We bought the 2003 Sonata LX w/ the "homelink" feature. The "homelink" is a very nice feature. It lets you open your garage door by pressing one of three button on the rear view mirror. It can operate three different doors as well. It comes with the automatic dimmer feature, so at night the mirror cuts down on the glare from the car behind you. Very impresed with the warranty. Probably the biggest selling point of the car. DEFINATELY go for the V-6 over the V-4.(standard the LX)

I have the 2003 LX w/ABS & TC. I am completely satisfied with the vehicle except for the gas mileage (18 MPG, 60-40 city/highway). But that should improve over time. I enjoyed my 2001 Sonata GLS Leather, too, until it was hit from behind while stopped by a car going 55 MPH and totaled (none of the four of us inside were injured). I have gotten nothing but compliments, including from the techs who installed by alarm system.

This is a very well built car for the money. This vehicle has a very smooth and comfortable ride and an excellent braking system with a 6 cylinder engine. The average mileage recieved is 28 miles in the city and 33 on the highway. The interior came loaded with all the extras including electric side mirrors and power windows. The rear seats fold down for extra cargo space when needed. The Sonata also comes with an am/fm cd player and 6 surround sound speakers.Have owned this car since March of 2002 and have not experienced any problems.Am happy with my purchase of this car.

I bought this car for my wife and we both love it. After 2 years and 30k miles it still runs terrific and has never had a single problem. This is a well built and very reliable car. It's unfortunate the resale value doesn't reflect the quality but is good deal if you're looking for a used Sonata.

I've owned a Silver 2003 Sonata LX (with ABS/Trac, Moonroof) for about 4 months with not a single problem. So far the car is very dependable & with the 5-years/60K bumper-to-bumper warranty, I'm not much worried either. The looks of Sonata with the extraordinary warranty were the key factors for me to buy this car. The exterior styling of Sonata is stunning. Sonata's styling is the hybrid of Mercedes C-class and Jaguar. I personally think that Sonata is the most appealing car in mid-size car category. I'm getting around 20-22 mpg in mix driving condition, which I think is very reasonable.

I Like The Car. I Like The Features. However its not dependable. changed alternator, cv shafts. Oh. Did i mention the whole engine. ?? Yea. follow maintenance intervals for timing belts. they tend to break and kill your engine. My car is nice. wish it was a little better on fuel, a little more dependable, and it came with more features. Then Again I only have the base. My car is going on 7 years old and it is still a head turner. I will drive it until i graduate college. But I doubt I'd Buy another one. 154,000 miles on body. 7,000 on engine. still going strong. HOPE IT LASTS!! Thanks.

I have not had my car for very long, but it is definately a great car for the money. I only keep cars for as long as the warranty, so hopefully with a great 5 year 60000 warranty I will keep this car for a while. A bit disappointed in the gas mileage it gets. Everyone says it looks like a Jaguar. At least it does not cost like one.

I reside in WV but had to travel to Ohio to get a good price. Limited Hyundai dealers in WV means no competition=poor bargaining power=higher price to consumer. Classy design looks elegant. Get the moonroof, it's worth it. I paid $16,100 & took the special financing & feel I got a good deal. Buy at end of month & you will get a better deal due to dealers making their quotas. I just got back from Wilmington, NC and the car ran flawlessly. The warranty is incomparable. Buy this car & you will be in love with it.

Bought this car new in late 2003. The only issue has been a failed rear window defroster. Hyundai installed a new rear window and everything has been fine since. I replaced the awful Michelin MXV4 tires with Kumho Solus KH16s which are light years better under all conditions. It still has the factory battery!

Great car for the money. I bought this 03 Sonata (6cyl AT) new in 07-03. I now have 30k miles on it. It looks as good as an Accord or Camry but costs about 8k dollars less. My car has had NO Problems. I do regular oil changes and tire rotations and thats all I have needed to do. The car has adequate power and when you need it too it will rev up nicely. The ride is great and whenever I haul passengers around they always ask me (after 5-10 min. in the car) "What kind of car is this?" The back seat will hold two full size adults comfortably. The trunk is huge. Mileage is average for a midsize car with a 6cyl.Overall a great value.

I had my Sonata for only four weeks before I was rear ended in a 5 car accident. My airbags did not deploy and the chasis folded and buckled near the moonroof. I walked away with only serious wiplash and a scrape on the knee. The car did exactly what it was suppose to during the impact. I am curious though why the air bag did not deploy.

