stops accelerating
I bought 2019 hyundai tuscon about 2 m0nths ago, everything is great about the suv except for ONE THING. I was driving to N.H to my vacation, i had driven about 130 miles when a message came on the screen saying" time to take a break and have a cup of coffee" about 3 minutes later same message came on the screen, i ignored the message and kept driving, thinking nothing of it, about 2 minutes later, the suv STOPPED accelerating, iwas going about 70 mph and thank G-D was in the right lane so i could pull over, if not would have been a very serious accident. I then got out my ABBRIDGED manual to find an eplanation for this, it was NOT even metioned, i then took out my regular 200 page manual and after 30 minutes found the section explaining this, it fell under DAW drivers alert warning and explained how to DEACTIVATE this FEATURE which i did and it only took 2 pushes of 2 different buttons. I did report this to hyundai corp. HQ and they "why didnt you stop and take a break", they explained it was a FEATURE to "prevent you from falling a sleep". Are you kidding me? The salesman never mentioned this FEATURE. I suggested they put a 'Warning" somewhere on the dashboard or the first page pf the abridged manual. and they just poo pood it.
Easy to drive but some drawbacks.
This SUV has decent road noise, especially on the highway. We opted for the Tucson SEL for the larger engine, with the SE the smaller engine meant a delay when attempting to accelerate that was hard to ignore. Good size and feels roomy within, nice to drive with good but not fantastic radio and sound quality.

Had a 2011 Acura rdx
I had a 2011 Acura rd turbo that was one helluva fast and reliable car. But it was getting long on miles and the electronic package was very old and pretty much useless compared to today's autos. I just bought my wife a 2013 Tucson limited with the fancy sun roof and I was really impressed with this car with 30k, and the infotainment package was light years ahead of my Acura. I was impressed enough to go look at a 2019 limited, and I was so impressed I traded the rdx for this limited and I am very happy. Well I've had this car for 6 months now and I only have 3400 miles on it all I can say, the car is a very good car, and I'm very happy with it. I had my first oil change a Hyundai dealer in Lakeland Fl. and that was not a good experience, but the tucson so far has been fantastic.

Rear opening
Opening rear back does not stop when you open door.this is a bad feature if some steps under door you can get hurt.closing comes down hard.if a small person gets under door it causes bad damage .should have sensors to stop

From A Captiva to Tucson
We traded a 2014 Captiva for our Tucson. The Tucson performs head and shoulders above the Chevy. Better pick up roomier interior and better technology. We were told by the Chevy dealer while having service done to watch the oil level in the Chevy due to the under-sized engine ,they have had problems with the small 4 cylinder. We are pleased with the exceptional mileage and comfort of the Tucson. The features on the value package far exceed our Chevy. The sound system is nice ,and the easy to operate Bluetooth features are a bonus. We previously owned a Santa Fe and felt it was a little large for our needs and nothing on the market we found in out price range compares to our new Tucson ,and the dealership’s power train warranty sealed the deal, we are loving the mileage, and ease of highway driving . In our travels we have been in no situation that we felt we were unsafe or unable to get out of. Pick up on the entrance ramps is excellent. Not going back to a GM product. We just received a notice to make sure we keep our oil change records in our Tucson because of a problem they have with the engine, but overall still ok with the car. The recall for the possibility of your Hyundai catching fire was concerning and the fact that Hyundai and Kia are being stolen frequently because of the ease of punching out the ignition is very concerning. I question whether or not our next vehicle will be a Hyundai or not because of the concern that our insurance rate will be higher because of the theft issue. Otherwise it had been a reliable vehicle, much more so than the Chevrolet.

'Tis Easy to Like
After my last two vehicles (Mazda CX5 & Ford Fusion Hybrid) both developed A/C problems right after the 3-year warranty period, I decided to give Hyundai another look. Once we experienced the full range of front/rear collision warnings, lane keeping/blind spot warnings, it became a no-brainer. Most other car manufacturers charge extra for these safety features, Hyundai incorporates them into base models. We bought a Value trim for the power-seat, the comfort, and the precise handling. Cornering is with confidence. The only down side is the weak engine. But I was pleasantly surprised by the high MPG. Taking it out on the highway yielded me 35 MPG! I am just not convinced that this is the true MPG. At any rate, the Tucson is well-built and solid all around. My past experience with at least 4 of our Hondas, all developed nasty windshield cracks and parking lot dings. In my opinion, the high MPG on these Japanese cars are achieved by using thin windshield/glass windows and thin sheet metals - weaker A/C components notwithstanding. It is clear that Hyundai incorporates heavier windshields and sheet metals and other components which may have lowered the MPG. But with longer warranty, I can at least have the peace of mind that I won't have to shell out big bucks for major repairs any time soon. That, IMHO, is a big win!

2 months old and having problems
Im a big fan of the tucson. My previous one did me well for 13 years. I just bought the 2019 and after only 2 months the ac stopped working and the system said it was off. Had to leave my car for a week at the dealership so they could order a part. Thats crazy. That a brand new car would have that issue. Really disappointed.

Cons & pros
I love my 2019 Hyundai Tucson, value package. The car itself is perfect, seating, technology, exterior design. . However I’m not sure if it’s just my car but, I’m having a difficult time going over 65 mph it feels like it gets stuck idk if it’s because it’s brand new? 1,500 miles on it I’ve put in one month. . And the engine is L O U D . . :/ only two things I can’t stand. . Might take it in to the dealer to get it checked out. Other than those two the things in in love with it !
