I previously owned a 2013 Sonata Base model and just purchased a used 2013 Sonata Hybrid after the first Sonata was stolen. The Sonata Hybrid is a clear step up from the base model and for a used car the quality of the Sonata build comes through. There isn't an electronic component in the car that doesn't work like it is new. The hybrid technology is new to me. I am very impressed with what Hyundai has built. While I have driven a Prius before this Sonata Hybrid just feels some much better (just a solid car with no gimicks). While there are always a few maintenance items and my experience with the people that sell parts and service and the complexity of fixing problems makes this a do it youself kinda car where things just work.

Purchased car in 2016. 2013 hybrid with 32K. Averaged 38 MPG ( 550 miles each tank ) for first 8000 miles . Checked every tank for this car. I have always checked every tank on all my cars. Suddenly I began to get 28 MPG ( 420 miles per tank ). I have taken to dealer and spent $ 330 with no improvement with mileage. The dealer has no explanation for decrease in mileage. I cannot recommend this vehicle. I will sell soon and invest in a better vehicle. Very disappointed.

There a recall on the engine, but it has great gas mileage. The door panel has the cup holder that hits on my leg..very annoying.

Title: Extremely Disappointed – Hyundai Refused to Honor Repurchase Offer & Ignored Lemon Law I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with Hyundai Motor Corporation. I purchased a used 2012 Hyundai Sonata in 2017, and almost immediately, I started experiencing serious engine issues. My car would stall in the middle of the freeway, losing power completely, putting my life and my child’s life in danger. I took it in for multiple repairs, yet the problem was never fixed. Eventually, the car became completely undriveable, forcing me to turn it in at the dealership and take on the burden of purchasing another vehicle—something I was financially unprepared for. In December 2021, Hyundai offered to repurchase my vehicle, acknowledging the issues I had faced. At the time, I was missing some paperwork, but they never gave me a deadline or expiration date for submission. I was also going through an extremely difficult period in my life, escaping an abusive relationship, which delayed my ability to complete the process. Now that I have all the documents ready and have reached back out, Hyundai refuses to honor their offer, claiming I "ran out of time"—even though no deadline was ever mentioned in the original offer. To make matters worse, I recently found out that my car actually qualified under Lemon Law, meaning Hyundai was likely legally obligated to repurchase it, but they never informed me of this. Under Lemon Law, I have four years from the date I discovered my car qualified as a lemon to take legal action, which means I am still well within my rights to pursue this case. Hyundai's attempt to deny my claim and ignore their legal responsibilities is completely unacceptable. This experience has been absolutely horrible. Not only did Hyundai fail to fix my car, but they also strung me along with a repurchase offer only to revoke it with no valid reason. I am now stuck with the financial burden of another car payment that should never have been necessary in the first place. Hyundai needs to take responsibility for their defective vehicles and stand by the offers they make to their customers. I will be exploring legal options to fight this, but I strongly urge others to think twice before trusting Hyundai with their business. This is NOT how a company should treat its customers!

Car pulls to the left and Rough change from gas to hybrid

I bought a 2012 Sonata hybrid 3 months ago. I loved the car as soon as I saw it. When I started driving it there were no problems at all. After 1 month the car started being pulled to the left. Dealer said nothing wrong with it. Now when driving in hybrid mode the car has a vibration and shakes hard when change to gas. Dealer said nothing wrong with it. I don't really like the car with that problems. The price was 30.000 dollars and they were supposed to fix the problem. I'm gonna keep it cause is my first new car and I don't have any other option since Hyundai was the only dealer that gave me a 0.9% rate to own it. Interior and comfort is 10/10. Design is 10/10.