GREAT DRIVING CAR AROUND TOWN AND ON THE ROAD. RECENTLY COMPLETED 2000 MILE ROAD TRIP WITH THREE OTHER ADULTS. AVERAGE 32 MPG USING CRUISE CONTROL AT AVE SPEED 62 MPH. ALMOST ALWAYS USE THE SELECT SHIFT SIDE. FIND THAT IT INHANCES PERFORMANCE OF 4 CYCLINDER ESPECIALLY UP HILL GRADES. DEALERSHIP (NORM REEVES-TEMECULA) HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING. NO HASSLE PURCHASE, ONLY ONE MINOR PROBLEM. ONE WIPER BLADE MADE NOISE WHILE IN OPERATION. THEY REPLACED BLADE AND NOISE WENT AWAY. VERY ROOMY FOR FOUR FULL SIZE ADULTS. LOTS OF HEADROOM. VERY COMFORTABLE. VERY COMPETITIVE PRICING. GREAT WARRANTY..

Purchased this vehicle in June of 2003 after realizing that my 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan which had 260,000 miles was ready to be turned in. The all over design is inspired by Jaguar. The interior is quite spacious and well appointed for a car of this price. The price and warranty can't be beat, even if it is a Hyundai. I have been on several long trips from Jersey to Boston and back. Never felt any degree of discomfort in the driver's seat. After nearly three months the car has 9000 miles and sounds perfect, and runs perfect. Gas is 23/27. I am very impressed and happy with my purchase. Will probably keep buying Hyundais...

Purchased a new 2003 Sonata LX V6 in Dec 2002. Have put 3,000 miles on it and it runs great. I agree with others, this cars is not as polished as a Toyota or Honda. We useally buy larger America cars. The Sonata matches them in ride but has less power. The trunk space looked good when we bought the car. But on our first trip found the rear speakers and other stuff really cut into the useable trunk space. Overall, we are very happy with the car and feel it is a great value.

I COMMUTE ABOUT 2 HOURS A DAY, BACK AND FORTH TO WORK, AND I ACTUALY ENJOY TAKING THE DRIVE INTO WORK, AND BACK HOME AGAIN. MY WIFE ALSO DRIVES IT, ALONG WITH MY TWO CHILDREN. IM A BIT OF A WORRY WART, BUT IM NEVER WORRIED ABOUT THEM BREAKING DOWN IN SOME DANGEROUS OR ISOLATED AREA. IF THEY WERE TO BREAK DOWN, I CAN RELY ON THE FREE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM THEY OFFER AT HYUNDAI. ITS A NICE FEELING, NOT HAVING TO WORRY ANYMORE.

I have roughly 7800 miles on my Sonata and it's been a great car from day 1. I do 95% city driving and I get a consistent 20MPG. The only problem I've encountered was about 80 miles ago the engine light came on while I was driving. The dealer fixed the problem with no charge and no hassles. Power wise, its no drag racer but has been more than adequate for my needs. Handling has been good but there is body roll in sharp turns. The ride is smooth, quiet and comfortable. My 9 year old daughter loves the fold-down center console in the back seat. The build quality is excellent. It really is a tight and solid car.

Purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago after waiting 6 mos. before making a final purchase. Researched the Honda's and Toyota's and ONLY the Sonata grabbed me with it's stylish exterior. I've always believed in anything mechanical that it must looks as good as it works...... and while the Honda and Toyota have great work records they don't look good to me. With the 10 year warranty I am sure that the Sonata will still look good if it ever needs fixed. Whereas the others will still look bad even if they last forever.

The car has been great and Hyundai supports the warranty. Had a transmission fail at 92,000, but I am sure it was due to improper servicing at 65K. Hyundai replaced with rebuilt Trans only asking if I changed fluid. Previous post dissing Sonata due to failed timing light and no engine light to warn is owner's fault. No car will give a light for this and they all will fail. Suppose to replace at 65,000, mine lasted until 90K and then I had it replaced. Still running strong at 97K. Comfortable and roomy. Back seat tight with carseats, but all cars of this size are. Would buy again and recommend. Hope to get another 50K and then buy a new one.

I have a little spot on my trunk where there is rust. But thats covered in the warrenty so I don't have to worry about that. I checked out the Camrey and Altima and the Hyundai had more this standard for less money.

After we test driving the Sonata, my wife wanted to buy this car instead of Accord, Carmy, and Passat. After I a few days research, most information I got from Ednunds and NSM auto sites, I made up my mind to buy this car. We paid $18,300 for this 2003 LX (at) with sunroof plus tax

This particular car has great features, good road handling, especially on the highway and around turns. The Sonata definitely has class and style complemented with luxury.
