Used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport SUV Consumer Reviews
Why didn't I keep my 2014!!!
I have had 3 Santa Fe Sports; 2013, 2014 and now 2017. The 2017 is by far the worst. I bought it in April, 2016. First, the AC/heat smelled like vinegar and mildew within months of purchase. Brought it in numerous times and now the odor is better, but sneaks up every once in a while. The car started making a weird noise from the undercarriage at slow wide turns about 5-6 months after purchase and they can't figure out what it is...they "cannot duplicate" despite it being heard on test drives with, yours truly! They did lubricate the struts because they did "diagnose" it the first time, but that did nothing but waste my time. The car also vibrated so bad I couldn't take it on the highway and brought it back THREE times to be fixed. Now, the steering wheel vibrates at about 30-50mph and I was told today that it is normal for this vehicle...oh, that's nice! The car has already had a transmission software update recently because it shudders, it felt like it was about to stall and it bucks and the RPM would jump up and then back down...those things have since improved, but still not gone. Oh, a transmission or engine problem? No way! (according to them!) Sometimes when downshifting it also feels like it's kind of speeding up! I live in Florida so it does not get that cold, but the car does not start up easily when it has been cold. I'm beyond disgusted with this car. Oh, and by the way, I've had my radio system replaced because the displays weren't displaying correctly, the android auto wouldn't connect or it would lose connection, the reverse camera went black and white on me at one point, etc...I'm actually at a dealership now and was told "could not duplicate" some, ofnthe above issues. Surprise! I'm looking to trade it in at this point, of course for another brand. I don't want to drive this thing anymore. I don't trust it, nor do I trust Hyundai at this point. It's a beautiful, roomy, car and the touch screen is very simple to use so those features get 5 stars. Otherwise, blah! I'm beyond dissatisfied

Turbo to go
This a great SUV, stylish with the industries best warranty. Regardless of what you read in the "professional" reviews, the car is peppy, fast even when you punch it for an SUV. Excellent handling and technology abound, especially if you opt for the tech package, excellent value for what you get. I compared my 2017 to Mercedes, BMW and the domestics and at the end of the day, hands down the best value for the money - the full glass top is incredible, largest i have seen in it's class. The dynamic bending lights with the xenon lights are great, however...It would have been good to have he fog lights xenon as well, they are regular halogen..Also the dual zone air conditioning, while it works great oscillates while in use, something you have to get used to.

Good value based Suv
Good value for money Suv, disappointed by the seat quality after driving it for over an hour. Love the technology and reliability so far.

Very happy with vehicle
Recently purchased the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with the popular and premium packages. I recommend purchasing these packages since the 2017 version offers a lot including power lift gate (which works great!), larger screen, blind spot and cross traffic warnings and many other features. My wife and I have been very happy with the vehicle. The Bluetooth system works great and allows you to use your smart phone to put navigation on the screen plus many other features. Acceleration and gas mileage has been great and we got a wonderful deal on the car at around $30,000 with the 2 packages. As a follow up to my original review I can say that my wife and I are still very happy with our purchase after having owned the car for about 7 months. The one thing that I miss is the backup sensors that sound when you are close to an object. Not sure why Hyundai did not offer this with the two packages we purchased. We would have had to purchase a 3rd package to get this rather basic option. We are also finding the interior a little cramped compared to the Kia Sorento we had but still not too bad. Still feel we got a good deal and a lot of features for the money. Would recommend this vehicle.

2017 SantaFe
Updated 8/2017. I have sold the Santa Fe. Many problems which the dealer could not fix. The major issue was that when you accelerate from a roll...the car would hesitate for 3-5 seconds and the traction control light would come on. After that time all was normal but it was scary pulling out into traffic! I tried to work with the Hyundai corporate folks but in the end they were NO Help. I now have a Nissan Murano & have had no problems. Purchased this car after selling a 2012 Subaru Forester. The ride is more comfortable than the Forester. The leather seats are very nice. The mileage is not what I would expect but the turbo 4 cyl is a necessity when accelerating on to a highway. There is significant tire noise from the rear wheels which I didn't hear on a 50mph test drive. Also the center driver console does not slide out (forward) to rest your arm while driving. The instruments are good but way too many settings for an old guy to figure out.
