Used 2013 Hyundai Sonata Consumer Reviews
2013 Sonata burning oil
I loved my 2002 Elantra. I needed a larger vehicle so I bought a brand new 2013 Sonata. My Sonata started burning oil around 36,500 miles. I have been going back a fourth to the dealership doing oil consumption tests. After 3 tests, it has burned up 4.5 quarts in about 2,000 miles. I still can't get anyone to fix the problem. Instead, the dealership says I need to do 1,000 more miles of oil consumption tests and corporate says I need to do 3,000 more miles of oil consumption tests. The warranty sounds great but good luck with getting them to fix anything that is covered.
Good Car !
I drive this car for 2 years now, engine broke down after 63000 miles but Hyundai replaced the engine for free because of the recall, unfortunately I didn't had the car for 3 weeks and Hyundai didn't give me a rental car and were ignoring me when I called them up, very upset about that, but now everything works perfect.

I hated to trade it in
This was my first Hyundai and I was very impressed. The only reason I sold it was because I needed a truck. 3 years of flawless performance. No squeaks, rattles or disappointments at all. The only time it saw the dealership was for oil changes. I'd buy another Hyundai in the future.

Hollow Claims! Best Warranty?
If you are a new car buyer and plan to own car for 10 yrs maybe but beware if you but pre-owned the warranty isn't worth the paper it's writtem on, trust me I have a 3 yr old pre owned Sonata! Warranty aside, I have never owned a car that has had as many problems as my Sonata! Hardly 3 years on the list of failures are a yard long! Worst car I've owned! There is a reason they market their cars on their so called warranty, it's because so much IS going to go wrong with the car! The list: air bag! (seriously this component is never used and yet it fails? How does a component that is never used become defective?), a/c: every part you could think of!, actuator, power seats. I've had at least 6 problems that were covered under warranty, yet the hazzle, it's not as if Hyundai will give you a loner!

Awesome Car
Update on March 19, 2020: This car has been performing great for me. I have not had to take it for any major repairs. It's been faithful. I've owned this car since May 2015 and overall I love it. My wife owns a 2012 Toyota Camry and I get equivalent mpg on both cars. The only thing I have reservations on the Sonata is that when I play music through Bluetooth it does not show the metadata on the LCD screen, just the name of the phone while my wife's camry does. Otherwise I love this car. Addendum: It's been over a year since I got this car and I'm still loving it. I changed the tires and this made the ride a lot quieter. Addendum (March 2017): I still love the car. Recently added remote start in winter. Since I like seeing the metadata of the songs I'm playing from my phone to car's bluetooth and this car does not display metadata I leave my phone screen on so I can see the track playing. Just a minor inconvenience. Addendum (March 2018): I still own the car and have not had any issues with it.
