg. The Honda I traded in for the very same trip gave me 36mpg. If I wouldn't lose so much I would trade the car in

Awesome car. It gets used to gas stations
Just took a trip down to Florida from Ohio. I am soooooo disappointed in the gas mileage. I started out with 950 miles and now have 2100 due to the trip. I never stopped so many times coming down here in my life. Just yesterday alone, we took a 200 mile round trip, started out with a full tank and got back just over a half tank of gas. Terrible and so disappointing. Other than that I love the car. The only think I dont like about the car is my own fault. I got the Value (stupid name for it) line and it has less than the other models. Thats fine but I hate the full black front "grill".The other models have the horizontal silver lines.

It's just ok.
The car is very basic. Oddly, there is no place on the hatch door to tie a rope. I'm trying to move a piece of furniture that is just a bit too long for the car. In my old car, I padded the furniture and tied a rope to keep the hatch door almost closed and to keep it from moving. The Tucson has no handle or any place to thread a rope to keep the door from flopping around. I called my dealer and their response was "we don't know, keep looking". This is a small issue but pointless deficiency. Also, the car does not have a compass. I live in an area where GPS is often lost. I will not buy a Hyundai again. It's not a customer friendly car. There is no pick up, but it runs.

Great SUV
Disappointing Rental
Drove one for a week on the island of Oahu on all kinds of roads. Found it to be underpowered, with a transmission that could not decide between gears, and thus would downshift and then upshift with small pressure on the accelerator. Lots of engine noise and anemic pickup. Cheap interior and dated controls. Not much fun to drive. Would avoid in future rentals. I normally drive a BMW X-1, and the difference in price would not be worth it.

I own a 2019 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate and have approximately 20,188 on my odometer. This little SUV gets great gas mileage I've had 1 Problem with my AC compressor which it froze but was covered under warranty. Best warranty without paying anything extra 100,000 Miles powertrain. Great SUV for the money!
My wife and I really enjoy our 2019 Tucson SE AWD. We've lived all over the US and driven this vehicle in snow throughout the Mid-West and New England. Where we currently live in New England, everyone owns a Subaru because of their snow/mud capabilities. I owned two Subarus before our Tucson and have never regretted our Tucson purchase. In fact, our Tucson has handled the snow and mud exceptionally well -- without issue. The warranty of Hyundai is great, too, which gives us peace of mind. Overall, we are extremely pleased and will continue to point folks to the Tucson. You can't go wrong!

Awesome car
I have had all kinds of cars. From sporty to my current suv. This car exceeds all expectations. Well most. It could be better with a faster pickup and better gas mileage. But don't get me wrong, its surely not bad. It has plenty room both front and back for passengers and the storage at the rear. The one thing I wish it had was auto closing the rear hatch. Its just an awesome car

Great car could get better gas milege.
I get about 27 mpg on average with a front wheel drive. My friend that has a honda crv all wheel drive gets over 30 mpg. My older elantra had roof rack mounts the Tuscon SE doesn't. Id did find a Yakama rack that fit for 620. It seem much larger than my Elantra, which I wanted and gets about the same mpg. All and all it is a good car with a good warranty.
So far so good
It’s going to be 3 years of driving my 2019 Tucson. Great little car to be zooming around town and more. It’s so nimble. Sometimes I feel like I could just pick it up myself and move it, hehe. My mpg is 25 around town and about 30 hwy. I use Sport mode a lot except when dry which gives me a better acceleration. I take it to the dealership I bought it from for all my oil changes, etc., this way I know the car was serviced right. I live in a town where all you see are Hyundais and Kias, so it seems that majority of people like these cars. The engine recall is the only thing I’m worried about but so far so good. Knock on wood I have not had any problems and the car performed well.

Gas tank
Plastic gas tank exposed under the car without any protection shield is a no no for me, my wife was driving on I75 no problem, until some one behind her noticed her, her car was licking gas, found out something punched two holes in the bottom of the gas tank, now spend $500 to towed the car home+ the cost to replace the tank, could it be worse (🔥) who knows if there wasn't no one behind her to noticed her thank God, I hope they fix that issue.
A small, smooth ride
I test drove a 2019 Tucson which was small to my surprise. It looked larger in photos. The ride was smooth; the suspension great, hardly feeling any bumps. The acceleration was acceptable but the interior was no larger than a Corolla. I declined on the purchase.
Very comfortable
Not enough acceleration from start
